Post Practice Match Discussion - Melbourne v Collingwood
Dee Zephyr replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Marty Hore is a good price with some agencies at $81 for the Rising Star. Problem is, he’s ineligible for the award, unless the AFL are maintaining their standards of tweaking rules to now allow mature age recruits to become eligible. -

Hunt was the biggest positive after no listed injuries, for me anyway. While it was good to get a look at the unknown, Preuss, Sparrow, C Wagner to name a few, it was great getting back to what we know about Hunt. Really enjoyed his game, first half especially. Seemed confident again with a bit of dash, broke a couple of tackles, lowered the eyes a few times and managed to hit his targets more often than not. If he keeps this kind of showing up he will definitely deserve a spot in what’s a tough back 6 to crack into. On Lewis, I’m sure we’ll have a few conversations about his place in the team during the year for one reason or another, but watching from the same level as the players, even though he’s prone to a few lazy passes, his kicking really is sublime. -
Yep, they’ll be needing a few of those ?

One punter just said goodbye to in excess of $37k after slapping it on Zousain. Can’t even say the punter got a run for their dosh. I say Insane, Zousain.

What excitement? I only played the theme song about 100 times on the way into work after the game. Back on topic, keen to see how News Girl goes in the 4th at Caulfield. Two good runs behind Crack The Code although it didn’t run too well last night, mate says the step up to 1400 shouldn’t be a problem.

Hopefully the wife isn’t going anywhere today.

We’d make a great panel on Sky ?, we’ve done our bit, time for the ponies to come to the party.

Fritta was working the Hubba Bubba over last night. That’s my take from viewing. His celebration after winning Rock, Paper, Scissors against Higgins was good too.

Thanks, i didn’t notice him at all, probably because i kept ducking out behind the buildings for shade during the breaks. Early days i know, but it doesn’t look good for him in his final year of contract if he can’t gain a spot in a scratch match and the team will only get stronger from here.

Is Josh Wagner injured or was he simply left out yesterday?

Fritta’s team through to the grand final. Back to Back AFLX premierships for Fritsch?

Seen enough of Sparrow. Wins the ball and breaks free from 4 Pies in the middle for a release and now drills a beauty. Small sample but I don’t care, looks like he belongs.

Really pleasing to see. Terrific game so far by Hunt. He looks really composed with ball in hand.

Encouraging signs by Hunt. A bit of his dash is back.

We’ve lifted in the last 5. Some strong tackling on display.

13-0 Pies. Gus our best early on.

Mostly black and white here Sku. It might be a while.

It begins...kind of.

Not sure if heartbreaking, I’d be interested to read what kind of item breaking occurred after Round 2 2016.

2000 QF final against the Blues for me. So many players without impact for 3 quarters and up step 2 unlikely heroes in the final quarter. Probably the biggest buzz I’ve experienced for an entire quarter. Sat in a Carlton section that day and boy were their fans giving it to us at three quarter time. The look on their faces after the final siren will never be forgotten. We just smiled at them as they made their way out in misery. Will never ever get sick of watching the replay of that last quarter and Commeti’s commentary, “ Bruce an unlikely hero, the rookie, the rookie.”

Ha Ha you guys, the lucky streak has coincided with the newest little fella arriving 10 weeks ago. I’m the go to guy for late night bottle feeds, fair to say I’ve finally worked out the formula for both of us, pardon the pun.

Many disappointments over the years. Round 11 2015 against the Saints when Montagna ripped out the heart of my little fella sticks out to this day. The result had no bearing on the season, but I’ll never forget the disappointment on his face as he was then old enough to understand the game. A game we shouldn’t have lost that day after finding ourselves in front with little time left, but I realised then and there he’d gone past the point of no return. He was well and truly hooked on the Red and Blue.

What are the chances of the squad getting named at 18:25 today?
