Head Coach – Roos Player development – Choco Midfield – Ling Backline – Wellman Forward – Leigh Brown & the Ox This is best case scenario, I believe, Brown/Schwartz could really be an assist to our forward line of Hogan/Dawes/Clark, Carey to come down and help out. Ling could really help our young midfield and I think they would really go hard for Lin as a premiership player and captain (Loves Viney as well) Roos – no brainer Choco – is well known for developing young talent Backmen – same players as when he was there pretty much excluding Rivers, god we miss Rivers

Bossdog Shhhhhhhhh, You can't harping on about the bulldogs, Lions, GWS and the suns. Who cares about them, we're here because we care about the MFC!!!. GWS ans the Suns have had more AFL handouts then any other club in history. The point you're missing is that AFL football is Melbourne, with a team with Melbourne in the title is struggling it looks bad for the brand. They need a strong Melbourne name for games such as Melbourne vs Sydney, Adelaide etc. Stop worrying about the other teams, the MFC is rotting a very well run organisation, that does not run kindly with the organisation. Either they/we resolve the issue or we shut up shop or move interstate. But you take your membership money away as that's what important here. Not attracting new supporters, sponsors and more importantly good afl players wanting to represent the red in blue. In your words "god give me strength" the answer is right there in front of you. We're sick and dying we can either ask for help or perish. I'm all for helping us get back on track, look what it did for the swans! We could do with trucks loads of that. And don't give me the old cliche of "sell our soul for a flag" this is about a prosperous future for the MFC that is it!

Isn't Watts contract expires this year? so that means he is free to walk to which ever team he wants?

I think we'll have a fair bit of free coin at years end, looks to me like Frawley, Sylvia and Watts will leave. Davey will be pushed with Gilles, Rodan. Frawley will be a massive hit, it shows how much of a gaping hole Rivers left, but once Chip leaves our defense will screwed!

That really makes me sad that last sentence. The management plans that were put in place over the years must of been done on butchers paper and crayons. It is hard to believe that we have been this bad for this long!. If i didnt laugh i would be crying!. Exactly right mate, I have nothing against Beamer for leaving. His career and was completely his decision. We have all had coaches what we have loved and others that we have hated. For far to long Melbourne have had coaches but not teachers, theres a massive difference between that and for to long we have just had coaches, when will the penny drop with the boys up stairs, thats the questions? it must be coming soon.....

I actually just bumped into Sylvia, Jamar, Davey and Beamer at a pub in Brisbane, it was a very low key affair for the boys, just a brief catch up with their ex team mate. I was standing at the bar and they were beside me, i shook their hands and bought the boys a beer and had a brief chat with Beamer. Told him we would of loved him to be on our side today. Told me he wished he still was put these things happen (still loves the red and blue), I was very impressed with all of them were all lovely guys. You can tell Sylvia, Jamar and Davey wished he was still with us. For me today was just a reminder at how bad our senior management is, you cannot let beamer and rivers walk and then fill them with rookies. I have had enough of Melbourne expecting first years to come in and dominate. We did it with Watts,Scully and trenners and now i am reading posts of the same of Viney, Toumpas, Terlich and M.Jones. Every other team has senior players and they slowly drip feed the newbies in when their ready, not melbourne tho, we expect them to come in and dominate straight away. Then when we eat them up and spit them out with do a list cull and start all over again. Lets hope this new CEO is all that he's cracked up to be because we all have been sold some serious lies over the past 7 years. We has the planning been? we're supposed to be a professional outfit. We'd want to get cracking or Frawley and Watts will at seasons end, then we will expect another first year to carry the load of the both of them.

I'm at the game and it feels like the Lions have 2 extra guys on the field. Grimes, Gawn, Garland, Sylvia are working their back sides off but it's just not our day. God we miss Rivers and another inside mid like Molony. For Tim Harrington to say that Tommy mac will fill Rivers role was premature and ridiculous. This is obviously the first game I have been to this year, but gee wizz we have been sold some lies over the years.
