The problem is that Trengove does everything slowly: running, kicking, handpassing and thinking. He wasn't drafted at pick two to just lay tackles.

I still can't believe we let Rivers go.

Scully was almost BOG last week.
-
It goes back to Daniher as well, he was great at using excuses to try and lower expectations, no matter how realistic they were it doesn't fill anyone with confidence.

That's classic, I don't remember that one.

Life just isn't as funny without it. Some of their stuff was pure gold.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Straight Sets Simon replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wasn't Trengove linked through text messages to this? -
I like Tapscott and he should be a very good player as he has a lot of positive attributes, but there has always been something missing. He has no lateral movement, almost none at all. Great in a straight line but he makes Matthew Bate's turning circle look like that of Cyril Rioli. Again, I like him but it is a massive limitation.

The more I think of it, Jetta is a massive loss as he is our only genuine small defender.

Brisbane by 50+ points.

Gawn has not gawn, he has well and truly arrived

I agree, Gawn is the best thing to happen to Jamar. -
Those words were pretty close. The same old stuff about training, games experience got a mention as did how well the two captains lead.

He has a record, will get three weeks.

Culture - It's time to quit stuff like this

The booing of Scully is the worst, especially because he was just about BOG. -
Every week we are a chance, it just depends if the players can be bothered or not.

Easily the most influential player today, love him. -
I noticed that too.
-
He did a lot of rubbish things at the start and a lot of good things at the end.

These kicks should be bread and butter for any AFL player. It's like congratulating him for tying up his boot laces properly.

I'm talking over very short distances (which is all it takes). As you correctly point out Hayes has good lateral movement, but that further backs up my point in that he can have a little burst sideways (one or two steps), Trengove does very little in bursts.
-
He was woeful today, I lost count the number of times he got the ball, stopped then just handballed backwards or sideways to a teammate under pressure.
-
Lenny Hayes and Joel Selwood aren't quick, but they can be explosive in short burts (one or two steps or with a handpass in close), Trengove doesn't have that. He is getting better no doubt but everything he does (even the way he talks) is slow.
-
I question whether he wants to play in the AFL. Would not be surprised at all if he went back to basketball.

This.

The more I think of it our lack of leadership over recent years contributes to a lack of confidence. They need someone to show the way, to set the example especially in the middle. Someone highlighted when Sylvia broke about five tackles and kicked the ball forward in the last quarter, we need more of that.
