  1. No. Good stock doesn't always mean sporting prowess.
  2. Probably Jordan Lewis in the Preliminary Final in Perth. Saw it first hand unfortunately. Next.
  3. This gets better. Ageing and massive hammy history. Our soft tissue management has been 3rd world. Billy is a great player, from good stock (Mum) but we have NFI. Panic merchants.
  4. If he is, then that is a bargain considering Twigs is on 850 and Maysie on similar coin. As Rooey said, Frost gives supreme effort, and is the defender that most concerns an oppo forward. We are a slow team, with sub effort everywhere. Furthermore he is a MDMT that cam play small (Cameron Charlie) or a tall (Daniher). The typically smug MFC supporter has suddenly gone from 'not AFL standard' to 'dont overlook his deficiency'. We dont have a frigging clue. Sadly, I am not just talking about the average supporter. This is Goodwin-Pert rebuilding, and not sane sensible and sober decision making for this supposed window. One swallow made our summer. How pathetic. Frost goes, and the membership dept shouldnt bother calling.
  5. Says an MFC supporter who was probably bowing to Roosy on Fox after a final last year. Fine line aint it.
  6. Love the post-mortems and re-writing history. Fact is pure and simple is: 1. we built a list that lacked outside speed, and yet recruited guys like Lewis and later Preuss who are essentially dinosaurs with their movement. Yet we pass on Saad and others. Roos finally questioned why we would go after Tomlinson WHEN WE LACKED OUTSIDE SPEED. 2. The smalls that we have recruited are absolute lightweights that can't stick a tackle and are easy to tackle. How Spargo got the gig ahead of Garlett in the latter part of 2018 is still beyond me. Even in the great 2018 year, a few teams (eg. St. Kilda) exposed us badly for pace. We were lucky coming up against the slowest teams in the comp in finals in Haw and Geel circa 2018.
  7. I reckon Plough would have done more than Bails and Neeldy, and even Goody. The only MFC coach that came close to doing what Plough did at the dogs in the last 50 years is Northey; yet Northey wasn't successful at Richmond either. Plough wasn't successful at Richmond, but at least there was some foundation there for future success....Like Barass from 81-85 if you get my drift. I back my coaching selections (Roos, Plough, Lyon, Ratten) over 17 years on these forums over those that the club employed (Lyon) and the many simpletons like yourself who wouldn't have a flaming clue.
  8. Fitzy as second ruck, probably nudges out Preuss for mine. Preuss is no second ruck, despite being able to snag one or two. He is Tex Walker like with his mobility and turning circle. Preuss's only hope is a Mumford type primary ruck role. Full stop. Another example of going for a slower type, when our deficiency (Roos finally blurted it out last night) is our outside speed deficiency. Another gross error. Lewis can provide leadership. Preuss can be our 2nd ruck. Yet Saad and co. weren't on our radar....and we let Howe, a bonefide leader in his prime waltz out. Yes the Howe thing I agree with you 100%. The simpletons that didn't rate him, I just could never understand. At Sydney, Roos rarely let gold go, other than his no DH policy. This was a DH decision.
  9. Clarkson is a master. Frawley has always been a headless chook out of defence. Hawthorn structure up and work hard to give him an easy option. Clarko will also throw Frost on the wing and see what comes. Did Goody try Frosty on the wing so that chaos balls could enter I50 ? No. Oppo defenders knew exactly where the pill was going. But well done Goody for trying Jones and Lewis on the MCG wing earlier in the year. Absolutely inspiring stuff. Would need an interpreter to understand Mitch Robinson's piece on being a modern-day wingman.
  10. Goodwin, Taylor and Bartlett should tour Waverley. I’ll pay for their Uber. Goody has troubles differentiating carp from ‘the good stuff’. Ross Lyon 2021 pTGR
  11. If I am Frost, I am asking for a big pay-rise seeing that Toothpicks Lever and Maysie are soaking up in excess of 1.6mil. Lever 850k that cost 2 first rounders? What a joke. Gold Coast will be laughing at us soon.
  12. Well, well well. Clarkson sells us treacle in Lewis. Then, the best coach in the business wants Frost. Do the frigging maths MFC. Getting rid of Watts was supposed to be our panacea. Now Frost. Clarko playing us easily. I think I’m over this basket-case of a club. Divested. The simpletons deserve it. All of it.
  13. Have any Roos imports (coaching staff) being shown the door?
  14. Haha. The slowest u-turn in footy since Mick Nolan.
  15. When he goes Rufus, who the hell on our list can break a tackle? Kent at speed was difficult to grab. Petracca is currently 2nd hardest to tackle in the comp. He will get Dusty in 2 years. We are currently the easiest team to tackle in the comp. No speed, no momentum, 1 bull. Good luck without him.
  16. Like Melksham instructing ANB to ‘kick it to me’ during that last shot. Melksham strikes me as selfish infield; and his instant defence is deplorable. Takes a mark on the lead only, OK crumber, not super quick, poor defensively. Us supporters, the club and the footy world judged many players on their strengths and ignore several weaknesses. With Frost it was the opposite.
  17. We recruit Lewis for his leadership. A leader takes the group with him. Either Lewis’s leadership is overrated or the group can’t follow.
  18. You may have a point with the monotonic delivery, but Lyon’s content is second to none. Goody is young but gives us rhetoric. Lyon can’t be questioned even going back to the transcript. In terms of content, Lyon speaks footy very very well.
  19. Let the cobbler do the cobbling.
  20. Also, our ‘success’ was a blip or an aberration. Bit different from their 3-4 year stretch. When MFC finish 17th at a lot of things, our culture is to take solace at identifying the ‘18th’; and enable a chronic tolerance to mediocrity. Bottom 4 is home. Thank god for Gold Coast in 2019.
  21. Not finished yet either. 2-3 more
  22. OK. Probably 99% likely. But if you want to the record set straight, let's do it librarian.
  23. Roos OTC basically said he has grossly underachieved as coach with the talent at his disposal. Hinkley relies on the odd trick (smash Gawn; get Lachie Neale) rather than rely on a sustainable system that he has created. Grossly overrated, but loved how he went bold in a super-draft. Port are set talent-wise for the next 5-10 years.
  24. Clarko was right. He was good at going 3rd man up, then they change the rules. He was good at going to his knees sliding in, then they changed those rules. Clarko knew the rules made him more ineffective by 10-20%, then you have age. Lewis has been OK in the last half of this year and goes out on a medium. Leaders need to stand up when it's most needed OR when things aren't going well. Most needed? PF 2018. Cross. Not going well? 2019. Tick.
