No back concerns for Tyson.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 9
Demon Jack replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Brisbane have just dropped half their side and brought in three debutants and a whole other group of inexperienced players. Signs like these are typically those of an upcoming apocalypse (such as the Giants in late 2014, Carlton in late 2015, Essendon this year). Saying that, I feel far more confident in this team than I've felt in a long time. There seems to be some genuine belief in the squad at the moment as opposed to when we were rolled by the Bombers in round 2. Looking forward to seeing ANB have a run! -
Clayton Oliver signs new 2 year deal.

Thrilled with these recent signings. Hunt, Spencer, Viney and now Clarry! Now to lock away TMac, Watts, Tyson and give Jesse the club's bank account details. Still absolutely stoked that we chose Oliver over Parish. While I believe that Parish will be a fantastic player, Oliver has a much higher ceiling and could be absolutely anything. Clarry is still only 18 years old and already built like a brick outhouse with jet engines attached to the sides. Seriously scary to think where he'll be in terms of physicality and skill in five years time. -

I wouldn't mind if Spencer was an inclusion this week. Although he may still be a little underdone, he and Gawn could really stretch the Lion defence when they rest forward. Jetta out is huge blow for defence and I'm not sure if we have a ready to go replacement for him. Saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if Grimes is finally given a run. ANB will certainly be considered but unless he can play as a lockdown defender, I'm not sure if there's a place in the team for him at the moment.

I remember back in 2012 when Lewis and Leroy Jetta were at their peak, and at the time I couldn't help but feel that we recruited 'the dud Jetta.' My goodness was I wrong! Not only has he proved to be the best Jetta, he's easily in our top 5 most important players and still improving. 2014 and 2015 were terrific years for Jetta but he's taken his game to a whole new level this year. The fact he is able to play on key forwards 25+ centrimetres taller than him highlights how good a player he has become. His toughness, pace and ability to rebound are second to none at the moment. I can easily see why he's on the radar of opposition clubs. If he was playing in a Hawthorn or Geelong finals bound team, he would easily be talked up as a potential All-Australian. I love your work Nev. We all do.

Can't see him leaving at all after we gave him a second shot at it back in 2013. Seems a very loyal type. Just can't see it happening.

Jetta gone for a week, Vince free to play.

Yeah...that's a strange one. Jetta will be sorely missed this weekend. Fortunately the Lions aren't known for their potent forward line. Jetta out, ANB in? Interesting to see that Bernie was cleared as well considering he's already been suspended this year. -
Bulldogs were the better team. Simple as that. That being said, there is no doubt that they had some assistance from the umpires. Thought Stretch played his best game for the club while Viney and Tyson were our two best midfielders. Jetta continues to amaze me in how he can stand up and complete well with tall forwards while someone like Garland is so easily beaten. Thought Watts (who as of today, is the only player on our list to kick 100 goals for the club) and McDonald both recovered after lacklustre first halves. Gawn wasn't his normal self today and it impacted on the result. There were some uncharacteristic dropped marks that he would usually clunk easily. Michie wasn't bad either. Looked OK at half back. Our defence certainly needs some attention. Not sure if the idea would be overly popular but I wouldn't giving Hogan a crack at CHB for a couple games just to assist in stemming the flow while gaining some form back in the process (although minus a couple of missed set shots, I thought he was ok today) Dissapointing loss but nothing to overreact about. Boys will come out firing against the Lions next week. Go Dees!

Happy 100 goals Wattsy.
-
Good goal Tommy.
-
That has disaster written all over it. Thank goodness for Clarry.
-
Wow....
-
Pederson clearly held. No free kick.
-
Seriously hope we're a decent chance at picking up Michael Hurley at years end.
-
Gawn is being significantly beaten at the moment. Dropped a couple of easy of marks as well.
-
I sincerely hate saying this but Garland is done.
-
Jetta is our best defender at the moment.

BenKen!
