How can you backdate when they are still training and continuing along with their normal,off-season activities? Saade got two years holiday from St. Kilda which also included training. I don' t see why Essendon players should be treated more leniently!

On the contrary, I predict that both will feature top ten in our B&F this year (as will Salem)!

Wow a thread about players on notice and we get to post #27 before DA brings up Watts, tenth in our B&F in 2014. I would hardly say that a player in our top 25% is "on notice", particularly when his nemesis in Natanui was ninth on West Coast's B&F the same year (and, after all, that is who he is usually compared against)!

Quite frankly, we would all be better off if they expelled Essendon from the AFL, established a new franchise in Canberra and let their 'innocent' players form the basis for the new team (to be coached by Bomber Thompson)!

Speaking personally, I suspect that the answer is yes. I get to every Melbourne game at the "G" but when we are scheduled at Etihad or interstate, I prefer watching it at the pub with my mates.

Not sure why you would have ommitted Frost, although I conceded that the backline is already looking pretty good? I also think that Cross should be given consideration before Bail. Otherwise it is starting to look ok [and will look better again when we get Petracca].

Are some of the Casey guys playing in this to make up the numbers? It would make some logic considering the fact that the MFC is paying their coaches and they are trying to align the game plans.

I don't understand what this "provisionally suspended" joke is about, considering the fact that the Essendon list are still training (and coached again by Hird)? When Saade was suspended from the Saints for two years, he was not even allowed to train until just before his suspension expired (and then it was with their VFL associate)! Why should not Essendon be any different and not have their suspension commence from the date that they are found guilty? Also why should we have to play their topped up VFL team and not be able to play Casey, along with our rookies and players outside our top 22? The players that Essendon is getting in to top up are being trained by their VFL coaching structure rather than Hird and we should be entitled to give our Casey boys a good hit-out against them! If it looks like a VFL side, smells like a VFL side and plays like a VFL side then it is a VFL side and that's who we should pit against them!

Also no problems with Brayshaw starting but the suggestion of swapping him for Gawn is hardly like for like!

Apart from cameos from Clark, we haven't had a an imposing forward (to counter Reiwaldt at the other end) since Neitz retired in 2008 nor have we had a decent midfield over those years (vs, St. Kilda's). This year I am hopinng it is a different story if the current list is fit come game day. We will demolish them in both matches!

P-Man I wish you every success with the continued popularity of the OW Lounge. What an exciting development and long overdue for many disgruntled Demonlanders. I hope that it quickly becomes a haven for all those amateur recruiters out there. Imagine that ill-informed people actually exist who could have believed that Whitfiel, O'Rourke, Plowman, Toumpas, Stringer or Macrae could have represented a better choice than this out-and-out little Champion, clearly the "Player of the Century"!
