GAMEDAY: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Dee Zephyr replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thought we started to get the better of them in the second quarter then Brown misses a chance to bring us within 4. Killer when they convert afterwards. -
Oh man….that’s hard to swallow.

Still not convinced Carlton have a good list, on this showing they need a lot. And Davies-Uniacke is becoming a serious player.

GAMEDAY: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs

Weather prediction sounds frightening for tonight. Just bloody win anyway possible and put a 6 point buffer on them. One thing I want to see is Gus back on the wing for this one, he was instrumental early for us last time we played them with some crucial intercepts and positioning. 70% of his possessions last week came in the forward half with JJ getting more wing time. -
Let the games begin, very interesting. Like Harmes back and Demonland’s much loved Ump number 22 might be getting some comments come game day I’m guessing.

Maybe they should move the game to Marvel. On the Gus & Gawny podcast with Spargo as guest they said Marvel is better to play at without crowds than the G. The G just feels weird. I believe we are winless at the G without crowds over the last two seasons. Interesting to also hear Gus use the word psychology when we were a few goals up at quarter time against the Hawks. Something that hasn’t happened all that often this season although we were up by a few against the Dogs last time we played them.

Who the hell is our goal kicking coach!?

Up to the individual to choose between listening to ANB mention the word ‘ lessons’ or view the background where Kozzie is working under Stafford’s tutelage for better goal kicking. Not a long clip but a bit of something nonetheless. -
Either way our opposition analyst can get straight to work, only has to view one tape from yesterday’s Suns Dogs game. A top two clash with no crowds possibly again, bugger.

Anyone else belt out Beyoncé’s tune ‘Irreplaceable’ like my wife does when we kick out from a behind? ‘To the left, to the left’ Saw numerous times players on their own to the right with hands up but always ignored.

No longer unnoticed and very important to us when May and Lever have an off day. Some massive one on ones he won in the last. I bet a lot of supporters’ hearts skipped a beat when he went off clutching a low hammy.

I was fearing Petty out J Smith in half way through the second quarter. Phew.

The performance after quarter time was ugly, can understand the disappointment for some especially after we announced a membership record during the week. They showed a clip of Goody announcing the record to the players and for the first time this year I thought this would be a comfortable victory pregame. In the end i felt relieved we managed to hang on to 2 points and stay on top when it looked like we would get nothing, that’s just me though. Seriously, it has been a crazy last few weeks where anything can happen. My main concern apart from the overall performance was our inability to close out the game the last few minutes when it was presented to us like some have pointed out already. I’d be working on that during the week on the track and who knows where that will be with the covid drama. Petty and Hunt were our best two defenders I thought, saw Hunt make numerous dashes to free himself and was ignored multiple times. We needed to use him breaking the lines more like Hawthorn did with that number 16 to good effect. Must simply bank 4 points next week in what will be a tough assignment.

Last 3 minutes - More composure needed.
-
Petty was good, especially in the last quarter.

A real good 30 seconds there for Brad Hill

Sink a few more ales guys, tonight’s game likely to be delayed. Tigers stuck in traffic apparently.

Was wondering why I came across this at work today, ‘‘twas a sign. Good luck AVB!

I hear Wembley Stadium is available Doc. Imagine the fans reaction when we actually get awarded a score for hitting the post.

Hold on a sec Jaded, we’ve gone up a little in class in the north, it’s now called Pacific Epping.
-
Movement already, GWS v Swans game moved to QLD this weekend, both teams flying out of VIC this morning according to SEN along with the Bulldogs. Let’s hope we get on top of this quickly.
-
SFA, Jaded mentioned the outcome above.
-
Yep Jaded, had to rewind because I thought I missed hearing as to why. Should have known better than to waste 30 seconds posting what’s on the news these days.
-
7 News just said T Mac checked in for scans today. The reason why is coming up shortly. Anyone heard anything?

All aboard the Roo train should we beat Hawthorn next week. If the Roos beat Essendon not only do the Bombers hit a snag towards finals the Hawks go bottom.

Unreal, what a round and it’s back on in three days.
