Forgotten Star Confident He Can Bounce Back
Apparently the Pies are planning to play a faster brand of footy, GWS, Port, Carlton and the Lions to a point like the fast footy. I would personally rather play smart to a smaller fwd line than play a tall who has limited mobility for the sake of playing a tall. Really keen to see what McAdam brings, really keen to see both him and Kozi together deep in fwd 50. Some quick ball movement please.

2024 Free Agents
TMac BBB Brayshaw Smith Melksham (potentially) Last year of contract Hunter (30 this season) Tomlinson (31 this season) Laurie (22 this season, can he break into the side?) There’s a lot of money right there, I’d be offering Petty (signed until end 2025) a new contract and definitely making a play for JUH. On a side note, I think JUH will be on the move, hopefully to us, where does that leave the Dogs. Can’t wait for the 19th and 20th team to come in.

Where will the Dees finish after round 24?
I’ve got us finishing top 4 again. Best defence last 3 years. We’ve got too much talent not too. It won’t look pretty early but we’ll be banking wins, and as the season goes on our fwd line will take shape leading into a barnstorming run into the finals leading ultimately into our 2nd flag in four years.

POSTGAME: Match SIM vs Richmond
What parts was he referring to? Surely the answer can’t be just the fwd handball game. What made Richmond so dominant in their recent premiership years was their manic ball movement, and quick delivery inside 50, then quickly spotting up someone in a better position. At times it seemed the plan was no plan, get it in quickly and put the opposition under pressure. Having some gun KPF and crafty smalls helped. In many ways that’s what Collingwood did last year.

POSTGAME: Match SIM vs Richmond
Didn’t see the game but having read the comments, you can put whatever spin you want on it…. - It’s only practice match - Both coaches weren’t showing their hand - Key players only played part of the match - We had key players out Richmond had their fair share of players out too but there is no excusing poor disposal.

2024 Injury List
Petty is a bloody good footballer so it’s a no brainer he’s still on the list. He’s contracted until the end of next season but we probably only have until half way through this season to make a call. If he can get over his injury concerns and gets back to playing some good footy we need to offer him a new contract which supersedes his current one in order to keep him. If he can’t then he sees out his current one. Considering his age, talent and the fact he’s a key position premiership player (who played well in the finals) it’s madness to suggest we should of offloaded him at the end of last season.

AFL’s Upper Echelon
Walsh was 7th after Daicos, he should also be on your list. Were yet to see him at his best.

2024 Demon Army Membership
Not related to the Demon Army by why can we no longer get players pictures on our membership cards and what happened to the fridge magnets with the draw on them? They can’t of been costing that much.

Tasmanian AFL Team
I don’t agree, quantity doesn’t always equate to quality. We currently have 25.69 million people and teams have holes in their lists. Not every team has a big name key fwd or ruck. Was talking earlier tonight to my mate who supports Collingwood, he says he’s worried about their depth. After the flag in 21 everyone was on here was taking up our depth on here, how’s that quickly turned.

Tasmanian AFL Team
Yes they are, and the cycle continues.

Tasmanian AFL Team
If North became the Suns would we then not have an uneven number? Tassie then becomes the 18th team. Im all for a team in Tassie but my fear is having a 19th & 20th team will dilute the product too much. We don’t have the population / talent to justify this. 2 teams in each of QLD, NSW, SA, WA plus 9 in Melbourne plus Tassie works. Next they’ll want to change the finals system.

Tasmanian AFL Team
Ideally they fold a Victorian club up. Will never happen but 18 clubs is enough.

TICKETING: 2024 Opening Round
Not sure, I think it might be. I’m coming from Homebush way so there’s no where for me to catch it. Driving is the best option for me. Thinking about it I spent more time in Melbourne’s CBD last year than Sydney’s.

Tim English
Need a key fwd. Hopefully we know Petty’s intentions at years end.

TICKETING: 2024 Opening Round
It’s funny, when I fly to Melbourne for games my wife and I will go out for lunch / dinner at a restaurant then drinks at a pub before the games starts and because we’re staying in the city we have the luxury of the Melbourne tram network. When attending the SCG we drive in, the public transport is not as user friendly as Melbourne’s in terms of convenience. No trains to the ground only buses, not sure if the recently upgraded tram network goes there. So we park close by and walk straight to the ground. @hardtack or @Sydee may be able to shed some light on this for you.

2024 Strength & Weaknesses
2023 Points against 1st St.Kilda 1575 2nd Carlton 1592 3rd Melbourne 1604 4th Collingwood 1656 2022 Points against 1st Melbourne 1483 2nd Fremantle 1486 3rd Geelong 1488 4th Sydney 1616 2021 Points against 1st Melbourne 1443 2nd Geelong 1456 3rd Port Adelaide 1492 4th Western Bulldogs 1501 We’ve been the best defensive side over the last 3 year, our problems lie forward of centre. I think we’re at our best defensively when we play 2 talls plus Lever. Our entries inside fwd 50, lack of separation, goal kicking inaccuracy and at times players out of position (lost count of how many times when kicking to a marking fwd there’s not a crumbing fwd in 20 metres of the contest) has cost us. Fritsch is a gun, great mark, set shot and can prove to be a difficult match up. I’m interested to see what McAdam brings, and hopefully Petty gets back to full fitness quickly. Ultimately we need to take more risks and back our fwds in, quicker more direct ball movement. I think I read in a recent training report that Bowey was delivering the ball inside 50, I would to see us make some changes do we don’t repeat past mistakes.

TICKETING: 2024 Opening Round
You’re better of buying tickets and getting decent seats, the bay allocated is in the pocket and viewing is restricted as the ground has a massive crown. I sat there rd 24 last year, never again. Was better of watching it at home on tv.

Membership Packs
Random question, hoping someone can help. Was 2020 the last year that members got lanyards with their membership cards? I ask because I was just going through all of old membership stuff, I’m thinking during Covid they tried introducing the digital membership hence no lanyard but not 100% sure. Thanks

2024 Fixture
It is, but I think we can win our first 3, losing our next 3 would be a disaster. The short break between Port and the Crows is going to be tough. I’d take a win against Port, with potentially a few rotations against the Crows. Lions will be massive, up until the finals of 2022 we owned them for a few years, regardless of where we played them. I’d be very disappointed if we can’t get over Richmond and Geelong.

2024 Fixture
Nightmare of a fixture for interstate members looking to attend games at the G in the first 12 rounds. Would love to attend the Lions / Carlton games but having recently changed companies going to be tough to take two days off. Looks like Geelong is the pick of the bunch, luckily already got good seats to our first game.

Harrison Petty
My point is, Petty’s current wage plus 625k from Grundy plus Harmes, Hibbo, JJ (not on much I’m guessing, pending retirement of BBB and TMac. I can’t see why we can’t offer enough to retain Petty and chase a free agent on big dollars. The 3 recruits are on base wage for the first 2/3 years.
