Why did we fade out in games?
I'd say it's a combination of a few things Winning the flag leaving the players slightly less hungry, complacent, thinking it'd just happen fatigue of a really long season in 2021 to a mostly very young list banged up injury wise lack of conversion leaving the team deflated, goals give the team a chance to rest and re-set. defending as much as we've had to at times is hard work tweaks to the game style not working

In Season - Loading/Periodisation: Put your conjecture here.
I agree with your assessment that a lot of our mistakes around games style have been coaching-related - too conservative with ball movement, forward pressure dropped away completely, lack of anything resembling functionality in the forward line, I think the simple reality is that the impact of training load management would vary so much from player to player that it's impossible to understand how it has impacted performance and results for individuals and the team without being inside the club. One of my observations of this thread has been a fundamental misunderstanding of what loading is though, which seems to be common and present on both sides of the debate, with the exception of a small handful of posters

Farewell Luke Jackson
He's 24

Farewell Luke Jackson
I think my take on this would be that it's up to Fremantle to work it out, but 2 x first rounders for 22 is a good start, i'd be spitting chips if we gave up a first rounder for Grundy given they're pushing him out the door

Farewell Luke Jackson
I'd be telling fremantle to get that pick 10 or 11 or whatever it is off the dogs in the Lobb trade and give us 11, 13 and Meek 2 first rounders and a young developing ruckman is fair for a bloke they think is work 7 mil

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
JVR needs to start forward in the AFL side round 1 next year, ideally along with Harry Petty and Tom McDonald

Positives from 2022
Finished second lead in every single one of our losses 4 x All Australian players re-signing Simon Goodwin, Angus Brayshaw, Clayton Oliver long term no long term injuries expected to impact 2023 a very clear understanding of where we need to improve to lift the cup again Angus Brayshaw break out year Record membership 66,000 assuming another strong profit this season

Farewell Brodie Grundy
For the record my preference would be to back Sam Weideman in if Jackson leaves, i think he's got the ability to be a good forward, but also is quite competent in the ruck as he has demonstrated when he's had opportunities. I'd use the salary cap space saved to pursue a Key forward of quality.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Easy to forget LJ put together one of the most significant patches of football in the history of the club to turn the 2021 grand final. the reasons to target Jackson from Freo's perspective are as obvious as the reasons we're so desperate to keep him.

CHANGES: SF vs Brisbane
i'd be tempted to go a bit smaller and have Brown as the only tall down there, would encourage them not to bomb it and give us more run and forward half pressure. Out: Melksham In: Chandler

Hayden Young
With the Luke Jackson trade can we just demand Hayden Young or PSD? the kid is a superstar

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
the umpires got sucked into buddy diving because it's buddy - that killed momentum. Petraccas injury and the move of tagging brayshaw that followed 3 goals from 50's not sending Harmes to luke parker i think was a missed trick. missed shot opportunities, we had our chances in the 3rd and 4th but some bad skill errors cost us

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
If you look at Richmonds 3 flags, Richmond won one of them after losing a QF and another from outside top 4 dogs in 2016 from outside top 4 2019 Giants made the grand final from outside top 4 2021 dogs we play a team we're all over at the G next weekend and then if we win that we play either Geelong or the Pies, we're capable of beating both this season is so far from over, all the great dynasties in recent memories have involved qualifying finals losses and not having it all go your way. we will be fine

Demons won't win the flag in 2022.
Sydney are flag favourites for mine. they would have beaten Geelong tonight.

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
I've seen several posters deny loading takes place, and almost none who seem to grasp what loading actually is. my inbox is open if you'd like to discuss this further, i'd rather not derail the thread

CHANGES: SF vs Brisbane
Back them in. Unless Harmes is suspended which i don't think he will be. just show a video of Patty cripps

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Anyone who doesn't acknowledge the reality of loading in professional sport simply doesn't know what they're talking about. anyway back to the topic.

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Beaten by a better team, no need to panic We were a little bit off outside of a couple of patches, very confident we will bounce back against the Lions next week lots of teams who win multiple flags have lost qualifying finals
-
Clarkson was available.
Seriously can we just acknowledge Sydney are a really good team, in red hot form who match up really well on us. they would have beaten anyone tonight, we were off a little bit but the Swans were fantastic

Farewell Luke Jackson
I've not heard anything to suggest he's changed his mind, but god i hope it's right. imagine the boost the boys would get heading into a big final
