As much as they are trying to address the issue listening to Mahoney speak about it being a territory game it seems we will continue with numbers around the ball and try to get it forward as quickly as possible. That tells me if our ‘big’ forwards can’t mark the ball at least create some sort of stoppage to lock it in. Kossie needs to play every game to become that small pressure forward that also makes something out of nothing. Not sure how many games we will see this year but I would leave him in the side for the entirety purely for developmental purposes. He will be a great pick up from the small sample we have seen. Do we play Jackson forward at some stage this year? Pretty nimble for a tall fella and looks above average even when the ball is on the ground.

Hubs, hubs and more hubs. I’m really struggling to see how a scenario like this is going to work at the moment. Apparently most AFL clubs are against players’ families staying with them in the hubs. Sloane admitted in an interview the other night it would be very difficult to leave his wife and 7 month old behind in SA with no support network. Good to see a candid response, I’m sure there are other players with the same feelings as Sloane whilst others would be ready to kick a ball tomorrow anywhere. This comes after Dutch Prime Minister announced a ban on large gatherings including sports will be extended until September 1st. The other day I read the Germans set a possible date for resumption in late May yet neighbours Holland have gone screw this, it’s over. Trying to work out if everyone is on the same page here.
