The Club has not broadcast their plans nor submitted them to Local or State authorities for approvals! When they do, if it gets up, then he is “smart”. It is the best position on a number of levels so I applaud the Club for pursuing it! I am assuming that they are getting first-class advice! ?

It is not as though Bedford or Chandler are likely to be surprise inclusions! Sparrow maybe? ?

On another note, I hope that it is an omen that so far this weekend, three “away” teams have triumphed! St Kilda is an away team! ?

If Preuss doesn’t play, I would like to see Keilty. Better that he does the chop-out than Weid as he can be a third tall down forward in the absence of Joel Smith.

I am not convinced on that. People who take out three-game memberships may face the tyranny of distance making more than three games or they may be merely new members which is what we want. If we play the way we all expect this year, they won’t be content just watching three matches and will come on board fully next year. Total Membership numbers are no less critical as classes of membership. Great for the players seeing 70,000 Demon scarf wearing fans packing the stands and supporting them in their Final Series!

I would be wrapped if we made it to 70,000. So far, I am working on converting two long-time barrackers into ‘supporters’. I now might have a crack at another two! ?

I just think that Malthouse has it in for Melbourne generally. He certainly is opposed to the mooted MFC training facilities in Yarra Park diagonally across from his apartment in Wellington Parade (even though it has no impact on him)!

Then we should have an MFC membership category which only (say) gives you a scarf and every single MCC member should automatically be included in it. Collingwood/Carlton/Geelong/Essendon supporters could give their scarves to the homeless but at least all the MCC members who profess to follow Melbourne would then at least come to the footy sporting a scarf (and have a right to claim to be a “supporter”)!

Demonlanders, when I started supporting the MCC Football Club, we were one of the MCC sporting divisions (like bowls, cricket, lacrosse, etc). Now we are stand alone but is that a good thing? Personally, I think we should remain/resume integration (and every single MCC member is automatically a de facto member of the Melbourne Football Club)! Under this scenario, we would be the largest and most powerfull Club in the AFL! ?

Our Maybe it is an unfortunate stereotype but I do personally know some members who are very well off but don’t fork out the extra (and only go to the marquee matches)! I despise their stingyness!

The basic MFC component for MCC members is neglible (less than 15%) and anybody who doesn’t take it out is merely a tightwad (especially when they are likely to spend more days at the footy than watching cricket)! There are very few MCC members who genuinely cannot afford it! (In my case I have a MCC Guest Pass on top of my MCC membership and my MFC membership so I don’t get change from a ‘gorilla’ and a ‘monkey’: I have never been to the cricket in over 50 year’s membership but it is worth every cent watching the Dees march to their first Premiership since 1964!)

Much prefer Jaguar than iSelect! ?
