Why? I'm cool with it. And I mean a Jackson trade would be all about what it will mean to our flag push. I'd only be getting worked up if we were losing him for nothing.
-
Happy. Wont win the flag unless we find a way to convert our inside 50 dominance, but wow that last 2 minutes was fun. We've been on the wrong side of a few close ones recently so it's nice to send oppo fans home shattered for a change.
-
The only thing that really matters is can our footy department turn the likely loss of Jackson into a nett positive for the club. I'd happily lose Jackson if it makes us more likely to win another flag or 2 in the near future. It's all about the flags and nothing else.

H&A % as an indicator of team chances to win Finals

I guess my $2 +1.5's from Solleys are not cutting the mustard any more. -
H&A % as an indicator of team chances to win Finals

What do you think about percentage and its value as an indicator of a team that can actually win it all? The final question was about all teams. I read it as an attempt to say that we are still in it because our percentage is higher and Collingwood is less of a chance as thwors is lower.. We are still in it because we will play finals, but our chances historically are quite low considering the form we will be taking into the finals. Unless of course we blow away Carlton and Brisbane in our final 2 games which seems unlikely on exposed form. We will be limping to the line, and that is always a bad sign come finals. -

People still looking for a reason to ignore the fact we are not a patch on last year's team will hold on for dear life to things like "percentage as a chance of winning the flag" We need to reverse the 10 round long up-down cycle if we are to salute again. We just don't look all that capable of doing that right now. We've lost the killer instinct and league leading fitness that we enjoyed last year. -
He's be extremely handy, but I'm not sure the site could cope with him kicking 1 goal 8 every week.

It's Jack Watts all over again. We draft a tall kid with supposed skills who we expect will "fill out" and grow into the physical aspects of the position that we recruited them to play. Weid has no mongrel. Zero. It shows every time he runs 2m under the ball when someone is on his hammer. I'd call it something far less flattering, but that would certainly get me a ban. And if memory serves it was his "courage in the air" that had our team choose him over others..... It's an ongoing weakness in our recruiting team. We seem to be ok at identifying defenders and very good at mid size players, but give us a crack at picking a tall forward and they seem to fall apart. Lets hope V.R is a notable exception.

People will get off his back when he starts playing like the top 10 pick he was (not going to happen), or when he is delisted. He is paid to do a job and is not performing that job to anything like the level that would be expected. That's his fault, nobody else's.

I'm normally a Melksham critic, but his past 2 games have shown that he has premiership qualities. His chasing and tackling (at times) have been worthy of ongoing inclusion, and at his age, show that he is dead serious about keeping his place in the team. Reckon he may have ben stung badly by the May comments and wants to shove it up his [censored].

Staggering that people still hold out hope that he will suddenly have a breakout game and establish himself as a regular. Our match committee would be chomping at the bit to bring almost anyone of Key Position height/size into the team to replace Weid. Just a shame that we may need to either bring an under-developed Van Rooyen, or an underdone TMac into the team on the eve of finals. Weideman is a totally lost cause.

[censored] love it. I had almost written us off, but that was Premiership quality footy tonight. Thank you.
-
He is Olympic level quality at judging exactly how far to move, and at what speed to ensure he runs under the ball in every contested marking contest. Blood boiling.

Mate, I normally take more time to read the posts of people who I would normally disagree with because I might learn something. Yourself included. Who reads every single post an 'Land? Now, what was it that you said pre-game that everyone is congratulating you for?
-
Apologies Col, as I normally skim your posts because they are sooooo long winded, but every single word of that was 100% on point. Well said.
-
Yeah missed it. What did he say?
-
The other 15 clubs and franchises would all love to take about 15 players from our list. Kossy is simply a talented player who has not signed a long term contract yet, so who will the eels in the media talk about?
-
Not knowing the kid, he may actually relish the spotlight and adoration. Will be interesting to see how he performs tonight as he's been no better than "good" over the past few weeks. Turn it on Jacko. We need a huge game from you tonight.

In all of the celebrations regarding Angus signing on, please never forget that this means Essedon failed in their efforts to recruit him. Suck it Bombers.
