Great mark to TMac but how about getting some separation out fwds. Simple stuff.
-
As does the rest of the competition.
-
If we’re going to continue bombing it to Gawn/Grundy when kicking out, can we at least get some numbers around them.
-
Bowey on a fwd flank to deliver the footy to Fritsch, TMac and JVR.

All we heard pre season was the Dees training intensity was above all other teams. All bar 4 players today are premiership players from 2021, a year that we beat the Lions three times and absolutely destroyed Geelong (2022 Premiers) and the Bulldogs in the Preliminary/GF. Has the game changed that much? Have others teams gotten that much better? A lot of our guns are still in their prime as well as having a lot of young players from that year who have naturally progressed, Rivers being the prime example. I think our game plan hasn’t evolved and our disposal is terrible for long periods of games. 5-6 rounds in our accuracy was the best in the league. We have so much talent, we just need to tweak a few things and drop any arrogance we may be carrying and stop taking opponents for granted. This list should be able to achieve one more flag as a minimum. The fact we’re still having these types of discussions is very disappointing.

Love it!

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
GWS currently have pick 4 plus Richmond’s pick 5 + if Himmelberg leaves they could get a top 10 pick as free agency compensation. (copied of HS) -
Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1

GWS can trump us easily. -
For me my biggest concerns are 1 : disposal by hand and foot. So many kicks just thrown on the boot and bombed fwd. Our entries inside fwd 50 haven’t improved. Can we try Bowey up on a fwd flank to try and improve this? Our handballs seem to take for ever to get to their destination allowing the opposition time to cover. You often here of the Bulldogs bullet like handballs. 2 : Players in the wrong positions on the ground. Where are our smalls at the drop of the ball. Or players not knowing when to hang back to receive the handball or go in and help. 3 : Way too predictable. When we kick out opposition teams will now almost circle Gawn / Grundy, try and force the ball to ground, then gather the ball and run in numbers. We need to look at how Collingwood is currently playing or we can write this year off. We need to play the first 2 qtrs with a play on / run at all costs style of play, be daring and use corridor. This comes with its fair share of turn overs but we’re good enough defensively and this style of play really rattles teams. Then ideally with a decent lead we can slow things down a bit.

I rang the club yesterday. (Apologies if already answered, I’ve just started reading the thread). I asked, being a Redleg I sit Level 2 N1 - N4. If 2A (I think 2 bays) is reserved for premium members with guests, and all general admission tickets are sold out, who then sits in 2A? (As you need an GA ticket to get into the ground then the guest pass to get up to 2A). Are we not selling guest passes? Because general admission can’t get access to that area. I was told they are in talks with the AFL to get a number of GA tickets to match the number of guest passes allocated for that area. They put my name on a list as an expression of interest with no guarantee and said I’d be contacted either way with what comes to fruition. Hope that makes sense.

Just read that Hardwick may be quitting.

For me we need to play fast paced footy, we have the talent to do it. It does come with it’s fair share of turn overs but we can defend that and hurt teams more by creating constant pressure on them.
-
If West Coast get pick are they better of trading it for 2 top 10 picks and drafting home grown talent again.
-
Quick ball movement, use of the corridor, smalls finding themselves at the drop of the ball. Are we watching?

I don’t agree with that, he’s shrugged out of tackles. -

The Kosi missed mark again…. Langdon, surely a player knows their range. -
Adding to that we’ve still got Carlton twice plus Richmond, North and the Hawks again. Games against Port, Pies, Cats and Lions crucial to our top 2 hopes. No excuses not to finish top 4, top 2 very desirable.

Another game on the way to a blow out. How quickly can we get 20 teams….
-
Last year in numerous games they played better including some of the games they lost.
-
Good win for them but I wouldn’t go as far as that.

Great call, I watched the tigers the last 2 weeks and didn’t see this coming. They haven’t been great but they came in with a plan and are executing it well. Still time for Geelong but unlikely based on how they’re playing.
-
I think if there’s going to be an upset @Bring-Back-Powell had already called it and it may be Freo.
-
Tigers dropped Cumberland who’s actually been kicking a few. The last 2 weeks they’ve been woeful. Last week early in the 3/4 the Eagles were up by 3. Yes Geelong’s mids look weakened but surely too much up fwd and down back.

Cats Suns Swans Port Dees Lions Dogs Crows Pies I’ve put in some multis taking Swans v Freo Blues v Dogs Pies v Giants Each way, just in case.
