  1. Very well said! No need for us to fight, we should all just be very excited, all other clubs are drooling, so why cant we!
  2. Oh, and btw, Riewoldt played 6 games, so not much anyway, he was also a little older, IMHO Jack will play 6-9 games anyway, so, as for that, they are not far off, and NOick is the closeest example, but as I mentioned, school makes a HUGE differance! I think we can all agree that were excited, and that we should not jump the gun yet, positively or negatively.
  3. I do see your point, and perhaps my anger was misdirected. I guess im just sick of ppl being negative all the time. Im not pumping him up, im simply asking we dont judge him at all until he has had a chance to prove himself. As for my footy knowledge, well, I'll put that down to you being defensive, so fair enough. I played over 400 games, played for my state and have worked at 2 clubs administration, I know my footy, but passion can sometimes cloud opinions. I went too harshly at you personally, poerhaps I mis-read your view and was far too defensive, so im sorry. As for Morton being my avator, and ppl saying it "concerns them" we pump them up too much, cmon, thats just silly. Im not saying Jack will without doubt be a superstar, but yeah, I hope he does, lets just wait and see is all. As for Cale, well the kid is flying and atm looks the goods, long way too go, but yeah, too right im excited, about all our kids, who wouldnt be? Iv never seen us have a list as young and talented as this at our club, its fantastic!
  4. Nope sorry! Kruezer is a ruckman, he was far bigger built and 18 months older, you cannot compare the 2! Jack is still in high school, thats a MASSIVE factor! Riewoldt did not play in his 1st year, if he did, it was AFTER round 11, Jack WILL play within the next 4 or 5. My real point is, JAck is a massive talent, and deserves the time to concentrate on building his physique, study hard, and build a core fitness! I just will not listen to idiots who just throw around negative vibes, its just ridiculous! As for being named in the best, they dont give them away, he did what he was asked, and named, simple! at his age and stage of development, thats a great effort! The club were delighted with how he performed. Yes, somemay say others were better, but to be honest, id rather hear it from the club rather than some Demonland observers. Those of you who bag JAck, be ready for some warm, steamy, sticky humble cherry pie! Morons.
  5. Are you kidding me? It is fools like you that stop me from coming here more often. He was on a modified program pre-season, is 8 weeks behind the rest of the squad, the club has said they expect nothing from him at senior level, he was drafted under age, this year, he would not be able to be drafted with the new age limits. Jack is doing just fine, better infact. HE WAS NAMED IN THE BEST!! what more do you want? Seriously, people like you just make me so angry, no idea about development at all!! Plenty of no.1 pickls take time, especially the taller younger, less developed ones! Riewoldt ring any bells? how many games did he play in year 1? oh thats right, NONE! He is the latest example of a top KPP pick! Relax, Jack is allright by me!
  6. A great topic, and I totally agree! Bottom 6 pretty close, except Bate prob top 15, but whoever said swap with Grimes, shame on you Grimes is already rated as one of our 10-12 most importnat players, thtas from the club. But yes, our depth is looking great, add in Mcnamara, , Netwon, Cheney, The injuries, of which we have as many as most, then things really do look positive. Having to rop Cheney after a good game proves it. Still Watts, Strauss, Blease, Jurrah, Bail to come.. Hmmmm..
  7. Meeson has been great, Johnson lucky yes, but Meeson has done what has been asked plus a little sugar on top, will only get better and really looking like he belongs!
  8. Silly Post! Could of kicked 6 against Tigers, 5 against crows, 8 in VFL last week. He has come a lONG LONG way with his defensive pressure and his leading patterns. Just needs to work opn his accuracy, but if he played ion Casey 2's, and Kicked just ok, then yes, he could kick 12!
  9. Doubt Aussie wil play, as DB has said just because he played last year, does not mean he comes straight in, he must show good form first, which he has not yet done. Bell NO CHANCE!!! Still a long way off, Whelan prob 1 more away! Watts, was great to see him & he has already confirmed the level wont be an issue. But lets be patient, still at least 2-3 more at VFL, cant afford to bring him in off 1 game at VFL level. He is only a school boy guys, yes, other rookies come straight in, but with a full pre-season ahed of them, and usually at 6-12 more mature age, hardened bodies, or midfield players, not a KPP who wiull be under such intense scrutiny, so yes, I cant wait either, but it wont and shouldnt be just yet Grimes was very quiet at Casey, needs a little bit more form, wont be long though! Mcnamara & Bail the next 2 to debut.. In: Newton, Bail Out: Bennell (his turn for a rest), Dunn
  10. Possibly the worst summary ive ever seen. Normally pretty good, but today, we made a raelly good showing of ourselves and I personally was full of postive vibes after our performance. Morton was fantastic and has superstar engraved on his chest, Martin was great and showed good versatility, Sylvia put in a great effort and is coming along, Moloney tried all day, Frawley was not loose at al, simply attacking. WHy ppl choose to be so negative perturbs me, signs are really good atm, the players are really staring to become confident in the game plan, and didnt back down against one of the best sides of all time. We were tough at the ball, took the game on a bit, and simply made too amny errors, which is natural with a young side, but the important thing is we took risks, were physical, created contests, and didnt at any stage drop our heads. Each week we are getting more postive signs, and there will be games coming up were we click them all at once and look very impressive, then there will be times were we just look ordinary, again, normal for the youngets side in the competition. Alot of exp to come in, alonmg with more youth.. Bring it on dees.. Im proud to be a demon man today
  11. I know he is frustrating, but guys, Sylvia will NOT be dropped. Only miss next week if susp. Was named in best and Ive said it before, we need all the senior players we can get atm, but yes I know he is frustrating! He showed a little bit today, just his effort seems to never be there. Its actually quite sad! Wonaemirri still 2-3 weeks away! IN: Maric, Mcdonald, Bail, Newton (if Sylvia suspended) OUT: Jetta, Dunn, Bartram, Sylvia* The Bail 4 Bartram more what Id like to see, however I think Bartram will play, im just not a big rap, far too defensive, gives us no real drive the other way!
