  1. Fantastic tackling pressure from both sides. Just outstanding. Harris has been an embarrassment with her complete lack of desperation, second efforts and chasing. The constant fumbling from most of the side is infuriating, as is the almost non-existent peripheral vision of the girls. And Lily, my goodness, practice your skills please. The better side won. Well done Adelaide.
  2. Go Dees. The girls have seen what it takes to bring home the cup. This is the prefect chance to show the Mens team how things should be done. You don't really need to wait 57 years for a flag. I think the Women can bring home the bacon if everything goes right. Become club legends girls. Don't allow room for regrets post game. 100% effort for 100% game time and you can hoist the cup.
  3. Hope he has a better footy brain than his old man. Got a lot of it, but when under pressure........
  4. ummmmm, I was talking about Wanganeen bro.
  5. No, probably only 4 years for some. He won't make it unless someone gets into his head in a BIG way. He has the talent but not the mental fortitude.
  6. Yeah, don't want to sound like I'm bagging the Vics, after all I'm still considered one of them after 20 years up here (GAYFL etc) But the weather thing totally escapes me now. Cold is 20 Celsius max, not 19 Celsius minimum.
  7. I don't see that as arrogance. I see that as a coach who has his players exquisitely tuned to his game plan. I thought it was a fantastic insight to his "team first" coaching. Wanted him gone just over 12 months ago. SO happy I was a clueless bozo.
  8. I thought Keith Greig won off a wing? History would be made the next year, with the North wingman becoming just the fifth player at the time to be named a back-to-back Brownlow Medalist, this time edging out Melbourne defender Gary Hardeman and Richmond’s Kevin Bartlett to have his name sitting comfortably amongst all-time greats like Haydn Bunton Sr, Dick Reynolds, and Ian Stewart. found this.......
  9. Just wanted to add a story or two about some interstate Demon fans that I met prior/during the game. I sussed both out to see if they were posters on "Land" without giving much away, but 1 was a Facebook Dees fan (lady), while I couldn't even hear the response from the legend (dude) who sat next to my wife during the game. The young lady we met while having a pre game beer at Surfers Paradise Beer Garden. A lovely girl from Toowoomba who could have talked about the Dees all night. Her Dees supporting partner was ill, so she was sitting in the pub, proudly wearing her Dees guernsey while not gaf about the dress code (i wore my hoodie for fear of being kicked out....She had more stones than I did). Respect Miss whatever your name was (I told you i'd forget, sorry) And the bloke we sat next to. He was very relieved to be surrounded by Dees fans initially, although the entire stand was a sea of Red & Blue by game time. He had earphones in and gave me stats and info throughout the game, not realising I was deaf as a post and could only nod and say "yeah, ok, thats interesting" to about 50% of his info. We both owed my lovely wife an apology for throwing hi-5's in front of her the whole game. What a great bloke. If you know him, tell him hi from myself and Angie. Damn I love being able to enjoy a game with strangers, knowing that our side is not an embarrassment. Two truly wonderful people. If you are on the Facebook page, feel free to pass this on to the beautiful young lady. (and tell her, every child just needs a hug, and i hope her partner is ok) She will know what I mean.......
  10. Seeing Jacko live for the first time was incredible. The kid is developing at light speed. If our youngsters continue to grow at the current rate we are in for multiple flags. I reckon the Taylor/Lamb combo will be revered in years to come. So many hits.
  11. Have to admit I've completely forgotten how a Victorian winter feels like after 20 years in central and North Queensland. The missus and I both took hoodies to the game. I cant even comprehend an overnight minimum under 20 at this time of year. And humidity? We were happy to be 1000km closer to the south pole for a change. It was quite cool for us. Was nice to see a game for the first time in about 7 years though.
  12. Agree Gawn had a shocker. Terrible game by his standards. Gold Coast defended well in the marking contests. He looked shot all game. Were you at the game? That woman umpire was atrocious. The crowd around us couldn't believe their own eyes when Kossy was almost decapitated and play on was called. Everyone was livid. And on Kossie, that would have replaced Abletts non-mark as mark of the Century had he held it. Absolute towering leap.
  13. This is the Dog's Achilles Heel. They have been trained to think that any cheating effort will result in a soft free. I'm very thankful that the cheating, ducking, throwing era has only resulted in a single flag. It doesn't look like changing any time soon.
  14. Yeah I got maybe 6. Entered every one of them in a desperate and greedy grab at the free stuff.
  15. Can't believe I paid $50 to watch Barry Hall get knocked down 3 times in the first 2 minutes of his fight before the ref waved him off. Never in the contest. Would love to see SBW take on Justis Huni, and be sat on his [censored].
  16. While you're offloading your demands onto the male population, would you care to make a call on the lunatic left wing crazy who bashed "white bread eating middle aged white males" recently? You know, the one who was both sexist AND racist in the same sentence on national television. Or are you happy to let misandry slide while getting all hysterical at the private views of a random journo?
  17. Just quoting this so that anyone who skipped to the last pages of the thread will still get to see it. Very, very funny.
  18. Taking the bride down to see this game. First time to see the Dees live since the ANZAC eve game where Jesse Hogan tore the Tigers a new one all those years back. Excited......
  19. Agree with that. I think it's a sign that they are not sure the playing list and game plan has changed enough to make a difference if we are in top gear. No different to what many of us, myself included would call for when we were not quite there in our past few finals efforts. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they roll us this week. I also would not be surprised if the Dogs have a small drop down the ladder this year.
  20. I don't think the bulldogs are a soft team at all. Quite the opposite actually, and apart from Libba who is a sniping dog and Hunter who is a ducking coward, the majority of their players are "hard but fair". It's easy to look soft when you have taken the foot off the pedal and the other team makes you look like you don't want it. That's the way I saw the Grand Final at least. I reckon the first quarter will be a ding dong battle as the oldies would call it.
  21. My old man is in his 80's and lives 2,200km away. After all of the times my brother and i (in our 50's) would [censored] and moan about him making us follow his Demons, the year we finally deliver is destroyed by the Covid drama. I too am hoping we can salute again. I will even forgo being there in person if I can just sit beside him and cheer the team home together one time before he leaves us.
  22. Your Dad sounds like he was a legend.
