Brisbane Lions Consider Asking for Priority Picks
faultydet replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure how season ending injuries equate to off-field problems Lam?I would bet my lefty that the afl will think hard and long about how to make a priority pick or two seem fair, after saying no to us for 3 years, and then, after deciding they cant find a way to make it look fair, will say "stuff it, lets give them one anyway" -
Goonsacks..... Made my night. Thanks.

With regards to the radio interview link, my god that Peter Jackson is great with interviews. Do yourself a favour, and listen to the pre-gamer. Absolutely brilliant, and eye opening in regards to the Adam Goodes situation also. Please sign this guy for 10 years. Legend.

Thanks for the scores. Appreciated. Now, to get the AFL app working, to watch a replay, before i get too pizzed. Well done to the confident ones who predicted a win. I didnt.
-
Im still confused AFL website shows 11-11:77 07-12:54 Was that the final score?
-
They showed the farken geelong game over here, then the afl site schit itself. We finally win a game against a power club, and im stuck with Land commentary, and no scores.....

Not your best choices there. Its actually closer to what i wanted to say. The big headed tall poppy syndrome. Alive and well here. We dont celebrate the arrogant, im so good types, like they do in the US.
-
We are Melbourne. We wont........... All time great is Goodes. Australians have never liked a tall poppy.

This is being dealt with at all levels of the game, with the peanut in charge, and now the club captains weighing in. I have a feeling that there will be pushback from the "racist" element, and they will continue unabated, at least in the short term. I will hazard a guess that the majority of people who simply dont like Goodes, for reasons other than race, will check their actions for a while, as the media spotlight will certainly be on the crowd, when next Goodes plays. Let people boo Ablett if they wish. Its possible to dislike him for thinking he is greater than everyone else, but not give a stuff about his religion. Until this week, I had no idea he was a "bible basher", and I really couldn't care less. Maybe the more politically correct among us, can draw up a,list of acceptable boos, and circulate them, so the ignorant cretins in the crowd, will know if they are doing something that will prevent a visit from Santa each year. Im really not sure why we (demonlanders), engage each other in stuff like this. Never changes any opinions.
-
.... So, anyone who, at any time in the future, decides to boo Goodes, for any reason OTHER than racism, cant do it, because you dont like it?Protected species? Untouchable? Why?
-
I too have an issue with the clowns labelling everyone who boos as racist.
-
Even though i think many in this affair are over reacting, I have to agree with the poster who said that, at some stage, you have no right to decide if comments/booing or whatever, are offensive. The person on the end of it is the one who decides how he feels about it, and in Goodes case, he has decided that its racist. Even though I think he is thin skinned, he is the one copping the boos, or abuse from over the fence, so I guess he is in a better position than I, to decide if its racist or not. I think people can exacerbate an issue by complaining about it, but if all of the players from oppo teams think they should take a stand, then there is probably something to it Munga.

I understand your stance, but in NO way, is this even close to a tragedy. Interesting move by the players. Looking forward to seeing the reaction from Goodes, and other clubs.

Fitzpatrick is listed as 200cm yes? He is actually the same height as Dion Prestia, but with a 25cm neck.