  12. 6 - Davey 5 - Martin 4 - Green 3 - Bennell 2 - Morton 1 - Bruce Stef and Meeson 2 positives, along with Bennell's dash and Rivers again getting another week under his belt.
  13. GUYS! RELAX! Drop Mclean? seriously guys, let the guy work back into it, hes our best midfielder! Dropped? not in a million years! Some of you need to understand where our club is at right now, we are a very young side taht is going to have our momentss (1st Q) and then have periods of fading out, thats youth, simple! You cannot simply just wield the axe, things just dont happen like that. Its round 2, and we have had 4 cmpetitive quarters out of 8, which comparede to this time last year, is miles ahead. We will improve gradually, each week. You cant just drop senior players in a side like this, we dont have that luxury right now. Mclean, PJ, Bate, even Sylvia all need to be in our 22. They will be given time to work into some form. SYlvia at least showed some good signs, but, like the rest of the side, its only patches right now. The rotaions will come from the likes of Jetta, Bennell, Spencer, Cheney and fringe players such as: Bartram, Frawley, Martin, and co. Obviously right now, MArtin is safe and looking great, as is Frawley. Bartram and Dunn are fighting it out for the tagging role. THe ins will come from Wheatley, Whelan, Maric, Meeson, Newton & Grimes. I know it can be easy to taregt some players who have had a quiet day, but sometimes, its not the answer. I am proud to be a demon supporter right now, because we, and all in the footy world know, we are in a faze of youth and with that comes massive swings in performance. Be patient, because the signs are there! Dropping Mclean, Sylvia JOhnsom is not the answer, or really an option right now! Once these kids get more experience and fitness, then, and only then, can we start to relegate ourharder bodied, more seasoned players.
  14. With the shockng injury to Col Garland, many believe that its a given that Shane Valenti will be elevated this week. For good reason too, Valenti was more than solid at the level last year, and will no doubt be a good addition to the midfield rotation. However, there are a few murmors that perhaps due to the make up of the side, and the lack of forward options atm, that Trent Zomer may be given the chance to show his worth at senior level. There is talk that he may get that chance, or at least be considered. Zomer is a KPP, with great hands and a good solid taregt up forward. Alot will depend on how he perfoms tomorrow @ Casey, but I for one feel maybe its worth a go. While I also feel it would be extremely hard not to promote Valenti, due to his performance last year, at the end of the day its about the big picture. We have plenty of mids to go around for now, KPP's is what we need, especially players who can take a grab and present an option up forward. SO, perhaps its not so clear cut? Valenti certainly deserves it, but the circumstances (Jamar returning in 5-6 weeks, Spencer to most likely stay on) may permit Zomer to be given a go. If we had a spot open permanently, Valenti would be a lock, but, since its only for a few weeks, it could mean that we may take a gamble. We'll see, either way, its a small plus out of a terrible loss.
  15. 6 - Davey: Finally fully fit, coming of age, big year ahead, could join games elite game breakers. 5 - Warnock: Our next AA? fantastic old school FB! 4 - Martin: Has mazing composure, shows great signs, another reason our backline will be leagues best within 48 months. 3 - Green: Tireless player who is often under rated, would be regarded top 20 players around if in a winning team. 2 - Morton: Sheer class, geniune super star potential, consistency will come with experience. 1 - Miller: fabulous early on, shame he copped tha knock, good signs.
