  1. I could have sworn I saw Bugg place his hands on the umpire’s back in the closing minutes. I wonder whether that has any repercussions? ?
  2. Why have they got Nibbler and Hannan listed in the starting eighteen? ?
  3. Not surprising but Garlett must be the emergency as he didn’t play at Casey.
  4. Why have they got Nibbler and Hannan listed in the starting eighteen? ?
  5. It is not just 92 since the previous tally, but 1200 in the last week. If we win on Monday, I expect that we will soar past 45,000 in the coming week and close in on 50,000 for the first time. It is up to the MFC (and all Demonlanders) to capitalise on our current momentum and ensure that we reach this milestone!
  6. Exactly! Collingwood doesn’t need to be part of the occasion for a third marquee game! ?
  7. The thing that Eddie (and the AFL) conveniently fail to recognise is that the MCG has been Melbourne’s home ground for nearly 150 years and that we were originally the MCC Football Club. It is first and foremost our traditional home and all other Clubs are there at the behest of the MCC administration. Eddie can go and suck eggs or we can offer him a home game at Alice or Darwin! As for the AFL! History (extract) from our website The rules of the Melbourne Football Club are formalised in 1859, with Wills and his cousin HCA Harrison being major contributors. In the years that follow, other clubs come and go as the game further develops, including the first Richmond Football Club, and South Melbourne. By 1873, Melbourne is exiled from the MCG due to turf damage. The Victorian Football Association assumes control of the game in 1873. Melbourne plays Carlton under lights at the MCG in 1879, before undergoing financial turmoil and being absorbed into the MCC in 1889. In 1896, meetings are held to form the VFL. The founding clubs are Melbourne, Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Fitzroy, Geelong, St Kilda and South Melbourne.
  8. Frankly I think that we are more than capable of winning the two Adelaide games (giving us an additional eight wins and a real chance for a Top Four finish)! p.s. We better finish Top Four as I will be overseas and miss the first Final.
  9. We’ll pass the Doggies soon and if the Club gives a massive push, maybe we can all help recruiting members to get to 45,000 by the end of the Queen’s Birthday weekend? Beating Collingwood (and looking like certainties to finish Top Four) should build a nice momentum (to regain what we lost in the early matches)! 50,000 by end July cut-off should be our new realistic target! ??
  10. Are we on Casey Radio (or any other radio)?
  11. Listening to 3AW football commentators just now. They are unequivocally convinced that Jetta is the standout All-Australian back pocket! ?
  12. All I can say is “watch this spot” when they publish the first list of the League’s fifty most valuable players! Expect it to be riddled with Dees for the first time since its introduction! ?
  13. 6. T. Mac 5. Hogan 4. Jetta 3. Fritsch 2. Harmes 1. Brayshaw
  14. We aren’t exactly “rewarding” players Wiseblood just acknowledging that a) most clubs are responding to the spirit of the indigenous round, b) Garlett will pay his way (e.g. five goals last time we played Adelaide) and c) he will not disrupt our team structure.
  15. The only change to my mind is bring in Jeff for the indigenous round (particularly as one of his family designed our jumper)! Nobody deserves to make way so possibly just give Vince a week off and let Lever represent our ex-Adelaide contingent! p.s. Unfortunately, indigenous round or not, no room in this team for JKH (and Johnstone doesn’t warrant a call up)! Jetta, playing his usual role is a no-brainer.
  16. Wouldn’t mind seeing our percentage based on the last four games only!
  17. You need to add: ‘Win four in a row’ ( broken 20\05\2018) and ‘Win five in a row’ (next weekend?)
  18. Your task is relatively easy! For me, I have another forty years which includes Barassi, Flower and half of our Premiership teams (6 No.)! I am not even going to start! (Reactive this post in October when we have won another Premiership.)
  19. Vince is named in the starting eighteen so it won’t be him (more likely Tyson)! I suspect that they will bring back Garlett for the indigenous round against Adelaide next week in Alice Springs (particularly since his relative designed the jumper)! As for Weid’s replacement, I wouldn’t mind seeing Bull have a run. I agree with most, two changes only.
  20. His speed is a definite asset however he needs to be able to bounce the ball when running otherwise he turns it over unnecessarily.
  21. he did enough to get votes from the radio commentators
  22. Was it Bugg or Balic? (8.7 to 5.5 lead now)
  23. But he will be jolly handy for the Casey Demons today when they face the unbeaten Hawks! ?
  24. 6. Oliver 5. Harmes 4. Jones 3. Hogan 2. Salem 1. Fritchs
