I think ruccuito's slip up re danger is more indicative than noble's comments, I feel it's more danger's call than the Adelaide footy clubs.
-
Yep....... Known to get a little too caught up in the hype our Chris. Despite his faults & failures he really does love the club though...... Possibly to the point of blindness! Lol
-
Sorry bud, didn't look at when you posted it, my bad. I'm a tad over the top about this cause it's one of the few things I actually have a bit of inside knowledge on. Btw, for the Fitzpatrick lovers & haters out there, Chris also still thinks he's going to be a star one day.... Dunno if that's a blessing or a curse, much as I know Chris & really like the bloke, his record is a little bit of a mixed bag when it comes to calls like that.

You love this rumor don't you. Jones is a restricted FA, well and truly, by a large margin, no ambiguities to it at all, not like Frawley's contract situation whatsoever. Further, Frawley got bumped by Watts' extension & the picking up of Dawes after he extended, so the club lost site of where he stood for FA, Jones remains in the top 5 paid players at our club next year regardless of getting a Dangerfield or not, I wasn't going to reveal my source for this but I will now just to shut this garbage up, my understanding of Nat's contract comes direct from Chris Connolly's mouth. Take it or leave it, but I'm happy to bet my balls on this one.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

Welcome to the club Billy!! Have a really good feeling about this kid, I reckon he'll really come on as a player once his body gets a few pre-seasons into it. -

It says both parties are negotiating an extension. I think if he'd made up his mind to leave already they wouldn't be wasting their time talking to us much like Frawley's manager refusing further discussions all year. -

Meanwhile, players are jumping ship at collingwood left right and centre!!! People on here were mocking suggestions pendlebury is gettable on other threads just because he's collingwoods captain...... But at demonland we like to panic and jump at shadows on the back of what a physio said....... -

So early? Gun players routinely get extensions with a year or more to go on their contracts, that's why there's soo much media hype about anyone playing their last contracted year without an extension. There is nothing early about it. -

Ok, lets entertain this crap about jones for a second then. He's contracted for another 12 months & restricted next year. Even if he tells the club he's eager to walk next year to the pies, they either have to satisfy us with a trade this year (currently looking like pick 5 for beams, their own 1st Rnd pick & Lumumba as real trade-able assets) or chances are we get band 1 compo next year which if we don't significantly improve in 2015 is likely to be another top 3 pick. Thus whatever we got for him this year would have to be pretty bloody good! Either way we hold the cards, not jones nor collingwood. -

Restricted FA by a healthy margin mate, no ambiguity on this one like there was with Frawley. -

Hey, I'm not the first to look foolish on here, won't be the last. But this article seems to be a stronger indicator than 3rd party info from a physio! http://m.afl.com.au/news/2014-09-11/dees-keen-to-keep-jones -

Do you know this physio with the inside info personally? Cause neither does the original poster apparently!! Lol -

Ha!!! What a joke! Bloke has already said he'll re-sign another extension that should see him a demon for life. A physio for collingwood said so hey? He learnt of this giving their footy operations manager a massage perhaps? Was this during the happy ending perhaps? Of course every physio at every club has the real inside info! Lol Wasn't it collingwood fans who beat his old man up at the footy? Jones is a RESTRICTED FA next year, we can match any offer & probably have more cap space than most anyone else. This is pure BS, but thnx heaps for sharing......... -
Would be awesome for us, but other clubs seem to be into him too & probably willing to offer a higher pick imo, even higher than our pick 23.
-
How bout this:Pick 27 (Western Bulldogs as per your scenario above) for Merrett & Pick 36 (Geelong, maybe even snag a Varcoe with it, he'd be an upgrade on Bail's role on the HFF imo) for Lumumba or vice versa - (note, pick numbers based on compo/extra picks for Melb, GWS, GC & Doggies). Or we could just go direct to Brissy with a Pick 2 for 5 swap for Merrett, with the higher pick for collingwood giving them Petracca or one of the 2 bigs leaving Brayshaw to us at 3 & pick 5 still to trade for a either a gun young mid or another Tyson style downgrade.
-
You say it like we had a choice between the 2...... But the choice was made by Clark, not us dingaling
-
Says a bloke calling him self kingdingaling!! Ha!!!
-
By the sounds of it I'd give him a look, if he can potentially get his engine up to afl standards of course..... For every Bate or there's a Mundy or Barlow type too, plenty of big mids getting around these days.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA
thevil1 replied to Moonshadow's topic in Melbourne Demons
This move helps the midfield & forward line as much as the back line IMO...... Here's a bloke who can run off half back & deliver long to a one on one contest giving the forwards a bloody chance for once by bypassing the midfield completely. I wasn't a fan of Harry O or Lumumba, have always thought he was suspect defensively & a bit overrated, although he's always been better than a number of our own. But I can't shake the feeling Roos will be able to get the best out of this bloke, I'm talking career best form out of him & people will talk about what a genius Roos is for picking him up. Here's hoping I'm right!! -
Brilliantly put WJ, as usual.
-
And to think they expect the crows to accept for danger what they won't accept as a straight swap for beams! Hahahahahaha
-
Ha! McGuire "this is a humanitarian situation"........ Yes Eddie, a player only wants to leave collingwood to be with his sick father on the Gold Coast, but wait, he won't play for Gold Coast, he'll only play with his brother in brissy for a big contract...... Ffs!! What a full is BS spin doctor. This scenario has been rumored for a long time now, fairly sure it started when clay was drafted to brissy & before his dad got sick, but whatever helps you sleep at night Eddie, don't worry, no one can see through your garbage.

I think what Pelchen is doing here is tying to make other teams think they could take anyone in the draft so that other teams don't assume too much....... You cannot seriously think any quotes at this stage is anything more than posturing, why reveal your hand now? And if gws is really really hot for Petracca you never know, maybe Cameron could be Riewoldt successor rather than McCartin. I know which I'd prefer. -
And all 28 are better value than sculldogmilliionaire & co (fat daddy makes quite an expensive entourage)....... They won more games than us & this is an award which is very much weighted towards midfielders. 1 vote by him is a disgrace. If they had any real supporters they'd be livid, and that's the one thing that saddens me, he largely gets overlooked as a massive fail as a result.
-
No, it's actually $1.1m per year, remember fatty daddy's $100k a year recruiter side deal was found to be 'abnormal' & as such counts as part of their players salary cap!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
