  1. He was probably our tallest forward target that's not injured by the end of the game
  2. Don't agree at all, Rd 1 last year Port Belted us Saints have been outplayed in both their games this year, finishing and injuries cost us and i felt the Giants were the better of the two teams last night too, Jeremy Cameron kicking 1 goal 3 doesn't help
  3. I am really interested to see how our midfield stacks up.
  4. I agree, Nick Maxwell is a perfect example, mentally very good, useless player with little talent. Jack Viney, all the talent in the world, but the way he attacks the ball you wonder if there is anything between his ears sometimes
  5. Last weekend Toumpas had 17 disposals, 3 tackles and a goal playing as a forward, that's a solid game, unfortunately your head is to far up a certain part of your body to notice anything but how well old mate at Port is going. It's amazing how quickly people jump on young players who aren't getting BOG's right away, alot of reality checks required around demonland i think.
  6. if you are willing to write off a bloke after 1 season then you clearly have no idea about the sport, tell ya a couple of blokes who didn't set the world on fire in their first year? Jobe Watson, Gary Ablett, Marc Murphy, Dane Swan just because Wines is playing well doesn't mean Toumpas won't become every bit the player the club believes he will be.
  7. we get it, you don't rate Toumpas.. but he plays for MFC, Wines does not..
  8. I tend to agree, but you can really tell the Swans miss Mumford, but a forward line of Franklin and TIppett and the mids they have they will be tough to beat when they are on. watching the game tonight and how impressive is Brodie Grundy! i wish we saved pick 13 from the Hogan trade and drafted him! he is going to be the best ruckman in the comp very shortly.
  9. I tend to agree, i reckon the deal was 3,13, 72 for Hogan, Barry, 20, 54, not bidding on Viney and letting Toumpas slip to 4, it was well known that Toumpas was considered the second best prospect behind Whitfield but suddenly dropped the week of the draft
  10. Tell ya what, Port look top 4 material to me the four most impressive teams i have seen so far are Hawthorn, Fremantle, West coast and Port
  11. Nathan Jones, Bernie Vince and Jack Watts are all on current form in the elite category imo if Vince kicked straight he could have had 30 touches and 4 goals, imagine what the Crows would have thought about that. Jack watts 27 touches at 96% is insane, i never thought he was capable of that most players on our list have improved their game by 30-40 % in one pre season under Roos, pretty amazing when you think about it
  12. I feel as though the club should be de-registered or something, i can't think of a worse betrayal of trust in sporting history
  13. the only 100% certainty is that the estimated recovery times are going to be wrong.
  14. Thanks Saty for another great report, i think i speak for everyone when i say we really appreciate your effort in posting these every week!
  15. Terrible decision by the Essendon Football club to retain Hird, while he is there they won't be able to move forward from this saga, and as far as i am concerned anyone involved should be banned for life from the AFL, might be a few lawsuits in a few years time if some side effects start showing up on the players.
  16. Really feel for the kid, this sort of injury right before his AFL debut would be devastating, i have no doubt he is 100% more frustrated than us and that's saying something
  17. Don't get ahead of yourself, he will pull a hammy walking up to tell Roosy he is right to go
  18. Anyone reckon the reporters are scared to ask Mick Malthouse questions at pressers? he is a great coach but a very intense person
  19. I am still really confident Hogan and Toumpas will both be guns
  20. the only way would be to not get Hogan and hope GWS didn't bid on Viney or take Toumpas or Wines
  21. i don't see the value in playing Byrnes, we have alternatives that offer just as much and still have the potential to come on and be damaging players in the future, Byrnes offers experience and not much else, would have been better off with brad Green still hanging out in a forward pocket
