Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Ted Lasso replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's what im thinking BB, surely ASADA would have a very clear understanding of what they can do and would be extremely careful not to let a fish this big get off the hook so to speak I find it hard to believe conducting a joint investigation with the relevant sporting organisation would be outside the powers of ASADA, I think alot of it is that the bombers are simply desperate,to the point where their innocence and integrity is no longer a priority -

BD, are there clear guidelines as to what point the investigation becomes unlawful -
The players are not immune from critics, we are a bottom 4 side for a reason
-
It really doesnt look a great draft in my opinion but the key position players at the top end add trade value to the picks
-
To be fair saty, most on here are yearly members who have invested money in the club and we have been terrible for 8 years in a row, It's not surprising patience is thin, especially when we are costing ourselves with silly skill errors

Beezelbub little reminds me of a little nerdy kid paying off all his friends to start rumours and try and create public support Behind the bias and uneducated smokescreen you have a club that is in so much trouble it can't even respond to a show cause notice The other board members must be very nervous -
But HH that is indirectly what you are suggesting, If we trade we get proven good players If we draft we get potential good players I think we need to top off the talent we have with a couple of classy players Offer prestia 5 years at 750,000 to come home to the club he and his family supported growing up Offer dangerfield 6 years at 1.2 million, with Clark's salary gone and frawley probably leaving we have huge cap room Trade pick 3& toumpas for danger Trade pick 4 for prestia Trade pick 21 and blease for tommlinson

I wonder if Robinson could give evidence to gain a lighter sentance knowing ASADA only need to prove its more likely they did take banned substances? Reimers is another wild card to this situation, the doggies power and Dockers might consider telling their players to fess up too, 6 months out is far better than 2 years and likely career over for most of these boys -
I think Dean Kent could become a genuine superstar, he has a lot of tools
-
Of course you wouldn't want to lose him, but if it came down to having no way to keep him we would need to look at the best deal possible
-
Hyperthetically, what's Tommy Macs trade value? if he decides he wants a trade, would a 21 year old quality key position prospect get us a first round pick?

Swan with Pendelburys finishing?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
Ted Lasso replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can I ask picket, is there a reason you don't rate Stretch apart from his build? he has pace, skill, smarts, passion for the mfc, breaks lines, makes good decisions, can win his own ball, does the team thing he is exactly what the doctor ordered in my opinion but you seem to dismiss his strengths because he isn't a solid inside midfield, I understand your view that a team needs to win the ball on the frontlines, but they also need a bloke for the inside mid to get the ball out to who can run, create, do damage. -
I can kind of see Dangerfield like aspects to his game, hard as nails, explosive pace, I reckon he is going to be a genuine game breaker, would like to see us try and lock him away for a few years.
-
I felt at the time the right decision was made, I was slightly surprised however, he's having a great year but as we know ruckman take time, I think this fact is a huge reason as to why Spencer has been signed on for another two years, food for thought Stephan Martin vs Cam Pederson?
-
The rules are changed far too often and it must make it so difficult for the umpires to keep up, having said that there is no excuse for not smarting up, how long has Joel Selwood gotten away with dropping down to get the high tackle? it needs to be simplified so if the game is on the line they don't either make a bad decision or make a bad decision by not making a brave decision, it's such a fine line.

I don't think the hit to the % will concern the coaches, we have pushed port once, played well against the cats in the NAB cup, I expect we will compete hard against them, ground can be made on a weekly basis

Players to target at the end of the year
Ted Lasso replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon it's time we target a couple of huge signings if we lose Frawley we could have picks 3&4 in the draft offer a juicy contract to Dion Prestia, yes it's unlikely he will even consider leaving the suns, but I am pretty sure he is OOC at the end of next year, and would become a free agent, he's grown up a demon supporter, comes from a family of demon supporters, 5 years and good dollars to come home and play for the club he loves is not something to scoff at. Dylan Shiel to me looks a bloke who is ready to start winning games off his own boot, we had a massive dig last year and very nearly got our man, I am very confident we will again and will be right in the mix to land Dylan Patrick Dangerfield, Unlikely but a legitimate Superstar, Victorian lad, would a massive pay day and good contract get his attention? we could offer the crows a deal such as pick 4 and Jimmy Toumpas to land a fully fledged superstar Jeremy Cameron, All Australian at 19, OOC next season, worth a massive offer in my opinion, could form a potential premiership combination up front with Jesse Hogan and be a key pillar in our long term planning, Would pick 3 and 4 land us, Cameron and Shiel? Adam Tommlinson, might amuse some people on here but I think he's a super talent, I seem him emerging in the way Lynch at the suns has, has an amazing work rate, good hands and I think he could become a very difficult forward to stop for opposition teams in the future, could probably land him for less than a first round pick also I reckon if we can net a couple of the above we will be in a great position going forward I'd like to see the side line up in 2015 as Grimes Dunn Garland Vince Mcdonald Jetta Shiel N.Jones Watts Howe Hogan Tommlinson Petracca Dawes JKH Jamar Trengove Tyson Viney, Toumpas, Cross Salem -
Roosy has set a great foundation for the future, we have a game style, we are starting to develop a culture where you have to dominate the VFL consistently to get a look in, young draftees aren't expected to dominate games, they develop in the seconds, hard work and team first is what we are about, I think we have made huge gains off field we haven't lost by 100 points all year, that in itself says a fair bit, I think our two biggest enemies are * Our errors in skills and decision making, especially out of the back line * Our lack of class and polish, we have some good players, but i'd still argue at least half our list is VFL standard, while that's the case we will be a bottom 4 side. Next year there will be a big change over to our list again, a lot of blokes moved on, a lot on thin ice and some good fresh players bought in. It's important to remember that this was always going to be a multi season prospect, it wasn't going to happen overnight, we are coming from in my opinion very close to the worst team of all time.
-
I'd rather trade both picks, Petracca is the only mid that interests me
-
Dangerfield and shiel would improve our side massively, we have had a lot of close losses those two plus Hogan probably turns them to wind and has us in the top 8 mix
-
I reckon he might need a change of scenery anyways, it's been a tough start for jimmy Jake covers the loss of chip Dangerfield gives us that superstar for our kids to follow and means Jones and Tyson won't cop tags Sheil looks a ready made gun to me And I really rate colyer as a player, good hardness and real pace
