2024 Free Agents
12 % increase in the cap next season. Brayshaw retired, BBB & TMac most likely to retire, Schache and Smith out of contract, Melksham could potentially go around again. The big one is what are Petty’s plans? I think JUH will explode this year, I can see clubs (Sydney) offering him a long term deal at 1.2 million per season. Even if Petty stays I’d still be throwing massive coin at JUH.

NON-MFC: Opening Round
3 weeks ago Sportsbet gave me a $50 bonus bet, I split it into 4 x $12.50 bets. Took Suns, GWS and the other 2 games each way. Won $163.32, managed to salvage something this weekend.

NON-MFC: Opening Round
2 degrees cooler than Thursday night, that must be difference in ball movement.

Jake Bowey to miss 8 weeks with broken collarbone
Not what we wanted to hear. McVee is also a good user of the footy by foot.

TICKETING: 2024 Opening Round
Contradictory? If you liked the seats I’m happy for you, I’ll never sit there again. I sat behind the goals up high on the opposite end and had a great view. Was it just me or was there a race / tunnel right in front of the goals at the Park Rd end?

PREGAME: Opening Round vs Sydney
Just walked into Brisbane airport wearing my Demons retro t shirt (for the record our best emblem, not this upside down acorn) & the first person I see is a bloke wearing a Swans polo, he looked at me then looked away. He knows….Olivers back baby and the Swans will taste defeat come Thursday night.

Forgotten Star Confident He Can Bounce Back
FWIW David King attended their training and said there was an emphasis on rapid fast paced ball movement and their kicking was the best in the competition. To me this is similar to what the Tigers did, as I said in another thread the plan is no plan. Rapid ball movement bamboozles a lot of opponents, rapid ball movement on the back of elite kicking can tear good teams apart. This style of play also can create a high number of turnovers and good sides will make them pay going the other way. I think they’re very beatable, they had a lot of luck last year (and their fair share of favourable umpiring decisions). How many games won by under a goal, if 2-3 of them go the other way suddenly everything’s different. Interested to see what we’ve learnt from last year with regards to our entries inside fwd 50 and creating separation for our fwds.

2024 Opening Round Team
Anyone take a guess at the Swans side? How bad is Parker’s arm?
