  1. Stats can be deceiving, of the 17.3kms I think you will find the majority of these were hus runup when kicking for goal.
  2. I received an offer for $15 off Kayo Basic subscription, which is currently $30 and looks like it will increase to $35 in February (so $20 per month after the Feb increase). According to Kayo this offer is only for returning customers. Personally I don't care about 4K but would instead rather Kayo get their HD image quality and buffering to an acceptable level. Last year I cancelled Kayo when I saw how much better the 7HD broadcast quality was compared to Kayo not to mention the buffering that would at times make Kayo unwatchable.
  3. Isn't trackless tram just a fancy word for bus?
  4. You're in your 50's and have never been in a committed relationship but are desperate to meet someone and and build a life together. Every prospective partner in the past 20 years has turned you down after your high school sweetheart Amy Parks wanted a relationship but you were afraid to commit and she moved on with your nemesis. Your mum has now arranged for you to meet a girl through a family connection through lack of any other options but you have very little in common and have started to work out what you have to offer her and her family before you actually meet each other.
  5. Should we write a letter to the club asking if they have thought of this? A few of us could offer to mentor the players, maybe at the same time as some goal kicking practice with them and offer tips to improve their routine and ball drop.
  6. No, they go off points and then sort the ladder alphabetically.
  7. Governments have an obligation to fund sporting clubs equitably and we should hold State and Local Government to this given we have funded half of the feasibility study. If the Government is broke then sell us the land at market value less what they would otherwise contribute.
  8. If only Goody saved someone from a fire, that would really stick it up to Kane Cornes.
  9. Tomorrow we will find out that the man who dislocated his shoulder jumping into the water was none other than Joel Smith.
  10. I think we've had a very shrewd trade period where we've managed to get back what we paid in picks for Grundy, brought in a maturing Forward/Ruck in Fullarton, traded out some midfield depth (Harmes, Jordan) in exchange for some forward half class (McAdams, Billings), have picks 6, 11 and 42 to bring in either Reid or a couple of elite youngsters and freed up probably $1.5m over the next 3 years with the ins and outs. This puts us in good stead to offer a long term deal to Petty or attract a key position player via free agency next year.
  11. They haven't made the connection between their weird camp and how it made the Tex a better husband, father and lover, and players wanting to 'go home'.
  12. What if Clayton Oliver offers to live with the Petty's when this happens?
  13. West Coast need 3 first round picks more than they need Curtin or Reid. They need a core group of young talent developing together to rebuild their list around, similar to when we were rubbish and split pick 2 for Tyson and Salem.
  14. I think that WCE would want Darling's salary of $800k x 2 years off their books and so would view trading him favourably as a salary dump.
  15. Hemingway I don't think Adelaide thought we would agree to trade Petty but in asking for him in exchange for McAdams and outlining they are prepared to offer him a long term contract on big $ opens up the conversation for a trade next year or free agency in 2025. They can now watch his 2024 campaign closely and see how he looks at the end of next year.
  16. It's near impossible to attract mature age players out of Geelong. Studies have concluded that commuting to Melbourne from Geelong involves driving into the sum both directions.
  17. A 4 - 5 year deal at $650-700k.would be fair value IMO. He is an excellent key defender entering his prime over the next few years and has demonstrated he is very capable as a key forward. Look at what Essendon paid for Ben McKay. The $800k that Adelaide are supposedly offering includes a premium to entice him out of an environment he is happy in - Roos once said it costs 20% more to trade in a player than to retain one. On a side note I like that Tom Morris is reporting Petty's lure to his boarding school 'home'. The whole idea of boarding school is somewere to stay while you study away from home. As some have pointed out here he is not from Adelaide but South Australia.
  18. Looks lively. Based on this footage he doesn't miss a single goal as well!!
  19. Haynes would be great, would free up Riv to play a bit more midfield.
  20. What player do we get from GWS attached to their salary dump?
  21. I disagree, if the Tribunal suspended Maynard then the suspension would have been squashed on appeal. The AFL had already tested this re the Van Rooyen spoil, which while different in that it was a spoil in a contest compared to a smother, is the same principal that players are allowed to spoil, smother, etc and these actions are not deemed rough conduct. There is a specific rough conduct provision for bumps and tackles but not for spoils, smothers, kicks etc. Maynard argued that he left the ground for a legitimate spoil, which he is allowed to do, and once in the air the high contact was unavoidable - there was no argument the Tribunal could have made that would be upheld on appeal. I believe the AFL will make a change in the off season where players will have a duty of care towards each other for any action, e.g. if a player leaves the ground to spoil and they collect a player high the AFL will argue that the player chose to leave the ground and bears some responsibility for the outcome. The same as if a player attempts to spoil and collects an opposition player high, such as in Van Rooyen's case.
  22. I don't agree that Collingwood were lucky to win the GF. For two years they have consistently won close games through winning critical contests and plays, or as Goody puts it 'moments'. This year I think there were 5 sides that could genuinely have won it being Collingwood, Brisbane, Melbourne, Carlton and GWS. Many of the games were genuine 50 / 50 matches separated by a couple of missed shots at goal, critical contests, or a bit of luck, and if the finals series were played in a simulation 10 times over each if these 5 teams would probably win at least once. Where it hurts is that we had two chances and despite some excellent football we fell short both times. Losing Melksham on the eve of finals and Brayshaw in the qualifying were costly given their importance to our structure and delivery in our forward half.
  23. I'd rather keep T-Mac. Reportedly his body is feeling good again and when fit and in form he is a very good player. We already have Schache for depth so I don't see why we would want to bring in Lobb.
  24. I especially like it when journo's quote each other as 'sources'. I reckon there would be merit in a blog that scrutinises AFL journo's, kind of like the media watch program.
