  1. I canned the Neeld appointment when Garry was salivating on the phone with Mick. I could see why the club extended Goody's contract as I thought Pyke was a dead man walking 12 months ago. I don't say things to get taken seriously, but many of the club's decisions over the journey, backed by simpletons, have been one continuous loop of a joke. Fact is that Goodwin is doubting himself big-time. He is looking in the mirror every day and asking 'what can I do?'. Ross as Head of Coaching puts us in a position where we are at last not following; the pressure eases on Goodwin and our investment is not lost in Goodwin. Goody is 3 years away. He needs to clear his head. The supporters universally want Roos back. If you can't get the original, then his clone is the next best thing. But the club and more importantly its supporters, avoid tough unpalatable decisions. This is one opportunity. Pert knows Lyon back to front. Roos knows Lyon back to front. Goodwin is doubting himself and crying for help. The players need less confusion. Ross ticks every box. Ross will jump right now at accepting unders. She who hesitates is lost.
  2. Must get it done. Time for the club to lead the competition. Put Lyon in as Head of Coaching for 3 years. Goodwin Matchday. I won't stomach Goody's press conferences in 2020 with same "frustration....I believe in this group...connection". Ross can take the pressers. Lets get the Titanic back on track. Ignore the simpletons who just want pretty footy. Truly continue the Roos rebuild...or start again. Show some brains and balls for once MFC. Get it done.
  3. So what happens when Gawn has an average year in 2020, and Frost wins the B&F? Simpletons reward the best player with the captaincy every year or 2. Viney should co-captain with Gawn. End of story. Jones has served well and enjoy his last year or so captaincy-free.
  4. How many first rounders do we want to waste? 2 for Lever in a super draft who was always gettable with 1. 1 for May who is 28 round 1. Now 1 for Brown. And the simpletons then ask , “Where are our rising stars?”. In a hole MFC? Keep digging.
  5. Unlike Richmond and Collingwood (at full strength), our smalls are of little value at all. They are easy to tackle, and have no capacity to keep the ball secure. On the flipside, they exert no physical pressure. Most damning of all, they ain’t super quick and can’t break a line. Exception Lockhart, who is tough, fearless and good in air. As for Spargo , Stretch, Wagner, and co... it is complete rebuild in relation to our ground ball smalls.
  6. You are a loser Ross! Don’t come here. From a team that is home in the bottom 4. You probably would have advised Adelaide to stay clear of Malcolm Blight, who failed to win a flag in 89, 92 and 94.
  7. A Milne bounce and a Scarlett kick gives him 2 flags against the best sides of that year. Against the Hawks, who were the best team by daylight, they are in the game at 3/4 time. Continually failed on the biggest stage? You are joking. From an MFC supporter who wouldn’t know the difference between Broadway and TAFE theatre.
  8. How do you think Pert got the gig? Wake up.
  9. Roos was the architect of our rebuild. Roos believed that clubs should change their model with an older head of coaching. Yet we persist with the older model? Many miss Roos. Lyon is the closest thing to him. Offer him 4 years as HOC. We haven’t got the time for Goody to grow into the role. Goody stays no.2. Am I turning into a panicked simpleton? Maybe. Roos and Bartlett...get it done.
  10. What happens in a GF if the last play is that; but Frost rips of his shirt and holds it in his hands. Petrucelle keeps running bare-chested the goal, putting them 3 points in front.
  11. So Anthony Rocca struggled at the start of the year?
  12. May has returned to the field on each occasion after incurring a soft-tissue issue. When the most basic fundamental is ignored then you deserve the ramifications.
  13. Most of our list give 90%. Frost gives 20% more than most our list. Some call it 110%. I call it 108%. If giving more than 100% is impossible, our list is probably going just above 83%, if Frosty is giving 20% more. You do the maths.
  14. Am I surprised that many doubted him before Lever and May? No. Am I surprised that many lazily lumped him in to the Froscar bucket? No. Am I surprised that Dermott highlighted Froscar and overlooked our most experienced performer in our back half in the Prelim Final of 2018? No. Frost is valuable in spite of Lever-May, not because of them. But if it makes the JCLs (johnny-come-latelys) feel better about their judgement... Only the intelligent and unemotional could see Frost's value. Even Goodwin had him languishing at Casey at the start of 2018; and Roos, and only a few others on here could not understand why. Frost will be at the peak of his tackle-breaking ability in 2020/21 and 22. A smart coach will tell him to keep taking them on, attract 3 tacklers and free up 3 team mates for an easy handball receive. A smart coach might even try him on a wing in a dead rubber. pTGR
  15. “I think they’re paying massive money to Lever and May and Frost is their best defender,” Riewoldt told SEN. “I’m more confident in Frost at the moment than the other two to beat a man. “If I was playing tomorrow and the three of them lined up I reckon I’d find it harder to get a kick on Frost than the other two. “I know Frost can stuff it up from time to time, but he gives great effort.” (https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2019-nick-riewoldt-garry-lyon-unpack-issues-at-melbourne/news-story/c4d626fff76702fe3ad9cb27ffc7ad87) 100% effort and speed. No wonder most of you wanted him delisted from the club earlier this year. Like the club, it's in our DNA not to value what we lack. David King was too smart for his own good with the kryptonite comment. As far as our supporters go, probably the other end of the spectrum. Stick it up them Frosty.
  16. I give Lyon credit where it is due. Even in our 2018 year, which will undoubtedly nourish most MFC supporters for the next 5 years, Lyon did consistently say that we couldn't handle expectation. For instance, we lost a few as favourites in 2017/18 for memory, and Lyon predicted it. This year, thank goodness, he is the only media personality to come out and say that maybe 2018 was an aberration. Can't think of any media expert that has predicted Melbourne, let alone be brutally honest about what we are. The alarm bells were ringing round 1, but all the experts thought we'd come good.
  17. I thought that the wet actually showed that they were men, and we were boys.
  18. I like your first paragraph. As for the first 10 minutes v Saints, that was simply due to Gawn dominating. As soon as Marshall neutralised him, we were shot.
  19. 10 and 15 in a super draft probably gets you more than Sylvia and McLean.
  20. Frost should be tried on a wing...no doubt. Frost reminds me of Liam Jones who would be playing SANFL seconds if he wasn't tried in another position. Frost doesn't have to be moved, as he is surely top 10 B&F this year for us down back, but we are so one paced and easy to tackle, we have to use these dead rubbers to leave no stone unturned. Frost should be encouraged to take them on, even if he gets tackled 1 in 6. If he plays wing, he can run and send a chaos ball into F50. A chaos ball into F50, means that the defenders don't even know where it's going. That is got to be better than the disaster of 2019 forward entries. No surprise that Weed got concussed banging into one of his teammates in the VFL today. Our forwards have NFI about separation.
  21. Melbourne - Had a crack Kicking - can’t hit shed Lever - Pretty amazing courage Bruce/Membrey - Love playing us Frost - Brilliant and [censored] StK - Big strong fast
