  1. No, sorry, for picks 2 & 3 I'm hoping our recruiters can pull out some guns, whoever they are and whatever their pre draft hype is!! Not just 'decent' players.
  2. Oh, it's a g'tee for sure, they must all be future super duper stars if they are top 5! What was I thinking?!?!
  3. I think Wines is better to date & I feel he will always have more of a contribution than Toumpas, in any side. But not once ever have I said Jimmy can't play & would LOVE to be proven wrong re the Wines. But any observer who heard the pre season hype on him would say he's under performed thus far. Especially those same draft 'experts' that rated him ahead. That was my point. Really hope he's a late developer & shows why he was so highly touted of course!
  4. Shattered. Was a great a acquisition in the first place. All the best George, cheers!
  5. This years top 5 are without Heeney & Moore. That alone makes a huge difference. And if it's a weak draft, and clearly not a deep one, it means all the top rated kids look that much more impressive against lesser players. This is why performances by youngsters at SANFL etc are highly regarded & why Stretch started to get noticed more towards the end of the year.
  6. And most of these pre draft 'experts' had Toumpas ahead of Wines. Go with your gut Todd, Roos & Co, forget the hype!!
  7. Morton was rated highly by many! Remember him? Tambling? People only knock the clubs that ended up taking these kids but they were duds through & through, weak club culture or not, they were nothing compared to their pre draft hype!!! Not all drafts are rated equally, this one is WEAK!!!!
  8. Weak draft imo & it sounds like a few clubs might've been thinking that way also. They had obviously no intention of staying with 3 top 10 picks as their preferred final trade period outcome. May explain why saints weren't prepared to downgrade 1 & why doggies happy to include 6 with Griff for Boyd which many are calling slightly overs atm, especially given GWS were reportably originally happy to pay 4 & 7 for Griff in the first place which many thought was overs!
  9. Because its a weak draft this year. I reckon anyway.
  10. Don't rate McCartin at all, he is no where near Hogan's level & there's way more upside in Wright, who I'm still not totally sold on. Saints are said to have put a LOT of work into McCartin & are saying they'll take Petracca (Finey, SEN), so if that is indeed true & their need for talls is probably greater than ours, then we will likely pass on him also I reckon. I just want the best in terms of overall talent as a player at both picks & trust our footy dep to get it right, first time I've said that in a long time! Brayshaw & Lever the best 2 talents imo if Petracca is off the board. In an uncompromisd draft we'd be talking about Heeney & Moore too......
  11. 7 wins in 2015, absolutely. & 'in' most of games all year. Improvement will be obvious with mostly youngsters coming on which means we're able to lure Danger AND Tex as a FA's & be finals bound in 2016!! First time ever a club loses 2 band 1 FA's in one year who want to play together elsewhere ;-) Its the next phase of free agency.......
  12. He's versatile & I believe it came from an interview at the combine with Jake, he said he saw himself as or was working to become a tall midfielder eventually, but I'm having trouble tracking it down so far. http://www.sen.com.au/news/jake-seeking-leverage-in-the-draft "At 194cm, Lever is a genuine key defender height, though he is a very good user of the ball and rebounder out of the backline, giving him some flexibility in what his role may be at AFL level. A highly-competitive player with an impressive game nous, he plays similarly to Hawthorn defender Josh Gibson, though he has an extra five centimetres on the Peter Crimmins Medal winner." If you ask me his more Hodge than Gibson, much taller than both those handy premiership type players.
  13. Lever is a footballer, plug in & play him anywhere, he's not just a kpb, his skill set can impact all over the ground imo. Clearly our 2 picks come from Petracca, Brayshaw & Lever for mine, but if we go tall, Wright makes more sense for us than McCartin surely? Hell, I like Laverde better than McCartin, I think he's a NQR key forward, not a star one.
  14. His highlights package are the best of this years crop imo. Clean, pure footballer who wins contests, great overhead & uses it really well. He's damaging & if we are into him as rumored I'm wrapt!
  15. I can see them saying, so you wanted Lever at 3 hey? Great, well knowing that we'll just keep Greene (who's probably worth a mid to late 1st rounder on football talent, despite off field dramas that happened in Melbourne) & you keep 23 & take Frost in the PSD. Cause that's all it essentially is, Greene & Frost for 23.
  16. I'm backing chook over GNF for sure! Mostly cause I have no idea really of what GNF is on about & I think we'll only land one elite player if any, not 2..... Although I'd really be happy to be wrong about that. At absolute worst I hope we land a Coniglio-type + pick downgrade for Lever as per the Tyson/Salem trade with one of our early picks.
  17. Hogan, Viney & Salem will be the first. They actually have some real hunger for a contest & to improve.
  18. Given there was only 28 trades total amongst 18 clubs last year, means we were big players!
  19. By "actual potential", what exactly are you after here? It's full of potential........... But just BS instead of the actual part.
  20. Grab a mirror mate, it's just written backwards, not German ;-p
  21. Hit the gym now?? Watts he been doing the last 6 years?!?!
  22. Can't wait for Thursday 2pm when GNF unravels those riddles to suit whatever actually does eventuate!!
  23. Didn't know any of this.... Ok, which idiot put me onto Kennedy? Back to Coniglio I go!!!
  24. I was being facetious, but wasn't very clear about it, I agree with you though, no one is dumb enough to take on toxic Phil's diabolical contract of a lifetime. Apart from sheedy of course. Tongue in cheek Damnit, that was always the flaw in my proposal. But he will be 28 before next year and body battle weary from all these finals campaigns...... Ok, I'm clutching at straws, he is worth more :-(
  25. Pick 3, Watts & Toumpas for Danger & Pick 10. Pick 10 for Kennedy. Pick 23 & Trenners for Pick 12. Clark in a 3 or 5 way deal for HL and the mid to late 3rd Rnd pick needed for Frost. In: Danger, Kennedy, Brayshaw (Pick 2), Lever (Pick 12), Stretch (Pick 41 or whatever it is), Jetta (Pick 81 RL upgrade), HL, Garlett, Frost. Out: MC, Frawley (Pick 3), Watts, Trenners, Toumpas, Pick 23, Pick 61, Byrnes (Retired) + delistings: Nicho, Clisby, Strauss, Blease & Tapscott. Now that's 2 elite players who would rank ahead of our current best in Jones, still allows us to draft the 2 players we are supposedly into & whilst bringing in talent who are ready to perform right now while are still building for the future with 3 bright prospects. Yes I'm trying to satisfy all the BS rumors that have been floated here...... No I'm not saying this will happen. But if we could pull something like this off, I believe the list will have really truly moved on from previous mental scarring and gives a bunch of young men, who may not see or agree it as needed yet, a fresh start elsewhere.
