Farewell Luke Jackson
Not feeling great about this. A [censored] end to the season and a [censored] trade period. Iβd like not to think about them until February.

Jack Gunston
Late to the party but isnβt Gunston a very similar player to Fritsch? Heβs a very good player but I wouldnβt think a Gunston type is at the top of our needs list.

Jordan De Goey
Imagine being paid millions to be an athlete and the one clause is 'don't be a [censored]' and you're not willing to commit to that π

Daisy on Indigenous round and the minute's silence for the Queen
The politics of politeness & respectability are always a good way to shut down conversations people donβt want to have. βNow isnβt the timeβ or βitβs disrespectful to discuss that right nowβ are all great ways to shut down debate.

It's the Culture
Culture isnβt static, it has its ups and downs. It doesnβt magically stay good, or bad, without constant work. The response to this seasons results, the upcoming pre-season & 2023 are the real indicators of culture. This is their big test.

POSTGAME: SF vs Brisbane
Thereβs a million things that went wrong but hereβs my top 3 To kick 11.13 and at least two out in the full is infruiating To give away stupid goals in the final minutes of quarters is enraging To sit there at 3/4 and KNOW they have nothing in the tank & Brisbane will run over us is depressing I donβt enjoy going to watch them

POSTGAME: SF vs Brisbane
They probably wonβt do one - just like the 2018 prelim π
-
POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
After reading this thread the main theory seems to be we lost because the Mebourne fans didnβt make enough noise. Not that Sydneyβs pressure strangled us, not that they were cleaner, not that our bottom tier players were unsighted, but that the supporters didnβt make enough noise π€¦ββοΈ

Fair to say we did well out of this trade

Most well known Dees supporter amoungst the supporter base?
Thereβs a legend who sits in the AFL members. Heβs got a shaved head, strong moustache, uggs & a blue Bonds singlet and there each week. Love his work.

My 3 word player analysis V Brisbane
I love him but have nightmares about his left foot π

Harrison Petty incident
Different take, and this might make me a dinosaur too - tears are often a frustration thing. As in youβre so angry by what has been said and frustrated because you know you canβt respond as youβd like that you end up crying. As in βIβd like to smash Zorko but know itβs the wrong thing & also donβt want to miss finalsβ I thought those were rage tears. Very disappointing to hear Brown suggest Petty might be embarrassed. The AFL types all talk about mental health but seem unable to connect that old fashioned societal expectations of masculinity really hurt men & crush their ability to share their feelings. I love that our players so strongly care & support each other, theyβre amazing examples to young ppl, especially men, about how you love your mates.

Harrison Petty incident
If anything I just thought they were all trying to avoid Roaming [censored].

Clarko to Norf
No. No logical reasoning for this other than I couldnβt stand him as a player π

Veil of Negativity
Halfway along Brunton Ave it was confirmed weβd won & that Iβm one of the worst supporters ever.

Veil of Negativity
I recently saw a meme that said 'People really pick a sports team when they're a kid and let them annoy them the rest of their lives' We're all in that boat, some of us are just more measured than others π I'm definitely in the crazy half of the supporter boat. I was so flithy with our performance on Saturday at one stage had to tell myself "you can't control what these clowns do on field". And I'm outing myself as one of those who cracked it and walked out with 2 minutes left. I'd love to be one of those 'support the boys 100%' types but like all of us MFCSS sufferers, I've been hurt too many times to be optimistic. But I fully own my craziness π

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Same. I was so frustrated with how weβd played & just couldnβt handle the thought of watching happy Carlton supporters. Footy karma got me though π
