Very saddened to hear good people are losing their small business and some families are already struggling with losses of income, yet my place of employment has been forced to go the other way due to this panic and hoarding. Basically, I’m in supply chain for a major supermarket. Our distribution centres are experiencing demand volumes never seen before and quite frankly, we can’t get the stock out to supermarkets fast enough. So now, we are open 24/7 and about to start hiring to help us with the pressure. Over 500 employees in our DC and some are working extremely long hours to ensure all stock gets out as quickly as possible. We are a selfish race at the worst of times and I have no idea when things will get better. Again, stay safe ‘Landers.

There’s been a few sports ( NHL, NBA) over the years that have had reduced seasons mainly due to pay disputes. There’s no * next to their name in the Champions column and fans still celebrated the team’s success like crazy. To some the gloss might be taken out a tad due to no fans in stadiums but if we get to the stage where fans are permitted back in for the GF all tickets should go to the members of clubs and not the corporates. Would be a nice touch to acknowledge the supporters for sticking with their clubs through this. Nice to dream.

I read the Crows are live-streaming their training session this morning. I like it, even if the season doesn’t go ahead it could be a pleasant distraction to some. If it does go ahead it gives their fans a chance to see how the team is preparing for R1.

One thing they can do is maybe send their Behavioural awareness officers to supermarkets.

Crazy isn’t it ?? Being a sports fan and seeing a lot of events listed as ‘Postp’ on various websites is nuts. Most of us enjoy 2 hrs of sports as an escape from reality, will this be reality now?

Would you blame anyone Werridee amidst these uncertain times for accepting a refund in some capacity if the clubs went that way? Some call membership a donation but to some like every other purchase it’s about what the product offers (reserved seating, GF guarantee etc,etc) and with that commitment there is an expectation to attend games. Testing times ahead and some people might feel the use of that money is required at home.

What’s next? Maybe we can start a Footy Forum League. Demonland v Bomberblitz the marquee matchup.

Haha, haven’t bothered with it since the ban Wadda all those years ago. I was only a low limit player, working at the casino where you weren’t allowed to punt whilst employed a few of us looked elsewhere for a bit of fun. A few fellas organised regular card games at home for us to socialise away from work also. Was good fun. Might take you up on the Euro account offer, simply for nappies mate. Shelves are dry.

Strange and confusing times, would be people hesitate to go to the footy in the first 3 rounds if the lockout was announced from R4 onwards? Not sure if anyone on here is in panic mode yet but maybe some have altered their thinking on their approach to everyday living. Saw my next door neighbour for the first time in two weeks the other morning and asked him if he went away. He told me he just got back from a Japan holiday (listed as moderate risk) because flights were so cheap he couldn’t resist. Should I now pretend I am deaf when he calls out for a bit of help or ask him daily if he’s had flu like symptoms?

Maybe no news is good news, so we hope. The disappointing thing is some of our boys played at Casey on Saturday and not a peep about how our players performed. Only yesterday I read a young Hawthorn player suffered an ACL injury in that game. With a few of our boys in some doubt for Round 1 it would have been good to hear if anyone made a claim for senior selection. All we know is that C Wagner and Rivers played because they were our only goal kickers against Box Hill.

Fox Sports now reporting the Freo player has been identified.

Richmond was mine by a country mile due to a lot of family feuds about footy over the last 20 years but can’t help having respect for what the club has achieved lately. Won’t be telling my cousins though. The title now belongs to Essendon, Geelong and the new inductee Hawthorn thanks to the crap that came our way from their fans in the 2018 semi.
