  1. I look at performances like today and realise our list is no good. The reason our list is no good is because of Neeld. He raped this list. I feel sorry for our next coach. Bailey at least left the next coach something to work with. Apart from a decent forward line there is little upside to this list. VFL battlers.
  2. I have not watched any game of AFL now for 3 weeks. Im a footy diehard but I've lost all interest.
  3. There seems to be a lot of sessions that Neeld doesn't run. Does this happen at other clubs as well? I've never seen a training session of any club so wondering if its a normal thing.
  4. Exactly. I love Northey, but if you thought Mark Neeld was trying implement a dated game plan...
  5. Not only that, but at the time he had to practically beg for him to come back too. Would have loved to have seen what Mcnamee could have done for the club. He was after Jonathon brown. Tanking definitely wasn't on his mind. Maybe thats why he was moved on.
  6. I got confused as to wether or not Jackson is staying, so if he is actually only here temporarily its his job to find this CEO. McNamee wanted J. Brown. Theres nothing wrong with wanting to bring a superstar to our club. Im not sure how he failed. He was moved on before he even got a chance to move in our good old buddy Schwab.
  7. Mentioned this in another thread. Seems more important now than ever... In looking for a CEO think outside the box. One move that still has me scratching my head was Stynes removing Mcnmee almost immediately. To me he was an inspired and savvy choice. And obviously had some runs on the board running arguably Australia's premier sporting event the australian open. I often wonder how differently things would have turned out if he was given the chance. To me the CEO is the money man, and the footy man should be the football manager. We need someone who will come in a find some more revenue and fast. We can't just say oh we have the bentleigh club and that's it. We need to get into a position where if we have a bad year and lose 1.5 million like this year and be able to take the hit, not be worried we will fold. The current business model of getting supporters to tip in money continually is unsustainable. If we get to a 5 million dollar debt again it will be lights out this time for certain.
  8. I had no idea Swooper was still coaching. Whereabouts? On Sumich, the idea is to find a coach who has been in the AFL ranks for a long time. Coaches like Lyon and Hinkley who have had to wait there turn and when they get the chance they are hungry. But obviously if he's no good then pass.
  9. They are both extremely experienced. Both were great players. I mentioned this in another thread. How many coaches have coached premierships at 2 different clubs in the modern era? I could only think of Malthouse and Matthews. The rest have been first time coaches. Just because we have failed at choosing a good coach the last 2 times, doesn't mean we have to get an over the hilll experienced coach just for the sake of it.Are people actually Being serious when bringing up Northeys name? I can't tell if people are joking or not.
  10. There is more chance of us beating hawthorn by 20 goals this weekend than Roos coaching melbourne.
  11. He didn't lose them. He got rid of them.
  12. First up I'd trade watts. Bundle in a pick and get an A grade midfielder. Forget the experienced coach. Put our money into getting Stephen wells from geelongs recruiting department. Or the next best we can get. Be aggressive. The reason I say forget the experienced coach is apart from roos who is not Interested they are all over the hill. If they still had what it taked they'd still be there. Since the Brisbane dynasty, apart from the one premiership from Malthouse, all the coaches have been first time premiers. It's bloody hard to win premierships. Especially at 2 clubs. We need to be looking for the next Ross Lyon or Hinkley. Coaches that haven't been seniors, but been assistant at AFL level for 10 years plus. To me this is even better than getting a Malthouse. You have quality experience in the big league and the hunger to go all the way after waiting so long for your turn. Sumich stands out to me. Also Gavin Brown is an interesting one. Been in the caper for almost as long as his playing career now. The way he played the game is the way we should strive. Strikes me as a hardwick type. In looking for a CEO think outside the box. One move that still has me scratching my head was Stynes removing Mcnmee almost immediately. To me he was an inspired and savvy choice. It HAS to be Schwarz. So he's not a business man, blah blah. That's fine. As long as we have our football department running smoothly he doesn't need to be the sharpest tool in the shed. He needs to be passionate. We need to find our Eddie McGuire. Someone who won't get pushed around. Now who would have the balls to push the Ox around? Good luck Melbourne. Lets get our #%** together.
