  1. To answer your question because I think it stays on topic, is contrary to what is reported or believed, most had bought in to the Neeld plan for development, and they had 'survived' for want of a better word to the bye, for the Club to then act I think 'shocked' them, as I said above I genuinely believe a lot of them have no idea why they fall to bits on game day, it isn't/wasn't the game plan, it wasn't Neeld's coaching etc etc
  2. This is a training thread, can we leave the Neeld bashing aside, look forward to tomorrow, they players have moved on, can we
  3. I only put those comments because a couple of posters asked me to ask, there are a couple of players I can rely on to be blunt and truthful with me, so I don't necessarily agree with what you have said, I think that because the coach has to deal with 40 odd personalities his method can occasionaly go wrong, I am paraphrasing what the players said, so yes not everybody in the squad 'loved' Neeld, but then again I don't think Craig will have everybody on side either.....it doesn't happen
  4. Agreed, I think we should all take a leaf out of the players book and stop reading the newspapers, and listening to Barrett's or Stevens latest bit of scuttlebutt "we can exclusively reveal"
  5. Dawes did the whole session and didn't look hampered at all. One interesting thing with the midfield walkthrough, only Spencer as a ruck was out there, no Pedersen, Fitzpatrick.
  6. Sylvia was with with midfield group for walkthrough and Watts wasn't, the line ups in the training drills seemed to be as lined up except Watts who played forward, the both trained really well
  7. I arrived about 9.30 to have a look at the Casey squad train, and the midfield group was out on the ground already doing walkthroughs with Craig, Royal and Greaves The Casey group was just warming up and then they trained, one noticeable thing, Hogan bouncing around like a caged animal Jack Viney was doing laps under the supervision of one of the fitness staff (see below for more) The main group started to train at 10am sharing the field with the Casey group Main emphasis today seemed to moving the ball, at the end of session both groups joined in this drill type Some points Jack Grimes was off on the other field doing some training including hitting the tackle bag, asked him at the end and he said he will be back in full training next week Jack Viney got thrown off the training track for being out there too long, I spoke to him afterwards and he confirmed that was what happened, he is putting on some serious size and admitted doing heaps of weight training whilst off his feet, told him he would get thrown out of that as well for doing too much, of course said he already had, he reckons he is about 2 weeks away Chip Frawley did the whole session, didn't look inconvenienced at all, asked him why he wasm't playing, said the Physio said no for this week Jordie McKenzie is a week away, hyperextended his elbow, had a strange looking brace on it Joel Macdonald was doing laps, looks a week away as well Jack Trengove said that the last couple of games before the bye were when he felt he was back at full match fiitness after his foot injury, freshened up with the bye and is ready to go Mitch Cliisby is excited to be 'living the dream', wants to just play his role as well as he can Tom Couch left the session early, seemed to have a bit of stiff back or hammy Tried to engage Josh Mahoney in a conversation but seemed to have his Football Manager face on, just hoping for a good showing and a week without a headline in the paper Craig took a few players asisde one on one during the session, saw him speak to Couch, Gillies, at the end of the session he kept back Toumpas, Nathan Jones, Watts and Trengove to have a chat, in the middle of the ground, so couldn't hear a thing I asked a few players about how they felt and they all gave the same answer as Col Garlland in his presser this morning on the Club website Bit shocked at what happened to Neeld All had a good relationship with him (contrary to reports) They have to support the decision and move on Felt partially responsible for what happened Absolutely no idea and are frustrated by why they can't take the training track form onto the field during games Looking now to giving Craig the support and having a real crack to try and prove everybody wrong Any questions I will try and answer
  8. Again, read in the newspaper so it must be right, can we just wait and see what eventuates, the Club needs assistance, the AFL cannot afford to get the membership offside, so it will be advisory from them, like they advise every club, witht the NRL taking a stand, do you think the AFL didn't say to the Saints to stand Milne down
  9. Nobody is denying your right to be furious about the many, many, many, many, many failures of the Club, the Board, the administration, the boot studder, the guy strolling past AAMI Park on the wrong day, but the Coach has gone, the Board is in the middle of a shake up, the team is playing on Saturday, the AFL think we have a plan in place....... .do you think you have a monopoly om being furious about what has occurred in the last 6 years, never mind 2, no of course not, mistakes have been made, everybody acknowledges that, but there has also been some good come out of the storm as well. Up to now the score is 2 coaches, 1 CEO and 2 Board members who have paid for those mistakes, that not enough accountability for you? Move on, I like what Peter Jackson has said, I like what Neil Craig has said, looking forward to footy on Saturday without a sense that we will be headline news everywhere the following week, looking forward to what comes out of the reviews going on etc etc...........................the trait amongst some Melbourne supporters to continually look over their shoulder at the past and not let it go baffles me
  10. Just a small vent, the revisionism on here in the last few days has been wondrous to read, watched Mitch quite a few times, and had a couple of chats, reckon if he is picked will acquit himself really well
  11. If this is true and he has a poor game, then it will be an excuse for another few pages of "just another [censored] poor example of MFC *enter appropriate from drop down list".........oh to be an MFC player, the support you receive
  12. Big noting...actually being able to talk to employees and players of the Club I support....anybody can do it, they don't bite, well some of them anyway
  13. coz like me he questions where you get the idea about the way the Club handles employees, does it do something different to other large organisations, if you have someone on contract and you sack before end of contract, you have to pay out...or are there other things, how many Club employees do you know? You can be as furious as you want to be but if it is based on rumour/innuendo etc, we need to ask why?
