Trade Targets
GEELONG premiership players Gary Rohan and Brandan Parfitt are among seven Cats delisted after their season ended in a preliminary final loss to Brisbane. Phoenix Foster, Oscar Murdoch, James Willis, Mitch Hardie have also been delisted having not played an AFL game. Former Hawthorn tall Emerson Jeka has also been axed. *** I hate the Cats. But I admire how ruthless they are. These are not easy calls as each have shown real ability. Rohan could play another year. Parfitt is capable. Hardie was excellent in the VFL winning a role in VFL team if the year. Foster is like a young Tomahawk. But they are ruthless. They see them as not quite premiership material. So they are out. They are after new youngsters. They are after Bailey Smith. They are after 1-2 Werribee players in the same way they got Mannagh. MFC hangs onto players with extensions and extra years beyond what they have demonstrated. FFS. Did I mention *** I have the Cats. Parfitt is a chance. Obviously he had talent. It’s the hard work to bring out the talent. Does he still have it ?????

New List Manager - Tim Lamb?
The point was offering multi year contracts to players clearly in decline. 29 year old players struggling to get on the field and struggling to get a game and on bigger salaries. We helped the dogs and saints and crows and clogged our list. If the cap is too tight, then surely younger hungrier players to fit the need would be the better strategy.

New List Manager - Tim Lamb?
@Adam The God we will agree to disagree. Dogs and Saints wanted them out. They were NOT getting a game. They had multi year contracts with bigger $$ for VFL players and they wanted them off their lists. That’s the facts. If you want fill a need, find that player from another club. A player who is still up to performing and improving the team. Eg. We got Hunter. Hawks got Amon (unrestricted free agent). Left foot wingman.

New List Manager - Tim Lamb?
@Mach5 The point was why waste list spots of players who are just random salary dumps like Hunter and Billings. Sure we gave up later draft spots but missed the chance for good youngsters or emerging VFL talent. They are now list cloggers imv. 29 year old declining injured types (Mcadam) are not the players I’m wanting to see added. Especially not giving up 2nd rounder picks to get them. Other clubs brought in talent to add to areas that they needed. If you salary cap is tight, don’t invest in older players on 3 year contracts. Go with younger hungry types. Anyway it’s done but you need to learn and don’t repeat the sins of the past.

2024 Brownlow Medal
Star Christian Petracca was flying early in the season and finished on top of the Demons' leaderboard despite missing the second half of 2024. There were few surprises for Melbourne, with Max Gawn second to Petracca for most votes, although Harrison Petty's three-vote game against Geelong in round eight did surprise. Petty got just one vote from the coaches in that encounter, but full rewards from the umpires for his 13 disposals, nine marks and one goal. Total votes: 67 Christian Petracca 16, Max Gawn 13,Jack Viney 8, Trent Rivers 7, Ed Langdon 5, Clayton Oliver 5, Bayley Fritsch 4, Harrison Petty 3 🤣🤣🤣, Kozzy Pickett❌3, Judd McVee1, Christian Salem1, Jacob van Rooyen1

For the social media team or the actual list???

Welcome to Demonland: Tom Campbell
No from me. Unless we are looking for the new captain/coach for Casey Demons.
-
Wade Derksen
Wade Derksen is a Yes as long as we don’t “over pay”. He’s versatile and brings in mature frame. Start with pick 61 in this years draft. Future 3rd round pick is the absolute most I’d offer. 2 1/2 years on AFL list and zero games. Admittedly stuck behind Taylor and Buckley in the Giants defence.
