  1. you boys ever heard of a chainsaw?
  2. Can we just sign Lachie Hunter and be done with it?
  3. My money would be on Hurley being involved in a deal to get Josh Dunkley to the Dons given the doggies have been keen on Hurley a few times
  4. They did have a pretty serious crack at Daniel Tahlia as well so those two clearly aren't in their plans moving forward.
  5. I heard a whisper that the Bombers are very keen on Tmac and that's where he's likely to land. not sure if that's been posted on here but the whisper was that he's had several chats with Rutten and they're keen on him at FB

Wouldn't be surprised if he landed at the Bombers. i don't mind the Richo GM of footy idea. certainly got the experience.
  7. Is it actually confirmed that Essendon have made an offer to BB or is it demonland confirmed?
  8. Ted Lasso replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd be absolutely staggered if that's the case and Mahoney wasn't just removed totally. not doubting your intel but it sounds like if that were the case, Alan RIchardson would be the GM of footy, and Mahoney would be in a new undefined role. Personally i don't mind it but i can't see Mahoney being kept on, if not in his current position.

Agree completely mate, Sign Brown, get someone in who can play wing and then shift focus to retaining the young core we've built.
  10. If we're not all over Menegola there is something wrong.

FFS. who cares if he's right or wrong, if you're going on a fan forum and not taking everything you read with a grain of salt, you're asking for it. To be fair to @Dr evil I appreciate that he's at least not taking this personally, some posters would definitely have had a tantrum over this.
  12. I would love to see him coach the MFC. if it were my call he'd be our coach for next season. to take two teams with a history of mediocrity in the Saints and Dockers to Grand finals and regular finals is no mean feat
  13. Ross Lyon i can't imagine coaching again unless it was a team on the cusp of finals/Success. if we give Goodwin the flick in 2021 you'd have to think that'd be more appealing to him than the North job right now.
  14. It amazes me that Ben Brown who's stats are as good or better than Jeremy Camerons over a period of time could somehow be an option for pick 23. Would love him at the Dees but it does feel like there is something there that isn't common knowledge

I think Mitch really only said Geelong were in play in the sense that it's so close to the period opening and no one knows what he's doing. a 3 year deal from a finals contended for a 31 year old, and an assistant coach he is by reports to coming across as well has to give us a pretty big chance of landing him. so still backing Smith to come to the Dees but who knows. don't get why he hasn't declared. Would love to see @Dr evil post something that isn't just common knowledge that he's taken slightly further and claimed it as inside info, no idea if he's legit or not but would love to see who these mystery two players are so we can actually judge the intel.
  16. No clue how they'd get it done or anything but yes. a first rounder seems about right and he'd certainly improve the team
  17. No idea if these are two of the guys Dr EvIl is talking about but a mate told me today that we're interested in Ed Richards and Jack Billings. No idea what that means in terms of likelyhood of getting them, but apparently they're two players we'd like to get across if we can.

Oh right! sorry ET! didn't read it properly. yes you're absolutely correct. we're not getting near pick 9 unless we offer up our 2021 first round pick.
  19. Ted Lasso replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
what you're talking about though is a 2021 first, for a 2020 first, and 2 players they've identified and shown interest with as steak knives. it's a good deal for the Giants. if we have the same finish next year, they get pick 9 back, and Preuss and McDonald for nothing. if we improve slightly it's 2 players they want, for shuffling the pick back 2-3 spots.
  20. Ted Lasso replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Reckon you're spot on mate, 23 for Brown and Preuss and our 2021 first round pick, for the compensation pick for Williams #9 Might need other pieces around that but that'll be the idea Aiming to bring in Smith, Brown, McRae and Hind
  21. Ted Lasso replied to picket fence's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Hannan and Oscar were both on reasonable coin i believe so both leaving would take a bit of pressure off things, Tmac is the big one, he's on A grader $$ i reckon if the Giants were willing to take on his salary we'd ask for very little in a trade.
  22. Ted Lasso replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
3 years is bold, but he was at Footscray before coming to the Dees so the Dogs insiders would know plenty about him. Hard to see him being any more regular in their best 22 than he is in ours.
  23. Ted Lasso replied to Lord Nev's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I mean, i just see 9th as a massive failure for a list that in 2018 had experienced year on year improvement and made a prelim, to then get an injury free run and still not make finals is an unmitigated disaster. 1-2 players crediting Goodwin with improved seasons is great, but our overall performance cannot by anyone connected to reality, be considered anything other than a failure and a significant amount of that comes back on the coach.
  24. There is the slim possibility that we sign Ben Brown, and then Tmac re-discovers his 2018 orm and we suddenly have a great forward 2 punch combo.
  25. We made a huge mistake in backing in Weid and Tmac when Hogan left. didn't understand the referred pressure that would be on them to back up what really was some good form. I think we see this as a chance to undo that mistake. I also think we're at risk of putting to much pressure on Jackson, yes he's very talented, but to put all your bets on him being the second forward target at AFL level for a full season in a team that should be aiming to be top 6 is a huge ask for a very raw second year player. Brown totally removes that pressure off him. I don't expect Jackson to play every game in the 1's next year, he's going to take time to develop. Brown and Weideman i'm confident can work together.
