  1. Just a word of warning, if and when Declan gets a game in the AFL side, I suggest you stay away from the match day thread, unless you are in the condition your name suggests
  2. Sorry H, it is the one thing that has stood out this season and I checked with Goody, you train as you play, the physicality, BenKen put a beautiful hit on Sam Frost the other day and it was praised all round, thankfully Frost bounced up
  3. SMJ I have been attending training regularly since they moved from Junction Oval, so I can tell if a player is struggling, I know of one player who is struggling at the moment You will find that it is the information I provide that is regarded as untrue by some posters
  4. IWS we have covered this before, they keep asking the supporters, and those that bother to answer in surveys say scarf, a lot of the femaie support don't want a cap either, they don't wear them. Here is an interesting exercise for you, stand outside of a membership tent before one of the first home games and watch the reaction if they have underestimated the demand for supporters picking up their scarf
  5. Sue, I get told a few things, so do another supporter or two who attend training, we choose not to post what we are told, as I have stated before if you ask Macca a question you get an answer, there are quite a few posters on here who have quite a bit of information from various sources, depends on whether they want to share or not, DD has an 'insider' in the club who has just done the very thing you mentioned and the player was named
  6. I am still at a loss, taking into account DD's information, I attended training on the first day Clarrie was back, he was clearly suffering from something, second session he had to pull out and after discussion with medical staff, sat down and waited for session to end I approached him, he didn't look well and said he was feeling crook, I checked with Misso and he said the same thing He disappeared from the next training session or two and then reappeared looking a lot better, I asked him after the session what had occurred and said he had been sent for tests and it came back he had asthma/hay fever and was now on medication, but the whole episode had knocked him around, I would be surprised if he lied to me in such detail He participated in the whole session or two after that, before appearing in the rehab/other group on Monday, as a lot of players including Nev Jetta and Dom Tyson have done the same, I didn't find this unusual I also have approached Macca/Goodwin/Misso and asked whether anyone was brave enough to turn up not ready to go, and all said no, including Macca, you ask him a question and you get an answer, as others attest, so I believed them I don't really care what you think SMJ, I am over the negativity displayed on here, some need it to be able to post, I watched Clarrie motoring around the field in repeat 400's the other day, didn't look underdone to me
  7. Was not the impression I got DD, thought it was more illness based, and I spoke to all, perhaps I got a straight bat
  8. Was at work W45 but you have covered it beautifully???
  9. H , Stafford has Gawn and Spencer belting into each other, he also hands it out, the mantra under Goodwin, physicality
  10. Somebody asked me to, so I thought would give it a try, impressed my daughter, so a win on two counts
  11. Also a coach in waiting, been shadowing Goodwin at training, he even took time out from one drill to explain to her why the desired outcome hadn't happened
  12. We have a Stingas coach at training as well, so assume interested, those stats on Oscar I reckon are last year, big unit
  13. You really do need to stop watching the populist news OD, they arrested the burglar with the biggest strike rate in my area, 43 year old white Australian male,
  14. I agree with you, dealt with. Some wanted more, even the spurious claim he came back unfit rose again
  15. And you are basing that observation on what? As you don't read my posts, I 'll get somebody else to tell you, he has had health issues, which required him to have a couple of days off, he has acquired asthma/hay fever now on medication, today he was doing high speed 400 around the oval after he had participated in some of the drills, his fitness now is fine
  16. I think we have handled this like we have handled everything lately, with a minium of fuss, we can now move on When I was chatting to Clarry about his illness/fitness last week, without prompting he brought the issue up and said he had been an idiot, said it to two of us, didn't put it in the training report at the time
  17. I'll let you ask the question at the AGM WJ
  18. That is rubbish, he did not come back unfit, he has been suffering from asthmas/hay fever, sent for tests, now on medication
  19. Gee DS, will have to get you to chat to the players more often, if he even tried that I know the rest of the squad would be less than impressed, they take the 'fines' for 'small' misdemenours within the squad seriously as well
  20. Thanks DS, have to do it on my phone, that is what defeats me, just ask my daughter, I get emojis holding their heads in hands The other player who looks like he is ready to take it to another level is Billy Stretch Spoke to Jonesy as well today, really content as to where the team is at at the moment, looking forward to taking the field again with some of the young talent we have, loving the physicality Goodwin and Macca are instilling
  21. They are putting not only a heap of work into Maxy but also Spencer, to ensure we have the cover, both look in top condition, when they were to doing stoppage work the two of them came together with an almighty crash, both just got up and carried on. King is also getting a bit more ruck work into him as well
  22. Thanks Six can you put the other one as well He is looking super fit, can run all day, real smokey this year, did a bit of one on one defending
  23. There is also a strong emphasis on agility work as well, Misso worked over Weeds, Gawn and Spencer for about 15 minutes, had them doing some strange drills that I hadn't seen before, but all about getting a big frame on the move from certain positions One of the other drills is where the player has a coach/trainer facing him and he has to skip/run whichever way they point, another coach has a bag and when they whistle has to hit the bag, always behind the player, so player has to quickly turn and get hip into bag
  24. I agree with all the above, sorry I thought it had been announced he was going to be there, concentrate on photos at training, don't look at phone Haven't broached the subject with anyone, would only get straight bat
  25. It was fine, it was an interesting group Hogan, Weidemann, Smith, Hulett, Watts and Brayshaw They were taking kicks from 30, 40 and 50 out from all the angles The little hop skip and jump in the middle of the runup is not as pronounced, watched him for about 10 minutes, action was smooth Loved watching Stafford and Gawn, Stafford got Gawny off balance in one duel with a beautifully timed hip bump and followed him down to the ground hitting him with bag all the way, Gawn waited for a few repeats and then launched at him, got the first pic, but he hit him that hard he knocked him out of my frame and I didn't get the bit of Stafford crashing to the ground, there was a couple of mutual headlocks as well
