  1. Unless you were actually sitting next to Junior, you have no idea what he got, it is just conjecture, what do you expect of Magner, spoke to him quite a few times, large ego, that has had a kicking.........just suck it up........and it was Jon Ralph doing the reporting
  2. Rich is not a gun, he is a good solid midfielder, keep him off his left side and his output drops (agree with John Dee, has not "improved") Agreed Wines had a good solid year, but in a rapidly improving midfield, so wasn't carrying a lot, output fell away towards the end of the season, would wait and watch the second year Suddenly caution goes to the wind and we have long term contracts being thrown around for a second year player No comparison, but we had to take Toumpas when he was still there, me personally I wanted Wines, not because I thought he would be a superstar but like Rich the potential to be a good solid midfielder, but I can see after watching Toumpas at Casey why we did take him Edit for atrocious spelling and grammer, must be tired
  3. How many games did you watch Taggert live to come to that opinion?
  4. Gee some posters on here must get dizzy from all the spinning from changing direction so rapidly. Roos is appointed coach and you can hear the orgasmic groans all over Melbourne "now we will see some changes" Taggert is delisted and what?.....why has this happend?.....why not delist A, B, C.... So this footy dept is inept as well is it?
  5. Hopefully what we will see from a Roos coached side, is no superstars to begin with but as I said 22 players each playing their role to a consistently high standard, the Swans had any number of players who if you looked at them in isolation you wouldn't think much but put them in a team.........and Roos has made sure he has hired guys who did exactly that to show the way....Mathews, Allison, McPherson, Miller........
  6. You need the 22 players who are picked, to play their role to a consistently high standard each week
  7. Good grief, I actually agree with most of what you have written there, it must be a new year Eveybody is an expert in hindsight (my pet hate), staying on topic Gysberts was one of the most naturally gifted footballers in the draft in his year, same with Morton, unfortunately that is not enough these days and you get found out Mistakes happen, agreed the club made some poor drafting choices which ended up being compounded by many other issues, but to actually lay the blame at the feet of one person lacks an understanding into exactly how many people have input into who is drafted. Every club makes them, Tambling, Johns, Gumbleton, the list is endless, but it is all in the past now Take a deep breath, let it go and wait for the next big dip on the roller coaster that is being a Melbourne supporter
  8. Introduced, as an Englishman, by an RSM who said I would make a good 'rover', thought he was being derogatory but of course had to agree with him, played in Vic, Qld, ACT and Vic again, all fierce amateur comps, as for the 'younger' brigade who are glad to see the back of the 'biff', it was character building, finally gave up at the age of 50 when my knee wouldn't behave any more
  9. What we play against Casey in Darwin do we?, and Richmond play against Coburg in Cairns?, gee give it a rest, it is going to happen
  10. I assume that if supporters keep trotting out the 'NT hangover' excuse, then the players will have to remove 'elite and professional' from their job description. An example of a top European Soccer player, who averages 65 to 75 games in a 9 month period and can play in three different countries in snow, bright sunshine, and humidity in the space of 10 days, with the air travel in between....makes an 8 hour round trip spaced out over 4 days look easy, besides which the last couple of years have been considerably cooler than what was expected We have just been a team shot of confidence for the last few years which coincided with the start of the Darwin games, but if supporters want to start lining up excuses for next year feel free
  11. Gee a post about the previous regime and no mention of Cam Scwab, so the therapy is working WYL, ring the Club and ask you may get a surprise, they will be able to tell you exactly, I know I have rung quite a few.....can I ask do you go to any games at Etihad?
