From the Club website Neville Jetta (selection No.50) Melbourne, 12/2/90, 180cm, 80kg Nev brings some of those qualities we speak about with the other boys hes a great character and he works very hard. He just hasnt had that continuity with pre-seasons under his belt. [Redrafting him again] was pretty simple for us. Just about says it all, I actually spoke to him a couple of weeks ago, club had said they obviously need midfielders, they were pleased with his last 6 weeks at Casey but he was sort of last cab off the rank, they delisted and told him to keep training, he intimated to me that the Club would rookie him, but paraphrase "but it is a business these days, so I can only train as hard as I can"......I asked Jade Rawlings and he said "he had a really good last six weeks, we'll see how he goes"......to me that meant it was always the plan to rooke him Nev if he gets a run at it may thrive, if not in another year he is gone, where is the issue, we got rid of Magner much to everybody's horror this year, wonder if it will be the same next year By the way Nev's best spot is off the half back flank, never been able to settle there, anybody who watched the last couple of Casey finals will have seen that, he was Casey's best in the last game playing there

Training - Wednesday 27th November, 2013
Satyriconhome replied to inRooswetrust's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry WJ at work this morning, I'll accept distinctive, individualistic, I even get eccentric sometimes, but that's more to do with my taste in music and films, actually was at the Isle of Wight, so got to see Hendrix live, although I also have weekends in the late 60's and early 70's that don't exist, so may have seen him more than once.....how about imagining Captain Beefheart at 4am in the morning at the Bickershaw festival.....now that was seriously scary..........chemical intake notwithstanding I agree with we have had some interesting interpretations of what is being seen, which I think is good, seems to be some new sets of eyes going so it will be interesting to see what they 'observe' Not sure if anybody saw Maia Westrupp apart from me at this first training session or two last year, if they did and they are there today would like to know what improvement/development if any they see in him, I know he doesn't cost anything but would have thought with the new broom this year, if Roos didn't see anything he wouldn't still be there I like to chat to the players, because in between the company lines, you get a bit of truth now and again -
Nah...... this is not even close, speaking as someone who has been on the end of some classics....there are not nasty vitriol filled private messages involved here....yet... Anyway back on the training theme..............I thought I would pass on this comment from Chip Frawley as he passed me after doing some of the 2-300 metres runs....."I'm getting old"..... For all the watchers at training by the way, Tommy Mc who looked great during the runs reckons he is still slightly off the pace.