  16. Well, here we go.. This is the season to begin the demon era of hope.. Agter carefully watching as much training as I can, and including what I saw on saturday, I have finally comep up with my best 22, thats, Best 22, not my round 1 team, 2 quite differant things.. It has been a truly excellent pre-season for the boys in red & blue, the best ive ever seen in the last 10-12 years.. SO 2009 I feel will bring alot of excitement, with some Hot patches, with also the to be expected bad patches. But overall, I see a bright future as im sure we all do, infact, I cant ever remember a time I have been so excited about a playing group as I am right now. Positives: * We are the youngest side in the competition by some way. * We have the least exp. side by some way (games played) * Our disposal has improved remarkably, I cant believe how much it has come along as compared with last year * The club is finally in good hands * We finally have a home, (Casey) many underestimate hte im portance this has, its HUGE! * Coaching/game plan: Our team is in excellent hands, many around the AFL traps have been saying that our coaching staff is perhaps the most prepared around the league, a number of people commenting on how they love our new gameplan and the fact that our squad is really responding, and taking shape to the game plan. * STAR potential: For the 1st time I can remember, we finally have some kids who could be geniune stars in the AFl, Cale Morton has a really star factor, who I think by the end of the year, could be rated as the best under 20 prospect around. One AFL coach has said last week that he has the look and potential to be a geniune superstar. Colin Garland is another who coulkd have jaws dropping, along with Mclean & Davey, we finally have some real geniune chances for greatness. Then there is A bloke named Jack who awaits, but PLEASE, be PATIENT! Here is my best 22 (sure to be scrutinized and torn apart B: Garland Warnock Whelan HB: Buckley Rivers Mcdonald© C: Davey Green Morton HF: Bate Miller Bruce F: Wonaemirri Robertson Sylvia R: Johnson Mclean Jones INT: Grimes Moloney Maric Martin EMERG: Valenti Petterd Wheatley NEXT 5: Jamar Bartram Jetta Watts Dunn The good news it, its very hard!! ALways a good sign! The forward line is without doubt the weakness, But Watts will pop in for a few glimpses and bynext year be a permanent fixture. Bate will play a much more prominent role, and be the real CHF target with Miller around the 30-40m mark and Robbo Deep. Sylvia will also be important in the roaming in & out role. Bruce I expect to play alot more up forward in a pinch hitter role. Jetta will be the bolter IMO from this years draftees. Morton to really break out, Maric & grimes to really cement spots. The other issue is the back up ruckman. Martin mnay fill in a little, if the match ups down back allow. Meeson definately has the potential, but needs to be more aggressive and create more contests, Spencer is one to watch. Jamar will play his part, but hopefully someone can cement the job. Wheatley will play the year, by by years end no longer be in best 22 calculations with the development of Petterd, Maric, Grimes and CO. Garland, Mclean & Davey potential AA if things go very well! In summary, 2009 is going to be a ride, overall, an exciting one! GO DEES!
  17. Very well said mate.. He lacked imagination, and picked FAR too many mid-sized players.. Bell, Frawley, Newton not exactly greast examples of success YM.. CAC is the has the SOLE responsibilty of the state of our list, which, until now, has been terrible! Its that simple, hew is the man to credit for the last few yaers of an under sized, slow depth-lacking list.. Bailey is beginning to put it right now.. as we are the only side to have a TRUE YOUTH POLICY! Well done Bailes! As for CAC, thankyou for leaving, I was so so so happy with the news! Tigers fans, enjoy!
  18. Demons will take Klemke.. Sibosado #1 pick in Rookie Draft My phantom is: 1) Demons - Kade Klemke 2) Power- Josh Carr 3) Bombers - Hayden Skipworth 4) Blues - Chris Johnson 5) Brisbane - Matt De Boer 6) Tigers - Tom Rockliffe
  19. 5 picks.. 2 Veterans Lets hope we can pinch a few good 1's, im guessing Sibosado 1st pick in rookie draft..
  20. You guys are so sad.. That kid used 2 post hundreds of stupid deals every day, it was a joke. I posted this trade info saturday, before it was in the media, I really do feel sorry for you guys, I mean what type of people get bitter about felow demon fans posting harmless information on an internet forum? You guys really must have some deed seeded issues, its actually truly sad. If you dont want the info, don't read guys, really, its no big deal.
  21. Exactly what he meant, well said.. Dont worry, this guys mum has given him 2 much red cordial.. I mean, if Im making it up, how the hell did I say saturday that CJ, Green, Jamar would be offered? Which we now they indeed were.. Honestly, IMO, what Connolly said backs me up, as I knew out of today noone was interested, thus, I didnt post any trade rumours regarding him, even though word was that sydney wanted him.. Chris meant that his name was NOT MENTIONED by any clubs..
  22. Oh dear.. Correct, his name was not mentioned in any trades, as no one showed interest you imbosile!!! IE: we will lower our criteria for him in the hope his name DOES come up, gee wiz..
  23. HAHAHA! It actually re-affirms my post u fool! Thus, yes, re-read, I say that there were NO BITES FOR WHEATLEY! I never mentioned the Wheatley to Sydney deal, as THAT IS BS!!! Read properly u dills, not just the title.. I have said before and will say again, my sources are ME.. I worki in an environment that allows me to hear about things around footy clubs, simple.. As if im actually going to name people who tell me things, as they'd stop telling me.. omg!!