  12. That's the number they play to at Skoda, trying to build a market
  13. We are also trying to do that as well, but have you thought that perhaps a person looking to support, seeks out information comes to this site and finds "supporters" doing nothing but bleat about the Club....anyway if you want to encourage new supporters, Nineteen is on a recruiting drive again for volunteers to ring out to members both old and new, feel free to come and join us
  14. Hey chap, ever been to a Darwin game, I have, 3 of them, (not this year unfortunately life and a daughters wedding took priority), last time I was up there went to a local shop, we stay out of the city centre and shopkeeper (who was Asian, and yes he was going to the game) chatted happily to me about the footy, knew quite a bit about the Dees.....so sorry you are wrong.......by the way, I travel to quite a few games, and if you are talking proximity, how about living on the corner of Vic Parade and Hoddle St, is that close enough to the G. Melbourne play in the AFL, much to WYL's disgust, changed the name from VFL a few years ago I , like everybody else, want the Club to succeed and get on a solid footing both on and off the field, so to quote Jim Stynes "whatever it takes"
  15. Exactly seconded
  16. Bleat, bleat, bleat.....er bleat....supporters..... hah!
  17. Read what he wrote, "I'll play midfieid, halfback and wing".......so Terlich, Clibsy,....on the wing Barry, Kent etc......I check all my facts before posting
  18. Actually it is the hindsight warriors whose throat I jump down, I could understand the recruitment of certain players last season, but it ended in tears, for a myriad of reasons, then the "i told you so brigade' start the bleating, I thought the recruitment of Byrnes was a gamble, but understood why it happened, thought we had gone past that, hence the recruitment of Cross to me is a gamble......as I said happy to be proved wrong...but you read it here first
  19. Actually no. just stating a personal opinion, as I said I may be wrong, unlike some I will be prepared to admit that, just think that perhaps Cross' time has gone, but hopefully better judges than me in Roos/Viney/Taylor don't think so, not confirmed on Club website yet though There wasn't ineptitude in the past, there were different approaches, some worked, some didn't, I am not a fan of hindsight, I wasn't overjoyed when we picked up Byrnes last year, thought the same thing, still to see him reproduce Geelong form, think under Roos he will either HAVE to or will spend the year at Casey Nice to see you can type one handed as well, you really do enjoy yourself don't you, unhappy childhood was it? or you still in it?
  20. I love the hypocrisy on this site, last year we had 'we should play the kids", "why we getting older players who can't get a game with their Club", now it's Daniel Cross and the orgasmic sounds coming from the board are positively embaressing. I have an opinion, I am happy to be proven wrong, I will put my hand up, as you know I will As for the experts on Big Footy applauding the move, wow, Big Footy.......most have to type one handed....
  21. That concerns me even more, what keeping Terlich, Barry, Kent, Blease out of the side?, I will wait and see, hopefully I am wrong, if I am i will put my hand up I just think he has had his day. Spoke to quite a few other teams supporters at work this morning, we all chat as we arrive, they all thought we have been doing really good business with Vince, Tyson and Michie but none are sold on this, same as me
  22. I am actually a bit disappointed we have signed Cross, he wasn't getting a game at the Dogs last season, so there must be a reason. Yes we needed a bit more in the midfield, but a guy on the wrong side of 30, doesn't kick goals and is slowish, yes courageous, but has the game passed him by? We tried this last year with pretty mixed results. You get experience as a young guy by playing games, I hope he doesn't hold one of the young ones back by playing The other 3 signings, yes all for them, Vince is a proven goalkicker as well as a midfielder and the other two could be anything
  23. You are only looking for an opening so 'the hated' can be jettisoned, personally I hope the rumours about Cross are not true, he wasn't getting a game with the Bulldogs for a reason, we tried this last year and it failed, if we want to go down that track I would prefer Chapman or Didak..........Hogan makes my last on the list, so used to watching him at Casey forgot him...quel horreur!!!!!....42 on the list
  24. Can somebody explain why we have to delist, at present we have 32 players on the list, plus the 3 we have brought in makes 35, possibly 3 in the draft totalling 38 players, plus 3 rookies at the moment makes 41, we aiming on this board not to have a full list then? Also as far as trading goes, you want a player who couldn't crack a regular game in what was acknowledged as the worst team in the comp, yeah right that sounds a good deal
