  1. Congratulations on the book. Getting the Mike Sheahan to do the foreword is a really feather in the cap!!!
  2. Does this mean we’ll get the VFL teams before half time in their games now?
  3. Watching Kozzy play over the past few weeks, I think he might have grown a few centimetres since he came to the club. Was recruited at 171cm but looks taller than Spargo who is supposed to be 174cm. Anyone think the same?
  4. Thunderstorms predicted for the Gold Coast. Why not relocate the game to there and put the teams in a hub for old time’s sake?
  5. Meanwhile, what happens with ticketing? Surely the best thing to do is to move this game to Marvel Stadium at 1.10pm on Sunday and reallocate a later North game to Blundstone? This would allow tickets to be sold to the supporters of both clubs and avoid the uncertainty and a possible fiasco.
  6. Have set Foxtel to record this potentially epic television event but am curious about the team selection. Up until now, it’s been simple - wait for Melbourne to pick its team for the AFL game by which time, the VFL game is 10 minutes into the second quarter. I get that and it seems to work as beautifully as everything else in terms of communication with fans of AFL & VFL these days. But when will we know this week?
  7. It took about 10 minutes of cross-examination of Nathan Buckley before they even recognised that Goodwin was in the studio.
  8. “But for now, he will link up with the Demons on Monday, as he hopes to win a spot on their playing list. “As part of the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period we have offered Majak Daw an opportunity to train with us for the remainder of pre-season,” List manager Tim Lamb told the club’s website.” Does that mean that the team is able to train on Monday despite the lockdown?
  9. A number of players have been delisted recently as a result of rule changes relating to rookies. I understand that Shultz is one of those players and he will be automatically put on the Dockers’ rookie list with the consent of the player and club. Your suggestion is therefore most unlikely.
  10. There are a good few suggestions here - The 23 mature-age bargain gems your club could steal at AFL draft - and three of them are ex-Pies
  11. Not making excuses. Simply expressing admiration for the people who run the Collingwood Football Club and who always fight tooth and nail to get the best deal for the team.
  12. Pies didn’t have to make excuses. In the last 9 rounds of the season they had 7 games at the Gabba, travelled out of Queensland once (to Adelaide v Adelaide when they were at their worst) and had a bye. Well done to them but they really had an armchair ride into the finals compared to us.
  13. Strangely enough, they did manage to hit targets after quarter time when they played us. And they had Walters to kick goals for them when they were needed.
  14. When all is said and done, we were stitched up in Round 16 when the Bulldogs came off a bye and a long break to play the Eagles at Metricon off a 5 day break with Natanui pulling out late. They won by 2 points and their last goal just got through the score review by a fingernail. Next day, we lose to the Dockers off a 4 day break. We needed only one of those results to go the other way and we play finals. Now we need a miracle to make the finals and get to play the Eagles in Perth.
  15. How about a parade of the horses running in the WS Cox Plate?
  16. Hilarious that they dropped Mitch Brown when we met them last year and now he’s in our team.
  17. Pass. We have enough over 30s on the list as it is.
  18. Translation: 4 - 6 weeks
  19. 6. Clayton Oliver 5. Christian Petracca 4. Ed Langdon 3. Steven May 2. Angus Brayshaw 1. Charlie Spargo
  20. 6 Clayton Oliver 5 Jack Viney 4 Steven May 3 Christian Petracca 2 Christian Salem 1 Jake Lever
  21. Bottom club with a 19 clearances to 12 lead at half time. Bartlett’s spray isn’t working.
  22. Half Time and neither side has impressed at this point in time. The other thing that’s not impressing is the rain and the predictions that it’s going to hang around the Coast for the next few days and affect our game on Sunday. It should also impact our team selection and I’m thinking Nathan Jones is firming for a return. T. Mac also still a chance as well.
  23. Frank Davis used to umpire schoolboy games in the eastern suburbs about 30 years ago.
  24. Is it possible that one player could be the softest player to represent three AFL clubs?
  25. Collingwood’s season is about to implode.
