  1. Didn’t Brad Miller move to the Punt Road oval? ? That’s a long way from the MCG (where Richmond also played).
  2. Maybe we should have recruited Oscar McInerney out of the same ‘left field’? ? Both came from the Casey Demons and now Oscar is a cult figure at Brisbane (and will probably feature in the Grand Final).
  3. No question about keeping Hunt and making a realistic offer to achieve this. Not as negative about Melksham as many others. When he is on fire, he is a good contributor (and still ahead of some on our list)!
  4. Hopefully the highlights today will include Melksham and Brown kicking a bag against their old Club and Hibberd, May and Lever stopping every entry into our back half! ?
  5. Maybe if the boys are back in Melbourne they can watch the Grand Final Parade? ? Lucky that Dan Andrews gazetted the Public Holiday for the last Friday in September. ?????
  6. They might have given us a flogging but look at our team then! No May, no Weideman and no Langdon, just for a start! ?
  7. Why would you drop Hibberd? Reports after the match suggest he will not be unavailable because of injury. ?
  8. Maybe if they had of awarded Trac the mark, he could have roosted it home in a manner that no one could get their hands near it. ?
  9. Maybe add Bedford for Spargo. (Thought he might have been named for the indigenous round. ?)
  10. A bit harsh on Wagner. I thought he worked his way into the game well and played his part in an increasingly accomplished back half.
  11. It just illustrates our depth. Either way, we could interchange any of those players and not have any detriment. Maybe we might look at a freshen-up change when we tackle St Kilda.
  12. Actually the first half has been equally good to listen to. I have just put on my ACFC tie on (Black tie with the words ACFC underneath the motif of a dead magpie with a trident through its heart). ? ACFC = Anti-Collingwood Football Club.
  13. Obviously you are not in Melbourne!
  14. I think that you are going to prove massively mistaken. Our boys will clean up the filth!
  15. Happy birthday young man! It was Saturday 15 August 1964 that we beat Hawthorn by 4 points (on a very muddy Glenferrie Oval) and then went on to win our last Premiership! Let’s hope that the ‘big scary man’ can help us get the four points today and history can repeat itself for you and your kids! ?
  16. Great footage. The thick mud is but a memory now (along with kids running onto the ground and traditional jumpers without advertising). Thanks for posting. ?
  17. To me as well, if not too much trouble.
  18. Did you read the report on the Round 11 practice game this week? They seemed quite pleased with Preuss (who dominated in the hit-outs)! I am happy to give him a run and suspect that he may surprise the pundits.
  19. Preuss was a standout in our 12-a-side practice game against St Kilda this week. Give him a run.
  20. We actually have a plethora of coaches who should be addressing these issues. ?
  21. I think Gawn should come in but Preuss if he is not available. By all accounts, Preuss played a good practice match against St Kilda the other day. obviously Viney should return, maybe for AVB? if Kosi needs management, interchange him with Bennell but I don’t like the idea of having him out of the side
  22. Disgraceful number of turnovers from our Senior players. Sometimes it seemed that Port had 36 players of the field all trying to help them kick a winning score. ?
  23. Yes but Dusty was never “the Melbourne look” at the time with our blue blood MFC Board. Maybe that had some bearing on the selectors?
  24. Jack gave his heart and soul for the Club even whilst recovering from his leg injury he was doing community work with the Club’s programs. Although he was never going to regain the body to stand AFL speed, he did manage to get B&F for Casey Demons the year before we jettisoned him. IMHO delist him (& from our salary cap) but retain him as a Casey player (on fair renumeration)and he may have led Casey to a Demons Premiership. That in itself would have warranted retention of him and rewarded the players on the AFL list who spent much of their time playing for Casey for various reasons. A bit like our treatment of James Macdonald really > shortsighted and ignoring aspects like Club culture.
  25. Ironically how they were both Demons.
