  1. I don't believe Vandenberg would ever pull out of a contest like Mr Kent did on Sunday.
  2. I think he is our new 4-6. To say we need him is an understatement.
  3. Someone must act soon with the inconsistencies, the examples set for kids is poor. My son has been banned from the school oval for a fortnight for laying a tackle during a fun game of footy during his lunch break. Imagine the penalty if he grabbed a piece of his friends jumper and did a Cotchin.
  4. Soidee and myself mentioned this earlier in the thread, that happened right in front of me and I was in total disbelief that a man built like that wouldn't take one for the team. It was a pivotal moment for mine. Most on here have great views on the game but in reality, to allow North 13 scoring shots in the first quarter was probably where we lost the game. Our boys worked so hard to get back as they have all year and that leaves no margin for error so I expect mistakes by foot or hand as the risk is higher. Don't forget, we trailed the Crows by 28 and everything came off that night, yesterday it didn't.
  5. I don't like to get stuck into the players but this I totally agree with. Kent shirked the issue more than once today especially with a woeful effort up forward in the last when the game was in the balance. That disappoints me more than anything, whilst playing poorly, some players were putting their bodies on the line to at least have some impact and to see Kent pull out of contests, well, he might be the first player calling in sick for the review.
  6. So did we dodge a bullet with Prestia going to the Toiges? Reportedly on 600-700k and goin at 61% DE. Add the fact that Dusty is going at 59% for the year how much does this stat mean?
  7. How high have we rated Tyson to call him overrated? Tyson is a smart footballer, yes he makes mistakes like we all do but he more than compliments our midfield as evidenced by his great second half against the Crows. He gets under the oppositions guard when they don't pay attention to him and he contributes offensively.
  8. Our MFC family is strong and wish you all the best Jesse!
  9. It was stated on sen that Guthrie was picked up on audio telling the ump to get out of the way while the ball was in flight to him. Possibly that was taken into consideration.
  10. MRP is cooked, something needs to be done about it! The Ox in disbelief on SEN in regards to Cotchin's jumper punch which was deemed careless. He incurs the same penalty as Bernie for accidentally colliding with an ump. I'm lost for words!
  11. Mundy just topped off the weekend, hilarious! In the AFL rules book there must be a rule that states Dusty can not be penalised for holding the ball whilst trying to fend off 3 blokes whilst putting an opponent in a headlock and incorrectly disposing of the ball.
  12. On the slow mo it looks like it took a funny deflection when the ball was near the post, I wondered the same. His celebration makes me think it went through.
  13. Great summary, wish you wrote some more as I am not ready to sleep yet. In reference to Kent I thought he got more involved as the game went on but in regards to his tackling after watching the replay I'm not sure he actually knows how to tackle.
  14. I was proud of the boys after the Richmond loss for their effort that night, it's now 3 hours since the game finished and I still can't find the words to describe what I'm feeling.
  15. Foxtel commentators have no idea, the caller just called our coach Goodin.
  16. Let's suggest CP, Watts, Jeffy and Hannan score around the 14 goals they scored against the Dons how are we then able to restrict the Crows to less? Can't afford to give one of their forwards six shots on goal like we allowed Joe Daniher in the first half of that game. Hogan has the ability to roam back and at least block space and tonight with our 3 tall backs all having a man to go to we don't have the luxury of a tall floater in defensive 50. Does anyone think we could use Weed as the man dropping back at times to at least make the Crows think a little about their forward entries? Maybe it's time to give the kid some responsibility.
  17. Tomorrow night was always going to be difficult but I was hoping the effort would be there all day. I still think the boys will give it their all but what little air I had left has just been sucked out of me with Hogan missing. Can someone please make me feel better?
  18. Valid point Abe, I didn't want to make it a case of Harmes vs Trengove debate because each player has a different skillset they bring to the team. In my opinion I'd rather see games added to our bunch of players around the 20 game mark. Unfortunately I can't see Trengove being the short or long term solution not to any fault of his own though.
  19. I have liked Trengove from the day we drafted him but unfortunately I believe his best is in the past. What could he bring to the team that Harmes can't? If Harmes is fit surely he gets a game before Trengove this week. He's faster, stronger and can take a mark for his size. Harmes, Kent and Stretch need to play in games like these for the sake of their so called "development".
  20. In : Adelaide oval. Out: MCG. Our record is ok over there, that's what I'm hanging my hat on this week.
  21. Outbodied yes, absolutely! Lets play JKH and Bugg whilst Harmes who's one of our stronger bodies runs around at Casey.
