Respect for Brown, a good honest footballer.

That result leaves a bad taste
  3. The politics of politeness & respectability are always a good way to shut down conversations people donā€™t want to have. ā€˜Now isnā€™t the timeā€™ or ā€˜itā€™s disrespectful to discuss that right nowā€™ are all great ways to shut down debate.

Culture isnā€™t static, it has its ups and downs. It doesnā€™t magically stay good, or bad, without constant work. The response to this seasons results, the upcoming pre-season & 2023 are the real indicators of culture. This is their big test.
  5. Thereā€™s a million things that went wrong but hereā€™s my top 3 To kick 11.13 and at least two out in the full is infruiating To give away stupid goals in the final minutes of quarters is enraging To sit there at 3/4 and KNOW they have nothing in the tank & Brisbane will run over us is depressing I donā€™t enjoy going to watch them
  6. They probably wonā€™t do one - just like the 2018 prelim šŸ˜‚

After reading this thread the main theory seems to be we lost because the Mebourne fans didnā€™t make enough noise. Not that Sydneyā€™s pressure strangled us, not that they were cleaner, not that our bottom tier players were unsighted, but that the supporters didnā€™t make enough noise šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø
  8. Mitch Hannan is a butter knife at best šŸ˜†
  9. Fair to say we did well out of this trade
  10. Thereā€™s a legend who sits in the AFL members. Heā€™s got a shaved head, strong moustache, uggs & a blue Bonds singlet and there each week. Love his work.
  11. I love him but have nightmares about his left foot šŸ˜‚
  12. Different take, and this might make me a dinosaur too - tears are often a frustration thing. As in youā€™re so angry by what has been said and frustrated because you know you canā€™t respond as youā€™d like that you end up crying. As in ā€˜Iā€™d like to smash Zorko but know itā€™s the wrong thing & also donā€™t want to miss finalsā€™ I thought those were rage tears. Very disappointing to hear Brown suggest Petty might be embarrassed. The AFL types all talk about mental health but seem unable to connect that old fashioned societal expectations of masculinity really hurt men & crush their ability to share their feelings. I love that our players so strongly care & support each other, theyā€™re amazing examples to young ppl, especially men, about how you love your mates.
  13. If anything I just thought they were all trying to avoid Roaming [censored].

No. No logical reasoning for this other than I couldnā€™t stand him as a player šŸ˜‚

Halfway along Brunton Ave it was confirmed weā€™d won & that Iā€™m one of the worst supporters ever.

I recently saw a meme that said 'People really pick a sports team when they're a kid and let them annoy them the rest of their lives' We're all in that boat, some of us are just more measured than others šŸ˜„ I'm definitely in the crazy half of the supporter boat. I was so flithy with our performance on Saturday at one stage had to tell myself "you can't control what these clowns do on field". And I'm outing myself as one of those who cracked it and walked out with 2 minutes left. I'd love to be one of those 'support the boys 100%' types but like all of us MFCSS sufferers, I've been hurt too many times to be optimistic. But I fully own my craziness šŸ˜†
  17. Same. I was so frustrated with how weā€™d played & just couldnā€™t handle the thought of watching happy Carlton supporters. Footy karma got me though šŸ˜‚
  18. Since we're talking about it, what about the captain after next? Petty?

Oh god no, I hate watching on TV, nothing worse. I feel much more in control at the ground, you can see the mistakes coming šŸ˜„

I've already had a sulk about the AFL Members being sold out. Could only get seats on level 4 šŸ¤¢
  21. Why does everyone keep using logic on me? I want to be able to hate Geelong in demented peace šŸ˜
  22. Very good point...but it's a rational one, and I'm not rational when it comes to MFC šŸ˜„
  23. That the Away fans are allocated such a tiny amount of seats is extremely annoying as it's totally counter to the argument that the 'big' clubs shouldn't play down there because the ground doesnt have the capacity. There will never be enough seats for the Away side so it doesnt matter if Collingwood or North Melbourne play down there. And yet it's always the same group of Melbourne-based clubs who are forced to play there.
  24. At half time a bloke four rows in front of me power spewed like Iā€™ve never seen. It was a preview of the result šŸ˜‚ Thought Gawn had a very average night & Jackson a shocker. Which equaled English dominating. The short break off the Alice trip didnā€™t help, in the last we struggled to get enough men to match them around the contests, felt like they always had one extra. Our second tier blokes were not good. Not sure why weā€™re complaining about the umpires, I was sitting on the Footscray wing & according to those specimens they were being robbed šŸ˜‚
  25. The problem is that 7ā€™s marquee caller, Brian Taylor, is awful. He doesnā€™t know the rules or the players. And he ainā€™t half as smart or as funny as he thinks he is.