Nathan Jones said as much yesterday, I was happy to see the circle work yesterday, and the actual speed, intensity and enjoyment in the way it was carried out On Jack Watts, I asked him yesterday about playing in the midfield, said he was looking forward to it, getting himself really fit, got the impression he is doing extra runnning for endurance, close up he has toned up, but they are making sure 'not too much' Jack Grimes was there as well and said paraphrase...."wait till u see Jack in the middle"
-
I have just listened to Roos' media interview from Fed Sq yesterday, the last bit about Sam Blease made for interesting listening, paraphrase "we have to get him fit first", this is what I have thought from watching training for a few weeks, the "rehab' group seems to consist of players who have had a serious injury in last few years, or recurring niggles, they obviously have to get 'fit' before they are allowed into main group.........and they are not getting flogged, it all seems very controlled McKenzie and Frawley with their calves Garland with his foot and ankle Strauss with his leg and shoulder Tapscott's run of niggles Blease with his leg etc etc
-
You are kidding me about BH's knowledge, it is all second or third hand, the ink isn't dry on his birth certificate yet, hence the puerile personal attacks on anybody who questions him or he has nothing valid to add Going back to topic Maia Westrupp has been hitting the weights for over six months now, so yes he is bulking up Toumpas is really intense at training already, hardly smiles, hardly speaks, just pumping it out, he looks 'November' great
-
Does that mean I can now do them and take the p***.......aahhh bliss
-
You do know your village is still looking for you?
-
Thanks for that, I will continue, as I said very thick skin, afraid a couple of posts went a bit too far there which is sad, when I keep reiterating we are all MFC supporters......would be nice though if that champion of 'egging on from the sidelines" Ben Hur offered up his apologies as well (not to me).....won't hold my breath
-
Heard at least three people complain about lack of toilet facilities, either early drinkers or incontinence, remember when you were young and going on a car trip, go before.. anyway back to Tapscott, got nothing when I asked him if there was an issue...didn't want to push it I prefer to use sponsor money on footy dept not signage around a public easy access oval...graffiti? Gee Master, glad I am still trim
-
With the Rookie and PSD, found it interesting we had nobody there today to look at, assume we already have some in mind, maybe it is the short timeframe Tried as usual to get something out of Jason Taylor, and as per the nomr, not a cracker
-
Agreed, he just looks the part of a grunt midfielder, have heard that about him With Dawes, apart from the fact that he is not running, he looks in great shape, assume he is doing a lot of off leg work
-
As I have said before I think what they are hoping is everybody will be back on track post Xmas, Riley, Kent and Dawes seem to be the only one's not running at the moment (touch wood and all that), when i asked he told me his recovery from broken leg was exactly where it should be, fitness/coaching staff don't seem particularly disturbed with him over anything......seems to be doing the weights, looks solid in his training top
-
Come on OD, November optimism, I actually asked what the problem was and was told it was his GPS unit playing up, he changed his boots into runners to do the laps
-
It's November, today was sloppy, Roos for me doesn't seem that bothered about hitting targets at the moment, it all seems to be about working as a team, I think that method works you get used to knowing where somebody is going to be, and you learn to kick there, we even did the old fashiioned circle work today with the ballAs for the speed, I quoted the time he did to show the kid can be seriously quick, not to start a debate on chronography, we need a bit of speed, Salem and JKH are no slouches either
-
Tyson is fit, his knee is strapped for precaution as he build up to full fitness, just give it extra support, I asked him where the strapping was when I spoke to him and he had it in his hand, he held it up, so doesn't need it after training
-
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with him at all, think this is new regime, because he keeps breaking down, think they are starting the 'rebuild' again if that makes sense, I did ask him and just got a nod
-
Was there Dom Tyson had his knee heavily strapped, asked him why at end, said hammy is fine now but as he lifts training they just want the knee supported, this is what he 'broke' last year Fitzy was absentee, he is crook with a cold, so went home, last thing they want is whole squad with it Dawes and Riley went for a walk around the tan Watts training with midfield group, asked him, said he is looking forward to playing in there New guys, JKH oozes confidence, Salem aboslutely rapt to realise the dream, very mature for an 18yr old, Hunt like a rabbit in the headlights, managed to extract from him best time for 100metres 10.9 so seriously quick They been told this week will be an 'orientation week' and the hard work starts next week Kent's patella is still playing up There was a sort of rehab group again, consisted of Spencer, Tyson, Jamar, McKenzie, Tapscott, Strauss, Garland, Byrnes, Gawn, Frawley, McDonald and probably others I can't remember As an hirstute person, very impressed with 'Pickles' Evans' pornstar moustache Any questions will try and answer

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AIDAN RILEY
Satyriconhome replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Gee some of the posters on here really have some issues, you do need to get out from behind the keyboard I don't tweet to get replies, they only reply amongst themselves, opens the door for trolls, why they don't come on here as well.........I get acknowledgement when I talk to them or they favourite it.....not really bothered, put the photos there for anyone that is interested Hence why I spoke to Aidan and took his photo, asked him about his leg, like I do with all the players, if you don't want to read it then don't -

I spoke to him at training and took his photo, it's on my twitter, his recovery is where it should be, he was leaving to do off legs work with Dean Kent, no limp, no strapping -

So what number were you drafted at, or hoping for a rookie spot? -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAYDEN HUNT
Satyriconhome replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
We have already started this, with Andrew Nichol and Brad Miller, when I spoke to Brad he said he was going to work exclusively with the young guys once the saason is up and running alongside Nichol and of course Welsh at Casey, from what I saw last year at Casey they get along reallly well, so we are already down that track hence the comment from Taylor re 'the development program we have in place" -
