Its great to hear stories from the more senior members of the forum about Bob Johnson. Thanks to all who are sharing them. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could somehow summon the spirit of the Demon teams and players from that successful era I want to ask the folks who watched him play back in thse glor years - which modern day player (say last 25 years) would he best compared to in terms of style and ability?

May or may not, but when I look at the list he and Matt Jones are the only players I truly shudder at. Rewind to 3 years ago.... there were probably 15 players we shuddered at. The list turnover and replenishment has been huge.

Fellas, what do you think Ben Cousins looked like when he walked into the door at the Eagles as a fresh faced draftee? I use that comparison as their game styles are similair and they are around the same size (Parish is a few cms taller). They are also natural footballers Parish has the right kind of frame to stack on muscle.. He is not wirey or permanently thin like a Cale Morton for example.

I think youll find theres just a little bit of a difference there Firstly, Tassie is a little closer to Melbourne than the Northern territory Secondly, the climate is just a little different between the two places

No need to write off a 20 year old who is entering just his third preseason and has played just 22 games Hes a good player and makes smart decisions with the footy and is a nice kick Remember just about everyone had thrown Nev Jetta on the trash heap too. He was rookie listed, and now hes our best small defender and one of the best lock down defenders in the AFL
