  1. Was thinking the same
  2. 2 Episodes in, quite enjoying it. I think if I was a player I would quickly be over the the constant attempts to get fired up. I really don’t get how the 3 pole statue used by gws makes you play footy better, I found it a bit cringeworthy. Eddie Betts is a true champ!
  3. Eddie suggested on footy classified, that the AFLPA were getting 5x the funds that an individual club was getting. I suspect with the cash drying up, as per any business, it will need to look at where it’s money is being spent and this is the start of a power struggle to decide where the cuts are made
  4. That is a fair point. Hypothetically, if he was traded, is the value he would attract going to make us better? Personally I don’t think so. Would I rather Jack or a second rounder in a compromised draft, I’m taking And backing in Jack every day of the week. I don’t think Jack is the problem.
  5. On Viney, You just can’t replace heart and soul players. I don’t think anyone thinks for a second he isn’t busting his guts every time he runs out. It’s very frustrating watching him get caught holding the ball after trying to break tackles. On reflection I wonder if he is going through a transition and trying to get the balance right. After the ā€œred mistā€ bang it on the boot was the in vogue game style, I think Viney is looking to not do that and is finding his feet with the don’t waste the ball game plan. Clarry seems to be using his feet more to explode out of contests to use the ball better, I think we need to give Viney the chance to find the balance of when to bang it forward and when to hold the ball for better options. Id like to see the structure allow someone to be moving to offer Viney some handball options when he’s likely to be tackled. Still a very valuable player in my opinion, we shouldn’t be letting him go anywhere.
  6. Brayshaw said on the Captains run that there is a ligament in his foot that isn’t working creating issues for his other ligaments. He also said he would be back ready for the 1st day of pre-season.
  7. Thanks, the Audio sounds amazing doing it this way, dare I say it sounds like it’s in a high def codec.
  8. Loving the podcast as always. I feel like the Audio quality was much better in this podcast?Did I detect a pre recording of the opening blurb about the social media handles?
  9. Is Kayo an option for you? Or AFL live pass for a game by game option? I feel your pain, I’m not quite sure how I survived before Kayo. I remember having an AFL live subscription watching the games with my family huddled around my iPad.
  10. Rossmillan replied to Elegt's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think it’s supposed to be downfield if the player being pushed in the back has disposed of the ball and clearly some of those downfield frees, were being paid when the player had yet to dispose of the ball
  11. It’s not how many are paid, it’s where and when they are paid. Interesting to see viney and Gawn in top 5 free kicks for. Grundy is on top of the list, why am I not surprised
  12. I just checked, BetEasy is offering me nearly 7x my initial investment, to cash out on petracca now on one of my bets and over 3 times on the other. That must mean he’s still in with a red hot chance. Very tempting to cash out early... I agree it could be Neales
  13. I speak to people in the US, and they wish their govt had invoked similar lockdowns. I think people are ignoring how bad it could get by just opening everything up. I wouldn’t like to be fighting for a ventilator or bed or doctor or nurses attention if the numbers exploded.
  14. Gates open 4:45 for a 5:40 bounce, expecting a small crowd hopefully we can out number the north supporters
  15. Let’s pray that without the home crowd, it evens up. They were disgraceful on Wednesday.
  16. From what I saw live at the Adelaide game, it confirmed what I’ve been seeing on tv. Bennell is afraid or not willing to make contact. I understand that his disposal stands out in our team, but players at AFL level need to be willing to make physical contact when it’s required. In my opinion Bennell does not meet the definition of quality player at the moment. I really hope he can lift in this area, because we know he can be damaging with ball in hand.
  17. Congratulations guys, well done!!!
  18. My wife and I were lucky enough to be at the game. That little man McHenry was running in and hitting Max over 50m off the ball, when he was in the forward line. Was absolutely disgraceful.
  19. Was on in Feb at $101, after the preseason game. Noticed he’s in to $13 now. How many votes is Max going to take off him? For me these two are the standouts, and can’t see too many others pinching the votes. Fingers crossed we can keep winning!!!
  20. Have you seen the crows play this year :.)
  21. Well done guys, enjoyed the interview and your regular analysis. Anyone else think Glen sounded a bit like David Neitz?
  22. Well done guys, enjoying your podcast and this is a great get. An update on the financial position of the club and the impact caused by COVID-19 to club finances would be great. An update on how the 5 Million requested from supporters is going, and the high level split of how it will be used to pay off debt vs strategic plan etc
  23. Please state what lie you think has been told?
  24. I'm happy to be incorrect, but my reading of the financials isn't aligning. Where am I going wrong? Im going from the 2019 financial report which goes up to 31 Oct 2019. I assume the situation hasn't got better from there. My view is that 8 Million is not in the bank, in fact its in negative territory: "Cash at bank and in hand 225,508" but "Bank overdraft(322,944)" "At 31 October 2019, the Club had a $400,000 (FY18: $400,000) overdraft facility with Westpac. At 31 October 2019 the overdraft facility was drawn down to the balance of $322,944 (FY18: undrawn). The overdraft facility will incur an interest rate of 7.69% per annum, with interest charged monthly" I guess you could argue the other items listed as current assets, such as merchandise and food an beverage are "cash in the bank", but I really don't see that as the same thing. There is $1million in financial assets, but it doesn't seem to say what they are. I also disagree with your proposition that we have $8mil in the bank, and the Bentleigh Club as a freehold asset. Im just guessing here, but I suspect that the Bentleigh Club is already included in the assets, titled as Land $8.7 million. When you mention that debt is 2 mil down from eight. Does that include selling the leighoak club for $7mil?
  25. Isn’t the barefoot investor, Scott Pape, an MFC supporter. Maybe we could get him to teach some people about investing and how to demolish debt. I work hard for my money, I feel like these suit wearing guys in charge of club finances, have no appreciation of how to manage money. Carona virus is an aberration, but this is not the first time we have massive debt and the solution isn’t better financial governance, it’s get a handout from the supporters.
