Without going total 'tin foil hat', this has the makings of a last second/11th hour deal that the AFL is purposely holding back to ensure there's a last minute surprise on deadline day so more people tune into their coverage. ...on second thought, pass the Multix.

Welcome to Demonland: Changkuoth Jiath
I think he'd come pretty cheaply. Probably around a third round pick. Spent a lot of time as the sub this year and injury has been a worry over his career.

Don't get too excited. Look at the Wikipedia page for Casey Fields and the background is one of the first images listed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casey_Fields

Farewell Christian Petracca
Even though the media are clearing pushing the Petracca + Pick 24 for Picks 6+7, such is their disdain for the MFC at the present time that I'd bet money that they'll turn around and say 'Melbourne didn't play hardball enough' or ' Petracca was clearly worth more' once the deal goes through. Everyone is kicking us while we're down at the moment. With this deal, we have the chance to really dig our heels in and say 'enough'. Hopefully we'll be singing Tim Lamb's praises in about 55 hours time.

If Bailey requests a trade late in the piece, perhaps we believe it might force GC’s hand and make them more willing to trade him for Petracca.

My respect for Lamb would increase dramatically if he did this. He won't though.

Cheers Ralphy. There's still hope!

Still raw but has a natural match winning ability. Has mostly played forward in his career so far but is destined to end up as a game breaking midfielder. Knows where the sticks are and is very handy in the air as well. Very similar player to what Petracca was circa 2016-17.- Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
The number #41 is free if he wants to take it. If he does, he'd be odds on to top the record for most goals in that number (Chris Woodman with 31).- Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
I'm excited about this guy. I think the five man interchange next season alongside his ability to play forward increases his chances of getting a game. We've lacked a proper ruck/forward for years.- Bailey Humphrey
Me refreshing Demonland every five minutes instead of doing any actual work.- Farewell Clayton Oliver
Sigh..we're going to end up with a future third rounder aren't we?- Farewell Christian Petracca
Geelong's knack of plucking guns out of nowhere using late picks is seriously going to be tested if they go through with that, especially with Tassie (tentatively) on the horizon.- Farewell Christian Petracca
Unlikely, but I really wish we part with pick 28 instead of 24. Clubs will likely come knocking for pick 24 on draft night and we could profit nicely.- Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
I went to North vs Saints late in the season and Heath impressed me with his physicality, something we haven't really had in a backup ruck since Preussy. Think he snagged a couple that day as well. Shrewd bit of business here.- Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Question... I know the club would prefer to trade for Mihocek to avoid diluting the Spargo compensation pick (currently 42) However, if we end up bringing in Mihocek as a free agent, what's stopping us from trading the Spargo pick in another trade beforehand (an example might be the deal for Heath) so it's not affected?- Farewell Judd McVee
My thinking as well. There's bound to be a slider or two that a club will want first dibs on come the second round. Richmond made out like bandits in that trade. North's pick 2 this year for Richmond's pick 27 last year.- Wade Derksen
I can't help but feel sorry for Wade. Wanted to leave at the end of 2024 when we had serious interest in him but GWS held him to his contract saying he's a 'required player' Spends 2025 still playing VFL footy while Melbourne retains their interest. GWS are resigned to losing him and bring in Laverde as defensive depth. The 2025 trade week arrives amid a period of significant change for the MFC and we are reported to have cooled on our interest after over a year, leaving Wade uncontracted and without a home in 2026. Footy is a cruel game.- Farewell Judd McVee
Does anyone think we try and snag Freo's first (currently 12) as part of this deal?- Farewell Clayton Oliver
The only scenario in which Clarry goes to Collingwood for something like pick 38 is if they are willing to take on the financial commitment of his full contract. $700k discount or not, pick 38 is unders.- Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
I don't mind it. Petty can return to defence and it takes the pressure off JVR and Jefferson. As long as we don't bomb it on his head and actually kick it to him out on a lead, we might have a good one here.- Farewell Christian Petracca
Reminds me of ANB. Hard runner and provides a link between the midfield and forward line.- 2025 Player Reviews: #7 Jack Viney
When he's 'on' he's still far and above one of the best bash and crash clearance midfielders in the competition. Without any intel, it looked as though he was fighting a few niggles this season. Just didn't look quite right for most of the year. Still an important player for us.- 2025 Player Reviews: #6 Caleb Windsor
Windsor will be like a new recruit for us next season. Looked down on confidence for much of this season playing half back. He started to look more assured when we started playing him more in the middle. His speed will be important for us in 2026. - Bailey Humphrey
