  1. I would dearly love Jesse Hogan back in our forward line. However, Jesse has publicly spoken about how he's struggled with the pressure of living in an AFL dominated state. I don't think he'd be playing the football he is now if he was still at Melbourne or to a lesser extent Freo. Sydney seems to be a nice fit for him.
  2. I'm not giving up on Matty J, not by a long shot, but it's clear like with many of our other key forwards choices over the last decade (Watts, Weideman, Schache, Fullerton), he lacks aggression and the want and desire to crash packs. I think his strength is similar to Fritsch's ('21-'23 Fritsch that is) in that he can find separation from his opponent and lead into space. This of course goes against our nonsensical game plan of 'bombing it long' and praying that someone can take a strong contested mark. Sadly, it seems like aggression is one of those traits that you can't really teach...
  3. It's a bit of an indictment on our front half when a 19 year old first year midfielder is our most dangerous forward option. Keep on keeping on young Harvey.
  4. I think it's a big enough sample size now (9 rounds) to suggest that fitness is clearly an issue. After 9 games, we've kicked a whopping 14 goals in our final quarters this year. 6 of those came last week against the Eagles where we still conceded five goals.
  5. 6. Langford - Did his Rising Star chances no harm 5. Gawn - Did his AA chances no harm 4. Pickett - Only player who looked consistently dangerous 3. Bowey - Continued his consistent season 2. Windsor - Starting to find his feet in '25 over the last couple of weeks 1. Petracca - Looked ok but disposal continues to frustrate
  6. Our inability to develop a key forward post Neitz needs to be studied.
  7. Strangely optimistic about this game which is odd because I thought we were going to get jumped by WC last weekend.
  8. Fresh from 7News In: OIiver, JVR, Jefferson Out: Viney, Petty, Melksham Unsure why Viney and Melksham are out.
  9. Another stunning collection! This is a gargantuan sized project. I can't imagine the work that goes into organising and editing these! Loved the inclusion of Lever's first goal with us. Not the most flashy of the bunch but extremely memorable nonetheless!
  10. Easily the best game of Daniel Turner's career to date. 19 touches (career high) at 84% 7 marks (3 inside 50) 6 intercepts 3 goals in the 2nd half
  11. Lindsay was quieter tonight but barely put a foot wrong. Langford is a jet. That left boot of his is class. Ashcroft aside, both are real chances for the Rising Star this year.
  12. Gawn Chandler Turner Petracca Melksham Rivers Langford and Windsor unlucky to miss out. Also thought Spargo played pretty well tonight.
  13. Out: Petty (concussion) In: JVR Oliver is obviously touch and go but I could imagine him coming in for Sharp.
  14. Gawn, Chandler and Turner were all fantastic tonight. Melksham had some great moments as well. Some fantastic forward 50 entries.
  15. Gawn is God
  16. Expecting a Tim Kelly masterclass. That guy always plays well against us. Also, I mentioned this in another thread, but I get the feeling that Harley Reid will be pumped up for tonight considering he was at the forefront of our demolition around this time last year. Curtailing the influence of those two will go a long way towards a Demon victory.
  17. Come a long way has Tommy Mac! He's having another superb season after his career was halted with injuries in 22-23. Should notch up 250 games later this season if he stays fit. I can't see him being dropped once Lever returns. Provided he wants to keep playing, I could see him playing for another 2-3 seasons.
  18. 37 goals from his first 26 games as a third string forward seems to indicate that he knows where the goals are. Admittedly, I haven't seen much of him. Can he take a mark?
  19. This is a real danger game. Eagles are under the pump and are still winless. I think it was our first fixture against the Eagles last year where Harley Reid annouced himself and kicked GOTY against Trac. He's had a fairly average start to 2025, but he's going to be up and about I reckon...
  20. Maxy's form over the last fortnight certainly puts him in line for an 8th AA jacket. I can't believe there were some folks who were writing him off a few weeks ago. What a gun.
  21. The future is bright! Regardless of what pick Essendon end up netting from our finish this year, I feel very comfortable knowing that we'll have these two jets lining up in our midfield for the next 15 years.
  22. O-Mac playing a blinder! Key influence in Freo's last two goals.
  23. Gawn Bowey Petracca Salem Chandler Rivers Sparrow and Langdon also very good.
  24. Gee we have a knack of picking up tall forwards who have no physical presence whatsoever. Fullerton, Schache, Weideman to name a few.
