  1. any other intel on who we might be after?
  2. Here's the thing with the Adam Treloar stuff. i understand the media is running with it's all about Money stuff. but if he was really determined to stay at the Pies, he could offer to take a pay cut. this is clearly about other things
  3. Josh Dunkley is as straight laced as a person can get i can think and it's pretty well known he was dissapointed with the Lachie Hunter stuff, so you may well be right that there is a group there that rubs him the wrong way a bit. BUT I think fundementally he's leaving because Essendon are offering him ALOT of money.
  4. My best guess is 26 on it's own, or 31 and 50.. but it's hard to tell. but that potentially does leave us with 31, 33 and 43 which could be traded for a higher pick,
  5. Good deal for both sides. genuine win-win
  6. I think it's theoretically possible, but as you suggest you'd need a good reason. i think there would be a good chance the AFL would feel it wasn't needed to get the deal done. I suppose if we got a future second for Preuss we could theoretically do it?
  7. I believe we can apply for an exemption from the AFL though? i may be wrong but i believe we can
  8. My guess is the "Interest" from Essendon was just a ploy to get a better deal on Wright. i think given there is 52 hours left and he doesn't have an obvious home, he's now pretty likely to stay on.
  9. Future first and pick 50 - North for Ben Brown and pick 25 then flick some of those second rounders to clubs for first rounders if they need points. if we could get Ben Brown and a couple of decent picks that's a good result.
  10. Not sure why he's on the table mate, the Swans fans i know are shocked, they rate him as one of their best young talents. Happy to flick one of our second rounders up there to grab him.
  11. George Hewitt is on the trade table. worth a look?
  12. I suspect the other 2 picks will be bundled up and offered to the dogs for their first rounder as well. so potentially 26 and 43
  13. Does make you wonder if we've asked for Polec to be included? like 26 & 33 for Brown and Polec? i mean that'd be an option if we were confident the Tmac deal would get done
  14. if it's picks 26 and 33 i'd be expecting a pick back with Brown.
  15. as would i, but they can blame their clubs horrible handling of the situation for the reduced trade value.
  16. I'd be willing to bet that pick 33 will get the deal done for Ben Brown.
  17. The pies signing Grundy long term makes sense because they were going to struggle to keep him otherwise, though i agree 7 years is excessive. in terms of Treloar, it's a big contract, and they'd know they're going to have to pay some of that salary moving forward. but i think there are teams that would take a punt on him at 700k. i don't agree that Treloars contract was as irresponsible as some are saying though. the reality is that if the trade scenario never came up, noone would be talking about it. and it's been widely understood he's been on big money for a long time.
  18. the pies may well pay 200k of that money but they'd certainly prefer 200k to 900K and the dogs may view a 700k adam treloar as a bit of a bargain
  19. I think you're putting too much trust in the media. the Pies wouldn't have offered De Goey the deal they did if they didn't have money. i think they're trying to trade Treloar out of a combination of - thinking he'll struggle away from his partner and the feeling that 900k could be better spent on other players
  20. I definitely think that could be part of the strategy from their end. they'd be obviously keen on giving up less from a trade perspective but the Pies would be looking at a complete salary dump and the real value for the Hawks in getting the Pies to pay some of the salary in question. Will be very interesting to see what unfolds. i imagine we'd be a chance to get in on the Phillips chase if the price point was suitable for us.
  21. I don't know mate, i've got some pretty good connections to the Pies (I know... i know...) and i can tell you for a fact they're not actually this sloppy. there is a lot more to this story. i don't know for sure if we're into him or not, i'd be genuinely shocked for a bunch of reasons if we were. but i think you're running with the media narrative a little bit, and allowing yourself just enough doubt to back away if it doesn't pan out. Treloar has 3 possible destinations as i see it, just logistically, Essendon, Hawthorn and the dogs. i think the dogs are the most suitable because a trade is doable, they've got the cap space and he wants to go to a finals contender. we can't do a deal without it being a bargain basement type deal, we don't have the cap space and who knows if we're a finals contender?
  22. I'm with @Lord Nev on this one. the Pies are far too smart an organisation to put themselves in the position you're assuming, they'll have a plan in place if a deal can't be done, and more than likely they'll get a deal sorted out that's a win-win. i strongly suggest it'll be the dogs for a number of reasons, but i can't really imagine a way we'd go there
  23. Treloar is going to the bulldogs. time to move on from that fantasy guys. he'll be involved in the Dunkley deal.
  24. I think it's a bit irresponsible for the AFL to allow the trade/free agency period to begin without giving the clubs an answer on salary cap/list sizes for 2021. clubs are effectively working around their best guesses and with a blindfold on.
  25. the spoof page is hilarious! i've been banned but i can still view posts, just not comment. the young man who runs it wasn't happy with my suggestion that Christian Petracca was a better player than jack Billings.
