  1. Welcome to the Board FGS Great analysis. Would love to have seen the study move beyond attendance to include TV coverage
  2. 10-1 inside 50's this quarter but they have managed 3 goals in 12 mins so far
  3. "fan activation activities" ....... wow ... wait while I unpack that !!
  4. 3/4 time and it's Casey by 39 Only one goal for the quarter between both teams
  5. Around 20 mins in and either there is not much scoring or Hawks twitter person has gone to find some shade. One goal to Casey at the 11 minute mark and Casey lead by 39 (sorry .. make that 41)
  6. Someone took a strong mark in the forward line and goaled. Hope it was the Weid ! Casey score another goal after the siren and lead by 33 points at half time
  7. Hawks show Dees how to communicate !! http://boxhillhawks.com.au/
  8. Our theme song "melody" is an American song written by George Cohan about the American flag. As you can see the words are almost the same Would be nice if we could have our own song. You're a grand old flag, You're a high-flying flag, And forever in peace may you wave. You're the emblem of the land I love, The home of the free and the brave. Ev'ry heart beats true 'Neath the Red, White and Blue,[N 4] Where there's never a boast or brag. But should auld acquaintance be forgot,[N 5] Keep your eye on the grand old flag. Perhaps we could start with an MFC Song and then when we are ready get rid of the old one. Bit like the Republic Debate perhaps. Who knows we could even be Girt by Sea !!
  9. It was additional members we were speaking of. Have a look at the Essendon increase as an example of what a finals performance can do.
  10. You are right rjay. I would like our own MFC version rather than an AFL sanctioned one. I don't particularly like the bulldogs version (perhaps too much change) but it is their own. For those old enough to remember perhaps we need the MFC equivalent of the "National Anthem Debate". Now for the next line... our anthem is based upon a jingoistic US song... Dare we dream
  11. big news if right and a possible blow to Casey. Some practical difficulties like list expansion (if any) and the cost of flying reserve teams around the country but I like it.
  12. the Bulldogs waltz was perhaps a play on where the song came from... Sons of the Sea which was a popular music hall song I agree the Tiger rap was really bad
  13. That was great .... the Lou Richards cameo at the end was very special
  14. A few forums that I used to contribute to in Asia have closed and then re-appeared on Facebook for the very reason you suggest. As a positive your moderation policy seems to work very well. Originally the argument for facebook was that it was a simple platform akin to a blank page. With their aggressive use of channelling algorithms it is obvious that they are now far more. As an aside I was reading articles recently saying that Facebook is no longer as popular amongst the young. One of the reasons given was that millennials had no desire to share their life with their parents!!
  15. This time last year we were all excited by what Gawn's ruck dominance could deliver. Seems that our expectations are now tempered somewhat. To me he is the most important player we have in the sense that if we can capitalise on his ruck dominance (that's a big "if) going all the way is not impossible.
  16. Here's an article on the subject: "The internet groups are considered conduits of information rather than publishers under UK law, meaning they have limited responsibility for what appears on their sites. However, the chairman of the media regulator Ofcom said on Tuesday she believed the likes of Google and Facebook were publishers, raising the prospect that they could eventually face more regulation." https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/oct/11/government-considers-classifying-google-facebook-publishers
  17. That will go down in the annals of history along with Livingstone, Jim Thompson and Howard Hughes. A coup of the very highest order.
  18. Good post. From my observations of his games for Casey last year he was too easily pushed under the ball and he also failed to lead in a meaningful way. This year will be important for him. Interesting experiment with Darcy Moore moving to the backline. Perhaps Weid could benefit from a few games down the back.
  19. Could this report be a fake news item planted by an insidious organisation such as those we are often warned about?
  20. Pretty sure that our game against Norf won't qualify as a marquee game despite the importance it has to Demonlanders.
  21. Could not find a direct youtube of the line so I posted it in words. It is one of the most famous lines in the Vicar of Dibley. The episode includes if I recall a cameo from Kylie Minogue and a very good rendition of Elton John's Crocodile Rock from one of the regular cast. The Elton John mix up was because Alice had invited her cousin "Reg Dwight." Anyway .... no no no no parking in the upper field !!
  22. Villager: Is that "No parking is allowed in the upper field", or "Parking is allowed in the upper field"? Jim Trott: [Over PA system] No no no no no no no Parking is allowed on the upper field! OK?
