That’s why we hate the Cats. Achieved too much !!! Chris Scott. Arrogant piece of 💩. But probably feels like that given their record!!!
-
Cats 1- smart recruiting from other teams Dangerfield Cameron Tuohy Stanley Stengle Bruhn 2- role players brought in Mannagh Humphries 3- speed and skill through the contest and through the corridor 4- second and third efforts 5- Dangerfield is still a star 6- defenders play defence … forwards play forward… mids are mids. 7- come home factor- Bruhn, Henry, 8- development. Zac Guthrie. Dempsey. Stewart. Atkins 9- the Geelong throw = handball 10- small forwards. Stengle. Miers. Close. Score goals !!!

Damon Hollow - Calder THEN of course there is Noah Yze - Dees (Cat A rookie - father son) and Ricky Mentha - Dees (rookie Cat B, NGA) This is a deep draft with plenty of talent , youngsters already showing AFL prepared skills. Though any youngster post 50 is more a rookie chance The only “Phantom” with real credence is Cal Twomey’s late mail in the weeks close to the draft, ideally a week or so pre draft. This is because his media role gives him access to club recruiters and more notably player agents privy to the levels of interest shown by clubs in specific players.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really surprised that Luke Kennedy isn’t spoken about more as a bargain draft pick. Plays like Andrew Brayshaw. Can win it close. Can run and spread. Tackles. Smart user of the footy. Has really showed his ability in last few games with 30+ possession games and impact. He’s alongside a star studded Dragons midfield but definitely holds his own. -
Coates Talent League 2024

Thanks @manny100 i like the tackles count. Shows intent and competitive nature. That seemed a little missing from his game. Definitely got the athleticism for AFL. -
No. Too slow now. Gets exposure defensively. Good skills but too short and too slow. Modern footy demands athleticism and defensive ability as well. Dogs saw it with Hunter. They now see it with Daniel. He was good. But it’s now passed him.
-
No. Not for the Dees. Sam Day is 32 tomorrow. 14 years at the Suns. 155 games. He’s done. Injury just hurt his career most of the way through unfortunately. Probably 4-5 years too late now. He should be allowed to gracefully retire and be a leader at Southport or Palm Beach footy club or go to where he can enjoy finals or winning a premiership !!
-
I think Kangas would like a Luke Trainir type. I’m hoping. I think the Eagles would like a Jagga Smith type. I’m hoping. Dees best three options imv are Langford, O’Sullivan, Lalor. If any are available at our pick, then happy days.
-
ANB. He has played 96 out of 97 games possible in the last 4 years. Super consistent. Super reliable. ANB and MFC pick 51 for Crows pick 25. They are getting a player who walks into their best group (7-8) and is a leader.
-
Yes then you turn to young and hungry VFL players with an upwards trajectory. All would’ve been reasonable low cash. Not recruits players (like we did) who are on downwards cycle and still in contracts $$$ higher than normal.
-
None !!

Coates Talent League 2024
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
2024 RMC Coates Talent League Team of the Year finalised Likely at least 18-19 players of this team here will be drafted -
No.
-
Do not let Tim Lamb near this deal. It’s a good move if we can get him. Fits the needs !!! But consider he’s untried at AFL level (Derksen might even get delisted by giants) and wants to leave for family reasons. It’s a pick in the 50s at best for GWS.

RIP. Tremendous loss to the footy world and journalism. He was not a vulture like other dirt mongers like McClure or Barrett etc. He accepted the Neal-Bullen position “Dees have handled this with maturity and acceptance”. He saw the Dees list correctly. “Draft the elite kids. They’ve drafted superbly in the last 10 years. Stop getting in the Billings and Fullerton types. Dees can rebound back “. Noted Jay Clark 💩💩💩try to again spike up the culture issue and the likely loss of Kozzzzy. -
Jagga Smith plays like Sam Walsh or indeed reminds me of Caleb Serong in his draft year. Some were saying they were small. Agree he’s not big but he’s so smart with the footy and his running is elite. Is he as good as Harley Reid? No. But that’s a tough comparison. Jagga Smith. Strengths are his decision making and ball use. He is probably the most skilled of all the top 5/6 mids. He creates. His running is elite. Watch his running after he disposes of the footy. He’s on the move. That’s what you see in elite midfielders. That’s why they get to many contests. Watch Butters. He’s similar in that way.
-
Definitely elite players in this draft especially the top 10. Keep pick 5. With Crows lining up Draper, we will get access to an elite midfielder at 5 no matter who is on the board.
-
Really hope Dees grab the pick 25 off the Crows. Likely try to pickup Cooper Hynes from the Stingrays. Hes got that burst of speed, toughness and great goal sense. Perfect across half forward and rotate through midfield.
-
Good call. Unlucky not to get more opportunities at the Giants. Would be very handy with his size.

Too early. … wait until end of November.

Absolutely the number one target next year. Nothing less than a 6 year contract. Andrew Brayshaw will turn 26 at end of next year. Six year deal will be sought and will push Freo into uncomfortable territory. You never know !!!
-
Again Tim Lamb will have a big whiteboard and is setting out an agenda midfield depth Key defender (May ageing, Tmcd on last legs, Tommo will go elsewhere, Adams still a work in progress) Ruck relief for Gawn … Verrall & Fullarton seen as unlikely. Try to keep JVR as key forward impact Protect Pick 5 … hands off !!! Get pick 25 off Crows for ANB Wishlist … Peatling (GWS) pick up the phone to managers of …Angus Sheldrick (Swans), Neil Erasmus (Freo), Seamus Mitchell (hawks ) Jai Serong (hawks) , Nick Bryan (ess) , Ben Hobbs (ess) Peter Wright (ess) Out of contract …Davies (suns), Kreuger ( pies) Names to see what they could add … Parfitt (cats) Rosas (suns), Brodie (Freo)
