  1. Beamer had a huge heart and huge contributor over many many years in red and blue. B&F winner. Not a great end but a good career.
  2. What about we substitute .... # 4 to GWS for Tomlinson and pick 20. # 20 to Swans for Tom Mitchell
  3. Harmes due for a debut next week ... maybe In for Bail or JKH
  4. IF we finish 16th (likely) and Frawley leaves as a free agent and AFL gives us justice by a 1st round compo pick ... We get picks 3 and 4 Trade: Trade pick 4 to GWS for Adam Tomlinson and GWS Pick 20. (GWS get pick 2 and 4) Trade: Trade pick 20 to Swans for Garry Rohan. Both have showed great ability to add class to back half, but for me, both would be huge wins and fit in our fwd line (alongside Dawes & Hogan). Keep 3 for Petracca or Brayshaw.
  5. Wolfinden should be drafted. Big heart in a little man. Good pace.
  6. 6 - Jetta ... what a year !! 5 - Tyson. All class 4- Gawn. Very promising still 3- N Jones. He is 100% Heart 2- Jamar. A warrior 1- Cross. He is a lion with a big heart. If only he was 10 yrs younger
  7. I think we will finish 16th on 5 wins and Frawley will go. Thats pick 3 & 4. Keep one for young gun and trade the other. WE NEED HOPE. MY HOPE INDICATOR NEEDS BOOSTING AS IT HAS DROPPED DRAMATICALLY AFTER THE LIONS GAME. OUR STYLE OF PLAY & SKILLS WAS UGLY.
  8. What a joke... Merrett cleared !!! WTF What happened to protecting the head. It was reckless, high contact and low impact. 150 points and 2 wks or guilty plea = 1 week. WTF x 22
  9. Dawes is getting ignored too much. Man on Man he is a very goid pption. He must stay within the fwd 50 as a target and as a scoring option. We must try for our firwards to not get sucked up the ground.
  10. SOLUTIONS NOW ... WEDNESDAY + ... THINKING CAPS TIME Player positioning - Watts, Howe to fwd line (with Dawes & JKH/Blease/Kent) - Frawley as a running half back - Back 3 talls: McDonald, Dunn, Garland - Mckenzie on Jordan Lewis Style of play: - N Jones to kick it forwards (80% of his disposals) - One HB, One kick out of defence - fast ball movement when in possession - Vince to kick it 60+ when he gets it - do NOT let Hawks have a spare man behind the play Ins ... M Jones (Speed) Michie (Grunt), Clisby (clean ball user) Outs ... Tapscott, Bail, Terlich Watts as sub.
  11. It's all about style of play. What suits us. Skill is needed. Malcevski, O'Keefe do not waste possession like 19/22 on Sunday.
  12. SORRY forgot - negative: going to ground in a contest (terlich, watts, bail)
  13. Win quarters ... blah blah. Win GAMES !!!!!!!
  14. agree 100% ... you can have more scoring shots, yet lose inside 50s count 34-60. Kicking efficiency - kick it backwards. Chip. Chip. Chip. Turnover. 80% efficiency... 100% dumb. Stats don't measure lack of pressure and intensity. Jack Watts falls over in contests... no stats on that.
  15. Its not about draft or players ... its STYLE OF PLAY, Watch the hawks, swans, freo, etc. they play on, they move quickly. It's not chip, chip, static chip, kick backwards ... turnover. We have to keep a foundation. Structure. Corridor footy. Chf (Hogan, Howe, Watts) to play through. Dawes and small fwd (Kent/Blease/ JKH) inside 50. I would rather play on and run and kick goals then sit on average of 6-7 goals a game. MFC ...You are a fighter on the ropes with your guard up. Sooner or later, your gloves drop and whilst you last 7-8 rounds, you get worn down. Then bang bang and its over.
  16. Retire - Clark, Byrnes Free agent - Frawley Delist - Evans, Nicholson, Fitzpatrick, Terlich Trade - Strauss, Tapscott On the fringe: Blease, Barry, Bail
  17. Oscar Mcdonald is a rookie chance. I think he will develop like his brother. Similar types.
  18. Changes Ins ... Michie, M Jones, Cross Outs... Terlich, Bail, Tapscott At least Blease runs and runs. Watts as the sub !!! Surely his work rate has to be questioned
  19. Don't ask or expect handouts... man up.
  20. What went right vs Lions: - Tom Mcdonald, Lynden Dunn and Neville Jetta have cemented themselves as defensive line - Dom Tyson continues to drive forward with class and efficency - Dean Kent took the game on. He plays on, attacks. Bad mistake in 3rd qtr but should continue confident play - We win 50/50 contested footy. The effort was there. What went Wrong vs Lions: - poor decision making... Kent, Vince, Riley, Terlich, Bail. Jones handballed instead of kicking a 50 metre clearance or fwd entry -static play. Chip, Chip, Chip ... turnover. Clear lack of players running and demanding the footy - missed targets by hand and foot - poor goal kicking - footy smarts are missing. Vineys 50 penalty was an example - ruckwork was poor (jamar struggled) - ignored Dawes when open inside 50 ... happened 6-7 times !! - clearances. We are 18th by a mile. - over use of handball, especially in back 50 & fwd 50 - kicking backwards. Happened 17 times when clearly we could go inside 50. So negative - no fwd crumbing and goals were from marks or free kicks There was no entertainment value. Players not looking to score. The style of containment has to change.
  21. Melbourne will be wearing our away jumper this week. Orange vests and training cones on their heads. Seriously ... a new game plan is needed.
  22. agree. I am just really angry. So much sugar coating this year. "well at least our percentage is better at 70% and 4 wins". The wins were due to opposition not converting (they all had higher insude 50s and scoring shots). Todays loss to Lions was embarrassing.
  23. It is clearly the game style. Defensive, static, boring. Players going backwards. Over handballing. I cannot believe players handball when clear inside 25 metres of goal.
  24. The skills were poor. The decision making was even worse. Kicking backwards WTF WTF WTF WTF !!!!!!! handball to stationary players Miss goal from 9 metres out Aaaaargh !!!!!!! Handball 7 times in a circle. Paul Roos must be suicidal
