  1. It’s farcical. How many other sports change or amend rules during the season? The AFL got its wish of Burgoyne being the last player to avoid suspension for a dangerous tackle. Hocking made an urgent amendment to the rule back in June and he stated they are pulling it back to the action not the outcome. We are not measuring it on whether a player gets straight up or is concussed he said. What a load of manure! How do we expect players to adjust when rules are made up on the fly? The game is so complicated already. Danger went into bat for Burgoyne back then, saying it was hard for Burgoyne to know where the ball was because players are taught to play on instinct. ANB’s tackle looked bad, hope the Crows kid is doing ok, but in my mind it wasn’t intentional at all. Sheesh...ANB post game even stated he thought he was getting a free for holding the ball it all happened so fast. Not holding my breath on players being suspended for the action from now on.
  2. It’s been an interesting discussion post game on Fox ht. Ward himself said he played it well because he knew contact was coming. At first glance it looked like over exaggerating post contact. Interesting to see if they do fine him, because if they do are they admitting an umpire error possibly cost a team the game? It can’t be a free and staging at the same time. I don’t necessarily blame the ump in this instant, it all happens quick out there.
  3. Best spin I’ve seen since Warney’s leg breaks by Ward but hey, it’s the Dons.

  5. Apologies if I’ve missed it, is the team announced tonight or tomorrow?
  6. Game on. What happened to Treloar?
  7. Agree Pates, seems harsh on ANB, Burgoyne has avoided suspension twice this year if I’m not mistaken. Viney did get a shoulder to the chin, can’t remember in which quarter though. Could that be the incident?
  8. ANB straight to tribunal , Bennell, Sparrow and Lockhart a little lighter in the pocket with fines offered.
  9. I’m going a 50-50 chance, he’ll either get it or he won’t.
  10. Definitely one person we can’t afford to rest for Sunday’s game. Has become a soothing voice over the last few years.
  11. Going to enjoy the little things from the win. How refreshing to see us kick a goal from a forward stoppage. Max to Viney in the last quarter for a goal was sublime all round, something that happens all too often against us. Possibly May’s best game for the club. He was angry after last week’s game and carried it on. At times it looked like he really wanted to put opponents on their backsides. Great to see. Oliver might get us 3 first rounders after last night. Encouraging signs by Gus in the second half, just not the disposals he amassed, but hitting in really hard at times. Viney probably sitting in the top 3 for B&F at the moment. Pleasing to see JackoWeed on the end of a few.
  12. I thought so too. He was in our top 4 players in the first half when everything wasn’t looking rosy.
  13. Was hoping we can have the joy of a win tonight and an extended squad announcement tomorrow night. Guessing the latter won’t be the case.
  14. 6. Oliver 5. Viney 4. May 3. Petracca 2. Jackson 1. Weid
  15. Noticed Gus running a lot with Crouch in the first half. Was he tagging him hence not many touches? Great second half by Gus
  16. I’m Sorry Ms Jackson, Fritta’s for real
  17. Great work rate Weid. Made sure he spoiled to ground then ran hard back the other way and rewarded himself with a goal.
  18. Salem must think his leg will break if he kicks further than 20m. FFS
  19. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this game but after reading this I’m inclined to agree. It is what it is. Not sure how much heat the Crows have been under in SA, they will be desperate to get their first win and make it very difficult for us. You can only beat what’s in front of you, to some a win might be papering over the cracks and that may well be true but I’d rather look at it as season alive in this testing year. A loss well....we’ll have plenty of time to digest it post game.
  20. Don’t mind these staggered announcements on the changes. We might have the complete puzzle before the official time. Keep the mail coming. So far - IN - AVB, ANB possibly OUT - T Mac , Kozzie
  21. Ridiculous pressure by Port after looking like they were on heavy legs.
  22. For some sick reason I only wanted us to kick one goal for the game and rename the video ‘The Goal’ The sequel to ‘Hell & Back’
  23. @Cards13 the new NHL playoff format is up and running . Good luck to your Avs, hope you smash the Blues. Nice waking up to a Blackhawks win this morning. Playoff hockey won’t be the same without crowds but at least it’s another interest in this difficult year. @Macca any tips ?
  24. Hmmm, since there’s been a couple of anniversary threads lately rewind back to our R10 2007 game against Crows and the team sitting at 0-9 got its first win of the season. Giving myself nightmares already.
