Hopefully in a month or two we can celebrate it with the club. Just finished watching the celebrations again after the siren and I’m glad they did it front of some of our faithful but I felt envious.
  2. This is a magnificent innings so far on post-match. Clap the half century of pages.
  3. I liked Gerard Whateley’s description of Sparrow’s long goal. ” It was up at Sparrows and just kept going “
  4. Can anyone lip read ? After Brayshaw kicked his goal he walked back to the wing with Langdon and it’s clear on the replay he says something to Ed. To me it looked like he said “ I’m fu__ed”. The more I watch the replay the more I fall in love with Gus and I didn’t think it was possible. After playing predominantly as a defensive winger I think he was given a little more license to attack since the Cats R23 clash. His last quarter was pivotal that night, finals series was excellent and he was just brilliant on Premiership night. Just reminded a few that Top 3 picks don’t grow on trees.
  5. Awesome scenes, was shattered for Hunt when he missed out but have a look at him go
front and centre.
  6. There literally wasn’t any middle ground during the blitz. We’ve gone form 19 down and most thinking we’ve missed an opportunity to all of a sudden being 4 goals up at the last break. No time for biting nails and heart attacks. Extraordinary finish to a quarter.
  7. We’ll keep it going even if we run out of things to say WCW, the drive home from work on the Western Ring this arvo was stress free. That’s all I got for now.
  8. The five boys on the bench at the siren must’ve felt like greyhounds in a 297m race waiting for the boxes to ping open. Glad they ran on after T Mac’s kick.
  9. Was unreal and something we’ve done a lot more this season. Protecting teammates.
  10. Thought they were very good last night the umps, a well done to them
one or two might have been a bit dodgy but you get that. An exceptional bit of umpiring came in the third quarter just prior to the Gus mark and goal. Pickett attempts a tackle on Weightman and fell on his back. Was waiting for the whistle against us but upon closer inspection it was in fact Weightman that locked arms with Kozzie to drag him onto his back in order to draw a free. You can clearly hear the ump say play on when he saw it.
  11. Gus was massive in the third. Watching the third quarter now without the live emotions and his work rate is off the charts. Couple of crucial spoils back in defence also. Simply an amazing performance.

  13. How’s the head going Demonlanders? Every bit of vision you watch over the coming days will most likely cause you to shed some tears. It’s probably been mentioned but seeing Kozzie trying to hand his medal to Neville Jetta on the boundary celebration got to me big time.
  14. Trent Rivers
I will allow you to marry my daughter. Didn’t touch the ball a lot but thought you were fantastic all game.
  15. Never have I quoted myself before but i reckon I’m a bit stiff here. 2nd goal and second in Norm Smith. woo hoo Go Dees
  16. If that’s not taking the pizz, I don’t know what is. From 19 down ten mins into 3rd to a 74 point in a GF. When the game seemed against us i thought Jackson, Fritsch and Gus were huge in the third. Trac = Freak. Unbelievable! Enjoy it peeps!
  17. After the prelim some people posted pictures on social media of the members badges they picked at Optus Stadium in the hope some would recognise their family names and some even offered to send them in the mail. Thought @Wallenius Wilhelmsensuggestion of starting a thread where people at Optus picking up badges can post pics was a good one. Some might enjoy seeing their family name when they can’t actually attend. Go Dees!
  18. If anyone at the ground picks up the special badges with members surnames on them maybe stick a pic on here to give those members stuck at home a little boost. Never know, someone might see their family name.
  19. First Goal: Fritsch Norm Smith: Fritsch Most Goals: Fritsch Winning Margin: 31pts
  20. The last two weeks might have dragged but in reality this season has flown by in these difficult times for a lot of people. It’s extremely difficult not to think about the result later on tonight and there’s a touch of sadness that this is the final game of the year already. Only because if you take a few deep breaths and just appreciate how good the club has been this season and the joy they’ve given us the last 6 months you might realise you don’t want this feeling to end. Extremely proud of everyone involved at the MFC on their efforts to make a lifelong dream come true by bringing the Cup back home. They’ve given themselves every possible chance to achieve this dream and I believe they are very capable of handling the occasion to make this a reality. Believe!
  21. Let’s turn this into our own marathon for those having trouble sleeping tonight. Post clips of your favourite MFC plays, quarters, games from this season or previous.
  22. Stop throwing footballs at Max please. In all seriousness, what an experience for those attending today and tomorrow. Do the rest of us proud.
