  1. Happy to go with a midweek pick fellas if everyone is good to go. Will be taking a winter spell after the Autumn carnival on ADATR, weekends are becoming too crazy around here, still happy to post a couple of Monkeys a week though. Edit: Love the NHL playoffs, Boston is my tip to win the Stanley Cup. $10 second favourite. Tampa Bay $2.80 favourites, been a while since I’ve seen a discrepancy like that in the NHL.
  2. T Mac? Reports are he was a no show.
  3. His biggest weapon is his dash and his long kicking from wing to the forward line. The guy makes space numerous times on the outer wing only to be ignored by our lack of switching. When the ball is eventually turned over he does a mad scramble back to the last line of defence in his usual terrier manner often finding himself out of position. He’s not the only defender struggling in what seems like disorganised chaos back there.
  4. What options do we have available? Our main training session is on this morning. Preuss looks a likely inclusion if T Mac is indeed hurt and can’t play. Stretch would be next in line you would think due to his restricted minutes yesterday. There were two VFL games on Friday, why didn’t they schedule Casey on that day? The fixturing between VFL and AFL seems out of sync sometimes.
  5. Did someone mention in another thread Josh Dunkley is OOC this year? I wouldn’t mind having a go at him.
  6. Conflicting numbers with the tackles above. Earlier posts had Bedford 9 tackles and Maynard 17.
  7. Monday Best Netherlands Eredivisie Monday at 00:45 Vitesse Arnhem v PSV Eindhoven PSV Win & Over 2.5 match goals $2.15
  8. Even if Maynard is next in line, which in my opinion he shouldn’t be, I can’t see him coming in regardless of today. Is there enough rest time for him to back up after a full game 4 days later against Sydney?
  9. If Stretch is in serious consideration for Thursday, take him off. Pointless being out there. He’s busted a gut already.
  10. Big difference in foot skills. Chandler the only one to maybe get excited about at this stage.
  11. It might have been mentioned already and apologies if it has, but there are so many threads it’s impossible to keep up at times. An observation on our defensive set up in the 1st and 3rd quarters from Punt Rd goals. It was puzzling to see our backs line up on different ESS forwards in nearly every centre bounce in those quarters. Do we like to rotate our defenders or is the opposition simply regularly throwing a different mix down there to confuse us even further knowing there’s a lot of panic at the moment amongst the back 6? Stringer had 3 different opponents at one stage in the first and that included Fritsch. Oscar and Frost regularly swapped between McKernan and Clarke especially in the first when a lot of damage was done. Ess had Shiel, Smith, Baguley deep at different stages. Fantasia and Tippa were rarely used deep, more so high half forwards and wing so they can damage us on the rebound. We can’t afford to have Hibbo sprint 50 meters back when the ball is kicked over his head to man up the guy out the back or deepest forward. It’s happened numerous times this year and Hibbo is best used as a dasher from half back. His disposal seems to have suffered a bit from 2017, is he maybe spending too many petrol tickets this way? Is the wing a possibility for him? My confusion stems from seeing our backs gather together after we concede a goal for an encouragement knuckle touch or whatever it’s called only to be followed by a lot of head shaking and finger pointing. This is where Lewis is needed. This is purely an observation from ground level fence. Also, looking up at the interchange board, I noticed Jones and Viney were on the bench together a few times. A lot are questioning their leadership, but surely at least keep one of them out there during crucial times.
  12. That McInerney goes alright. Has bobbed up when needed the last two weeks with some strong marking and goals.
  13. 3 preseason premiership fancies on 2 wins between them after 3 rounds.
  14. Closest to pin, how many inside 50s for us on that tiny ground next week?
  15. I haven’t seen Chandler or Bedford play so I can’t possibly make a comment on either. You have obviously seen them play to make that judgement. Hunt was good in my opinion last night, at least he was in some kind of spot. The forward line seemed more open to me in the 2nd when T Mac was off injured. As to your question, Hunt had one goal assist and 10 score involvements, whatever they mean.
  16. Offer Bernie the position full time. I don’t know, try anything.
  17. It was staggering watching him plod 15 metres behind opponents early in the game and even struggling to run to the interchange at times. His injury came at a bad time for him and he’s definitely struggling fitness wise. Too early to maybe make a call on him but someone like Stretch must be scratching his head pondering why he can’t get a run while others seem to be getting a game just to gain match fitness. I’m not the biggest fan of Stretch but surely the bloke could run 120 minutes out and might provide some pressure to opponents even if it’s perceived. Unfortunately, that’s where we are at the moment.
  18. He can be as dumb as dog poo for all I care if he kicks 3 every week. Weren’t you one suggesting for him to play in the forward line?
  19. 6. Brayshaw 5. Harmes 4. Gawn 3. Hunt 2. Oliver 1. Fritsch
  20. Either T Mac is a very selfish footballer or the coaches didn’t have the gonads to bench him in the last quarter. He could hardly run in front of us and was limping at stages chasing defenders out. Once he went forward again the long bombs began. Lockhart, Trac amd Hunt looked dangerous in the second when they had room to move.
  21. All of a sudden we became unpredictable and dangerous up forward due to T Mac going off. Once TMac came back on he’s been lining up on the wing. That’s how it looked like from ground level anyway. Keep going please.
  22. Best Bet Caulfield Race 9 No. 13 Thunder Cloud (W) $5.50
  23. Like us last week, the Crows dominating the early part of third for bugger all reward.