  13. Agree GNF. That plan is all about footskills and also trusting your team mate to make the pass as we are already running forward. This is why the turnovers absolutely murder us.
  14. Neeld is not the sole problem. He's one of the many problems. We are basically back to 2008 now. We are only 9 rounds into a rebuild remembering Neeld came into a club that was marketed as the best available coaching job. 4 years into a rebuild, ready for someone to come in a reap the rewards of baileys work. Neeld got nothing out of that list. So now he is building Neelds list. Sure there were holes in our list, but a full rebuild? I don't think it was needed. A capable coach would have got us close to finals last year. Instead here we are, lower than we've ever been. So do you give the guy benefit of the doubt to see out his contract remembering he will only be 2 years into the rebuild where results like the weekend are expected (as they were in 08-09)? Or do we say sorry buddy, you've made way too many mistakes already and we don't trust you to improve your decision making skills to get this team to where it should be? Neeld is a Huge problem. The anger displayed at him from supporters is like none I've ever seen at this club. It can't be healthy for him, and it's not healthy at supporters. We shouldn't be hating our coach and our players. But as he says, "it is what it is". Yes it's unfair that Neeld is copping the brunt of 6 years of frustration from the supporters but the situation has reached tipping point. We needed the best leader we could possibly find, we unfortunately ended up with this guy. 2 interviews with players moved on last year and playing reasonable footy at the moment (moloney and petterd) that really confirm some of our fears of neelds man management skills. They both credit this years form to a coach that believed in them. The answers in the interviews were almost identical. Neeld will go, and I hope for his sakes it's sooner rather than later. We have to remember this guy is a human, has a family. It would be pretty horrible being mark Neeld. I really can't imagine what he is going through. The guy has the right intentions, has come in with his vision and he's style of tough leadership he thought was required to turn it around. I honestly think one of the big problems is the admin wanted to bring in someone to change the sick culture of the club when it was obvious our football department is the reason for this horrible culture. It's poor, unorganised, unprofessional, no structure. Peter Jackson has already identified this. Neeld you will go, but rest assured the rest of the clowns in the office will be Walking out with you.
  15. I think we are effectively under the AFLs control now. We may have become an unofficial expansion club in terms of the level of support we will receive from the AFL. It's embarrassing but necessary. I mean apart from the Ox we haven't exactly had people banging down the door to get involved.
  16. Did any get to hear the post march press conference? Haven't heard anything of it as of yet.
  17. Its not technique, its mindset. The players have even admitted it.
  18. Not really. Reminds me a bit of Xavier Ellis. They haven't got the most out of him have they?
  19. A 6 goal loss to Richmond is a positive for us these days hey? What a joke.
  20. To me, he was gone as soon as he was jeered off the ground when subbed against the bombers by his own supporters. If there is anyone on this list who owes the club, its this kid. I don't believe he has it in him to pay us back. If we got an A grade midfielder for him I'd let him go. He was a mistake at pick 1. If we can get something worthwhile for him then its not a complete loss.
  21. I think he has been a huge pickup for us. Some genuine, hard leadership. His work rate on the field is first class.
  22. I heard he wanted out last year along with moloney but still under contract. Only scuttlebutt but from a fairly reliable source. Ive been prepared for him leaving this year since then. Sure he is maligned, but we can't afford to lose a raft of senior players on a yearly basis. I shudder to think of what over the hill spud Neeld would replace him with.
  23. Neeld wants consistency of effort from the players. Might help if he had a consistent message. Hes drowning. Don't stress, he is gone. There is no use replacing him now. The club knows that. We will have a new coach next year. No hard feelings Neeld. You're trying your best. You just don't have what it takes. Feel free to prove me wrong Neeld.
