Give it a rest, read what Nineteen posted and see you next year

I follow most of them, it is buillshit, Twitter is quiet, assume they meant Moloney, a current player would not tweet that anyway

According to the Media we have our new President
Satyriconhome replied to Demon Stalwart's topic in Melbourne Demons
Apart from spelling the name incorrectly, is the addition necessary? Means your posts will get ignored by some -
He is a media commentator, he has been watching the list for the last two years, he knows exactly where it is at There will be a few on here who will get excited just with the thought of Roos' coaching, the rest of us will want to see action first, he is a very good coach, but when he took over at Sydney, it wasn't exactly in the same place at MFC is now, he had been an assistant, Eade had just lost the players. I wouldn't mind Roos as coach, but I am not thinking he is the Messiah
-
I was referring more to the pressure that would inevitably come if he accepted the position, in the couple of years he has been out, the reporting of everything to do with footy has gone up another couple of notches, he would need to get used to the 24hr scrutiny that is now part and parcel of the job. I think this is one of the things he will be weighing up in any decision, does he or his family want another crack at it, this on top of rebuilding a club from the ground up again
-
Make sure you note down that date and time of that statement WYL, if you are correct I will buy you a drink, if not you can buy me one
-
If Roos takes the job, he has been out of footy for a couple of years, so it is going to take him at least a season to get back up and running and get his backroom staff the way he wants it, he then has to work on the team, players are under contract, it is going to take at least two years to get the team together, we are talking about a team here that at the moment is taking beltings by 10 or more goals each week.............Roos will not come in and suddenly next season we have 40000 members and making finals.......posters need to realise that...........unrealistic expectations......happens to both coaches and players on this board
-
Lov e to see the optimism, no we won't, the fairweathers will watch the NAB cup and the first few rounds, they will do this with any coach from now on, then if it looks promising we may see 35000 again next year, 40000 is when finals looks a possibility, so another 2 or 3 years, most of the welded on members understand footy so they will sign on regardless
-
So if we do the amazing and we get Roos, how long do posters think/dream it will take him to get the list a. into finals b. the premiership Mine a. at least 2 years b. at least 4 years

Neeld Sacked with Craig as Interim Coach
Satyriconhome replied to Satyriconhome's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not to a lot of posters on here it won't, disappointed we had to do what we did but understandable, but it seems that some think Peter Jackson is taking the field as a clearance specialist this weekend and we are suddenly going to start winning games of footy. I hope so, I would like to see us maybe snag a couple, it will make going to the games a bit more enjoyable than it has been, but if you think that the corner has been turned, you are wrong, long term is still the target If and when we get a new coach, it will mean new assistants, new game plan, new players...........at least another 2 to 3 years, if we hold our nerve this time -

Inspired by Arnold's visit last week were we?......sit behind a keyboard and take pot shots at people, seems rather soft wouldn't you say? -

Craig had input into getting Rodan to the club, sorry -

What do you want him to do, he showed class.....more than can be said for others.. -
Not sure if it was meant to be hunourous, coz if it is, didn't get it, read it as criticism of some posters, anyway back on topic, Kennett is only interested in Kennett, his ego needs his head in the spotlight/limelight/media.......sees MFC as a perfect vehicle to do it, would also allow him to pontificate on footy and settle a few personal scores
-
I think you are on a bit of thin ice, the majority that post on here, as far as I know do more for the Club than just a membership, hence the reason they don't want somebody like Kennett in charge

Neeld Sacked with Craig as Interim Coach
Satyriconhome replied to Satyriconhome's topic in Melbourne Demons
If the Club has made the decision, they will have made if for reasons, I will listen to the reasons, and if I am unhappy with the decision, if it is correct, then I will tell them, that is basically all I can do as a member and supporter. Personally I don't think it will change anything quickly -
A source who is usually good has told me this is about to happen, will confirm when I can
-
Oh well whoopee doo, so we have posters on here maligning the Club's exclusivity and now we are celebrating which college a supposed backer is from If Kenett was passionate about the Club, he would have bought a membership 5 years ago when we needed it, not a couple of weeks ago. Which bit don't people get, he is angling for the AFL to parachute him in, so he doesn't have to face a vote. Kennett did not turn Hawthorn around, Ian Dicker did He is not what we need
-
Does he still treat others without depression with arrogant contempt like he used to, don't want a President like that, and yes I do, so I can recognise it No it's not you are a member, you can ask any question you like, if you felt the need you could ask for the Board minutes

Robert Walls' assessment of the Demons
Satyriconhome replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
Evans, has had a serious back injury, rehabilitated himself, got into the team and is turning up every week, still hasn't had a full pre season, suggest you go back to junior highlights, I know it is not a true indicator, but the talent is there McKenzie, yes I know, frustrates me as well, but leads in the grunt work, you can see glimpses of an outside developing, but with the inexperience in the midfield he is not getting much of an opportunity to work anywhere else Watched and played (injuries and arthritis to prove it) for over 30 years, think Strauss is a bit more like Watts, tends to try and stay on his feet, has always played that way, think he has the tools, but like you may not last, but soft is a bit harsh in my book..........as for Pedersen, new to the team, another one that should be given some slack, again has not played that many games at AFL level...bit like any big guy takes a while to realise you can use your size...Max Gawn included -

I don't agree with Terlich - for somebody to show consistency with less than 10 games under his belt, another full pre season McKenzie - you need to watch the stoppages Evans - again for somebody to show the consistency with less than 10 games under his belt, upside and a goal kicker Pedersen and Strauss - what is the defintion of soft? Blease - like everybody love his attack, but concerned about him disappearing in games Fitzpatrick - has had half a dozen games, so wiped? -

WJ, point taken, as you will see I even mentioned the warning, so from now on once the name callers start as I try and stay on topic I'll make sure I point it out -

Ah well, I tried, but twisting the words again, hopefully you will get your wish next week....what will you do if you don't? PS The Bulldogs changed their name quite a few years ago -

You don't speak to anybody, your complete ignorance of facts in some your posts demonstrates that.....so don't try that one...that's just sad....... Last person I spoke to was Don McLardy at Fed Sq last weekend, I don't know the cleaners, never met them. Your comprehension skills failed you again also, I said the falling attendances and memberships were matched by those clubs mainly because of on field performance, that is what happens, fair weather supporters jump off, no matter the club This is supposed to be a topic about a rather lazy attempt at journalism by Robert Walls, which I have commented on, again you can't see that the omissions he made, pointed out by myself and other posters, ruins the validity of the whole article, as long as it bashes the MFC you are all for it
