Yes happy days. The Gawn-Grundy combo will be an experiment but it gives them options and even allows each to have a “managed” game through the year. Ruckwork can be brutal on the body and we’d like to sustain big Maxy as long as possible. At pick 27, it’s a good deal. Tim Lamb held firm. He’s welcome back into the Demonland poker night. GREATER Western Sydney recruit Toby Bedford says the opportunity to play more senior footy was ultimately the reason why he opted to request a trade from Melbourne. Bedford played 18 games in four seasons for the Demons, including 16 appearances this year, but the majority of those came as the medical sub. The small forward was ultimately part of a three-way trade which also saw Melbourne part ways with Fremantle-bound Luke Jackson on Monday. Bedford shed some light on why he decided to leave Melbourne with the opportunity for more game time ultimately being the sticking point. "It was quite a big decision for me and it was pretty tough to leave the Demons," Bedford said. "I had been there for four seasons and I have got great mates and made great relationships with the entire coaching staff as well. "It was a pretty tough decision but ultimately I think the move to GWS will be good for me and hopefully kick-start my career a bit more. "We had some big chats throughout the year (to stay at Melbourne) and I think they were pretty keen (for Bedford to stay). "But I think the decision to go to GWS was just more about kick-starting my career and getting the most out of myself in the AFL."

Pies will have to accept pick 27. Dees must simply hold the line. I agree with earlier poster… We can do without Grundy, they can't do with his salary on the books.

I actually agree with Matt Rendell. That’s a worry in itself. He says now the Pies are trying to lock in their “ins”, they must deal out Grundy Rendell says that Dees hold the cards….“they’ve (Dees) got that pick 27, apparently they’re not relenting on that it’s 27 or nothing”. Yes I agree. probably be pick 13, F1, F2 (freo) for Jackson, F3 (essendon). needed for a top 6-7 pick at very least as well as Freo future 1st … dockers were poor in not trading up But imv I think we’re getting screwed for a Ruck/mid/fwd, 21yo, Generational player, rising star winner and premiership player.
Lloyd is only saying what’s been on Demonland for past 3-4 years. Captain Obvious at work !!! I do agree that it’s a free swing for the Dons. A future 3rd round pick which is usually in the 40s is a free swing for a player like the Weid. Definitely be a handy addition and at a potential pick 30-40, he presents as a good option. Not sure we are going to get a pick in the 2nd round as I think pick 27 will go to the Pies for Grundy.
So is the “Josh Bruce - Adam Tomlinson” trade deal just smoke? Hope it’s just that and fades away. As most know, I don’t rate Josh Bruce as a good addition.
So much potential. But Sam never quite showed the consistency to keep his place. 2018 finals was the taste of what we wanted to see. But he was too physically pushed aside or got under the marking contest. In the end, a Future 3rd pick is like a side of French fries Honestly could not meet a nicer guy than Sam. He was very good at social events and with my kids. Wish him the best. Ben Gibson is going to be gutted.