  14. If you or other posters can't see Garland has taken another step, including into leadership, well who am I to argue, let's get back to trashing everything about the last 2 years..........Neil Craig is right, that's what happens now
  15. So can't back up your statement, ah well.......
  16. Can't help yourself really can you, although funny Clisby, I'll give the doubters a direct quote from Fed Sq.......".gee Mitch you have taken a couple of good hits lately"...he got absolutely cleaned up at Port......"love the aggression and hard stuff, that's what you play footy for"....so no not Cale Morton.....agree with what the Master says, has really good clean skills, even in the wet at Sandy.... and as I have pointed out before, Maia Westrupp could be a real left field find
  17. If you feel you've scored a points victory then you can go away happy, pal, I am allowed to interpret it as written WYL, yes and this has been discussed, but you do it for the Club, which is bigger than any individual
  18. Would Nathan Jones telling me to my face that Mark Neeld had turned his footy around help?....probably not...and back then who would have you preferred, who was available and why?..I await your answer with interest
  19. The last line of your post was a statement not a question "I find it hard to believe etc"........hence my post to give it a rest, if you have concerns do what I do, tell the Club, why spoil a good post with a kick at the Club like so many others on this democratic forum
  20. There seems to be a misconception on here that anybody who defends/likes/accepts whatever........Mark Neeld....... is delusional It has to be remembered that most posters on this board have either been playing or watching footy for quite a while, so therefore have a good understanding of footy I was satisfied when we recruited Mark Neeld, because as Gary Lyon said, he was the best candidate available at that time I had the opportunity to listen/speak to him on quite a few occasions, I understood what he was trying to achieve I did not agree with everything he did, I am in the camp that Trengove should not have been made captain, as an example, but he was not the complete disaster that everybody now sits righteously typing, agree the onfield performance this season was/is deplorable, but the players must also bear some of the responsiibility for that, but the development of N Jones, Tom McDonald, Garland just to name three under his watch says that in some things he got it right Everybody seems to think I defend the Club, what I do, I actually listen to what is being said and what action is taken, not rumour, innuendo, hypotheitcals etc etc, that way I can make considered judgements about everything MFC. I continually express how I feel as a member/supporter to people inside the Club I don't think the right thing to do at this moment was sack Neeld, but I understand why the Club had to do it, I would have preferred watiing until season end. I applaud the placing of Neil Craig as an interim coach, and I hope we get both the Board and Footy Dept restructure right But I also know this is going to take time, and there is no Messiah waiting in the wings to drag us kicking and screaming into finals next year, so again I will listen to facts, not rumour, innuendo, badmouthing, the rewriting of history, hindsight pundits etc etc
  21. Neil Neil Craig mentioned the pressure that Senior Coaches are under these days, Neeld is not alone if 'he was going mental' in the box, 'Clarkson versus the wall' comes to mind, these unnecessary digs at Neeld are becoming tiresome, not defending him in anyway, but [censored] happens, if you can't stand a tirade from the coach you are in the wrong job, stats man, assistant, player.......Neeld has now gone, can we move on please
  22. Gold
  23. Can only think it is Moloney, but he hasn't added to his wonderful contribution the other day, it would be career suicide for a player to do it, sometimes a joke tweet is sent out when they leave their phones unlocked, but doubt that as well, can only think the 'journalist' is looking at bogus accounts, there are a couple of Col Sylvia and Jesse Hogan floating around
  24. The last line of your post, the Club tries to save money, there are volunteers who happily go in and assist, as I said see you there next year, you will enjoy it
  25. I was actually thinking about going Friday, although I notice in another post it is 3pm today, depends on whether I post or not, the paranoia displayed by some posters is becoming tiresome.
